can we make a rom for ur mini with a kernel which can make ur mini work on a higher frequency above 800mhz i'm asking this because i saw that galaxy 3 which have almost the same specs can be overclocked to 1ghz?
and somthing else i found there how to make rom for odin from cwm and viceversa here is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405041
even though it has same specs the kernels are different and currently mini roms are stable with 800 mhz frequency
If you can OC to 900 MHz and keep it running in that freq for daily use, sooner or later your CPU will be toasted since it will be too hot. 800 MHz should be high enough for most games.

i think 800 mhz is good for galaxy mini
don't try to overlock it over 800 mhz or else your sgm will don't work properly
sorry for bad english
i don't wanna overclock it more than 806 ii'm just asking is even possible
My mini doesn't even work properly over the 700 mhz, I think 900 mhz would be the killer of our mini's...
I'm sorry for my bad english...

You reall want to toast your Mini Board do ya?
Its dangerous ... the OC kernels ..
what for oc if you have problem with the battery, you know it that i think make you phone healthy is better
theres a thread that has stock rom with OC kernel..
just view this thread..http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1464896

When I go higher than 748MHz, it causes bootloop.
I also think that overclocking is useless, well you get a bit higher Quadrant scores, but it also causes higher battery use, and it´s not so good for the CPU, I think.
And going higher than 825 MHz is, in my opinion, mad.
@xperianpro-dont troll,its just a question.
@codfreak-well,i personally dont use overclock because i need battery, and i dont use my phone for anything else beside wifi, facebook and taptalk.sometimes games but not much.for me normal frequency is from 710mhz to 787mhz.

Hi, how did you get this score ??! which ROM use ?
thanks
My phone can OC to 768 Mhz with no boot/restART
But when i test my phone @ 787 Mhz or higher, it's good at SetCPU application but when i'm going to home (LP) my phone reboot(??)
Luckily i got 768 because no many people can get that! haha
@Xperianpro/as-mario
Our processor might be able to go higher but the problem is the voltage. Each x8 has a slightly different voltage supplied to the processor so some can OC to 825, some can OC only to 748 etc. I can OC to 768. I heard that the LG GT540 can OC to 900 MHz.
--
Basically ppl can OC to 825 but it's kinda rare. Usually, most can OC to 748 only. It might be possible to OC to over 825 but it will be unstable for most people.
Our X8 Voltage is 3-4-5-6-7
if you wanna get higher frequencies you must overvolt and melt your Processor
When I overclock my phone beyond 800mhz, it hangs and restarts. Somebody has Solution?
its because our mini is not stable over 800 mhz
and please don't try to do it again because your phone will become hot and the hardware may get damaged

Agree with you bro.. Not all Minis can handle 800 MHz and above.. Mine is only stable at 787 Mhz.. So that panic when you can't OC your Mini to 800 Mhz..
i saw some guy overclockin @ 864 @ benchmark screenshot thread. thats y got curious
Can you tell me how to overclock with stock rom 2.3.6 on galaxy mini. I have root acess. Thanx in advence
Do you really have to overclock your phone that high? Better not take the risk
bro, or if you still want to do it, be sure to take off the back cover
of your phone and face it on something that will somehow cool it down,
like efan or something like that, cause overclocking your
phone that high uses more battery and temperature goes high like hell, havent use rc5.2 thoughbut i have tried overclocking that high before with other builds.
oh, it is risky to everclock for the sake of your hardware.
Not every phone is equal.
I don't know if you read it, but squad baked his phone due to overclocking.
So please don't say there could nothing happen to the phones.

My x8 getting freeze + reboot at 729 MHz ..
I am using gdx + Alfs v08
..
on stock kernel also I use to get this ... changing kernel wont help increase frequency? ??
Try reducing your overclock MHz until it becomes stable.
dude with custom kernel people get 800+ MHz stable and for me its 691... can I do something to Inc MHz frequency ....

In case you missed it... just because "people get 800+ MHz" doesn't mean YOUR chip is able to reach that frequency. It all depends on the quality of the silicone out of which your chip was made and some luck getting a really great one.
Hey guys i am currently using CM7 kittenlinux base (in fact autoradios cm7 light ics modded)
I just want to know which is a safe overclocking frequency for the mini. I plan to use 710hz but u guys tell me =)
Thank you.
Each phone have not same. ...not every phone stable in the same MHz like i am not stable in800MHz...but someone is stable..so try it by urself...and dont overclock too much...waste battery

i always use 729-748 as max cpu frequency and the lowest frequency as min cpu frequency... as governor i use ondemand or lilgV2... for me works fine but you should find your own configuration because it depends from the use you mean to do with your device... for example if you use you phon for gaming so you need high freqency for lagless gaming experience but a governor and a shleuder that make long battery life... try by yourself xD
For maximum freq 710, for minimum freq 245 (less chance of hanging when waking device) and governor smartassv2. That's how I roll

By putting phone in horizontal position, display facing south-west, and perfectly balanced lol but really, you'll notice how it performs, any fc's or hangs or random reboots are bad signs
Hi,
I'm running CM 10.1 with Werewolf kernel v007. At 1600 MHz the CPU is stable, but at 1700 MHz, the phone freezes and I need to remove the battery. Any solution to make it stable? I tried to set 1325 mV instead of 1275mV, but the SetCPU crashes.

Try another over-clockable kernel, but i advice u to stay at the 1600 mhz no more.

I wouldnt worry about it, the difference between 1600-1700mhz is tiny and a 100mv voltage jump is a big jump to get 1700 stable. Personally is underclock mine to around 1200-1300

well, in that case you have no choice but to stay at 1.6GHz...
and two more side notes: i'd recommend tricksterMOD for such things like UV/OV, ... (i use it myself as well --> "guaranteed" working )
and the max voltage is capped @ 1300mV. more would be too much (remember, we have mobile device with no cooling, not like a lappy )
I would stay at 1600 MHz. The battery gets hot enough without pushing the phone.
I for my part had it underclocked at 1200 and after Optimux Prime kernel Im using 1500MHZ.
