[Q] Setting 'My Number' under ICS - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Under Settings > About > Status my phone number is shown as unknown. Under Gingerbread I believe there was a way of setting it by going to contacts and pressing menu, then setting it from within there. On ICS there is no such option. Have they removed it or is it simply hiding somewhere else now?

On my ICS, I could set it in Phone Settings.
Phone app > Menu > Settings > Other Settings > My phone number
I'm currently running CM9 build 14 with JVU Modem.

For me its not important

settings under "SMS"

Can there be a difference in what options there may be on the same Mobile Model?
I could use the information on which can be a difference what options there are notices on a Samsung Galaxy S i9000, so if I can get some users of this model to go to "Messages" - "Settings"and see if there is a menu item called "cell broadcast" on a phone with firmware 2.3.2 and 2.3 ..
I'm on 2.3.3 JVO and have a Cell Broadcast settings menu.
There are 3 different options in the menu...
CB activation
Channel Configuration
Language
It seems strange that the options I have - anyone know why

Home and Back buttons gone.

I just installed the All in one Rom and it seems to work well....however, the buttons on the bottom (for "back" and "Home") are gone. Is there a way to get it back or should I just reflash?
It says this right in the first post of the thread for that ROM:
For first time users after bootup:
Settings > System > Navigation Bar >Tablet UI soft buttons, check
Settings > Rom Control > General UI > Show Menu UI Overflow (otherwise there is no way to enable MTP, open browser settings, wifi settings, etc)
Settings > Storage> Menu (three-buttons at top right)-> USB Computer Connection > Media device (check MTP)to make sure your TP usb charges properly. I had to go into portrait to see the three buttons. It should already be checked

Hide Caller ID in JellyBean 4.1 or 4.2

After installing a custom ROM on my Nexus One and upgrading from Gingerbread (2.3.6) I was confused when I wasn't able to find the "Hide Caller ID" setting in JellyBean. However, to my fortune and your benefit, I have found this setting hidden away in the phone app!
You simply go to your Phone app --> hit the capacitive menu button --> hit Settings --> Additional Settings --> Caller ID --> Hide number
and there you go!
Thank you, this helped a lot
Pretty straightforward, thank you!
Great!
I was looking for it at the phone settings under "Wireless & Networks" where it normally is without finding it. So thanks for the hint.:good:
Not working to me

Manage apps
System settings,
There is no "Additional Settings" under "System Settings".

[Q] XT1092 Remove carrier name from status bar

On the top left of my screen (in the status bar, or notification bar) I constantly have a "3" (since I'm on the Three UK network).
Is there a way to get rid of this?
It's rooted, but stock Lollipop XT1092. On KitKat I'd use Xposed with that MotoXposed app, but I don't think that's a possibility on Lollipop.

Brilliant, thanks! I didn't think there'd be an option like that hanging round for some reason, I've never seen it before.

My P20 Pro keeps killing Mi Fit

My Huawei P20 Pro keeps killing the app Mi Fit, I tried going to the Settings > Apps & notifications > Apps > The "Settings" cog on the bottom of the screen > special access > Ignore battery optimisation > Mi Fit > Allow. But that didn't help, because when I optimise the phone, Mi Fit disconnects from my Mi Band 2. Which I think is caused by the phone closing the app completely. I also tried going to Settings > Battery > App launch > Mi Fit > manage manually and leaving all three options enabled. That didn't help either. Any suggestions on what should I do?

You seem to have done everything I would have suggested and still the problem persists?

I finally managed to make it work, the problem would occur right after I would optimise the phone, but after a couple of minutes it would work again. Thanks for the initiative anyways
