Screen protector on galaxy s

I m confusued to take off screen protector frm my Galaxy s. As I m using it since 2 months.... now I think it ruins the beauty of super. Smiled display. Please help....

Well I spent 50 dollars on screen protectors (none was good enough for me on that phone , several issues)
So I am using only a pouch and till now its fine.
If you get scratches depends only on you , your use and your luck
there are many threads about scratched SGS (sand in the pants?, falling down on some stuff etc). What I recall is not putting it naked to the pants should help. A good pouch should be good enough for it
Btw you might already have some scratches on it check carefully

i use a low cost (cheap) screen protector and it makes it easier to slide your finger across the screen.

[BIG PROBLEM , SCREWED?]Screen Defect

Hello,
Well , I have a big problem with my SGS at the moment , the problem is that my screen is defect. Well , the screen still works as it should(touch , thank god) but I has alot of big scratches.
Believe it or not , but I dropped my sgs like 3 times before on 1 meter height on hard underground , It survived without scratches , btw I dont know if it did land on the screen so maybe thats the reason why my screen survived before. But today i was sitting and I had the phone in my pocket and when I wanted to stand up it dropped out of my pocket on the ground , from 0,5 meters height on a soft floor(carpet) but I discovered those big scratches and I was shocked
/Now the important part , is there any way to repair this???
By putting new glass on the screen or something? Maybe there is someone who experienced the same and knows how and where it got repaired?

Looks like the glass got shattered.
There would be no way to fix a Crack or a Scratch. You will have to replace the Digitizer and Display.

Dude, that's why you should use screen protector on it.

'Defect' LOL. My car was 'defective' after I wrapped it around a telephone pole.
Would a screen protector prevent a shatter like that? Perhaps to a limited extent but I though they were mainly for scratches.
I do my SGS bareback. No significant scratches yet, I think last time I cleaned the screen up and looked really close I could see one tiny line.
I've dropped once onto pavement (dented the bezel) and once on a wood floor (flew out of my hand as I whipped it out and bounced across the room lol).

Sorry sir , if your screen(or glass whatever)is shattered. In fact , its also defect. 1. a lack of something necessary for completeness or perfection; shortcoming; deficiency
But who cares?
Looks like these general subboard is full of trolls , I'm asking for advice where and how to repair your screen when its in a state like this? All I get is people who try to act smart or whatever you wanna call it.

Thanks , never thought of looking @ assecories bord xD

You could try and replace it yourself which is probably cheaper or you can ring samsung and tell them what happened and have them replace it/send a new phone for you. Obviously it would cost you.

Screen with digitizers are for sale on ebay.. screen replacement thread in xda somewhere with phone disassembly vid(sure you would have found it by now)..

Well just replacing the glass is not gonna work because the touch digitizer and the glass are like one. So you,ll have to buy it completely new. Also its not easy to replace it. Its glued together. Youll need to be handy.
If your buying off ebay make sure its an amoled screen. Alot of lcds on ebay.

Silver chromed plastic line.

Hi Is there any way that we can change the silver line of Galaxy Ace. Too Many scratches already. I don't know how I can make this new again other than buying a new one. )

I also want/need it, mine's too old.

I think that is body shell..
I've ask at servis centre n the price is about half of secondhand ace..

I spray painted mine from silve to glossy black. i Also have glossy black battery cover so it will loog f*cking awesome! I can upload picture when the paint is dry.

I use plastic/rubber cover for my ace, so it makes from my ace unbreakable/scratchable thing and you will never have to change the silver line

Hmm.... I don't actually think that it makes it "unbreakable" but saves your phone from many careless falls and bad in-pocket company such as keys or the like
I've mine with a combination of silicone/plastic cover and a screen protector too, although the latter is quite old and scratched but I don't want to peel it out yet until I can get myself a new one

I too had A LOT of scratches on it and decided too peel off the whole silver paint(or whatever it WAS) and now it looks better than before..I would post a screenie in about 2hours..

How to remove small scratches from my screen?

hello everyone !!
My screen got some small scratches and the part with scratches are blurry.
How can I remove the scratches without buying screen protectors?
I dont want to spend money for the small scratches.

You can try with polishing paste, but I'm not sure how capacitive touchscreen will react with it. Better do some research before doing it

But I clearly said that he have to do some more research on it, because I don't know how touchscreen will react...

If nothing else works.....
I guess u can "change your screen".
They change in service centers when ur screen breaks.

use toothpaste,, its working on small scracth,,, and has no effect on touchscreen,,, yesterday i try it on my xperia active,,

Probably a silly question but have you got a screen protector on to help prevent it?

I don't know what toothpaste you were using but when i did this a few weeks back on my archos 101 (g8) it left some smears that took a while to go... (although the scratch has gone )

how much money you spend if its bigger scratch ?
u need it bro, the screen protector. trust me.

I got my galaxy from my elder bro, without screen protector :'/
and I'd say toothpaste makes no effect however technically you do. Better change display, Myself thinking about changing display but saving bucks for it.

using toothpaste to clear up your scratches is a total nonsense. btw which toothpaste did you use??? LOL!!!

I've been told that Brasso works, ya know the brass polish, haven't tried it tho so no idea if it works or not.

Scratches can't be removed.
And toothpaste definitely never works. Trust me I've used all methods mentioned over internet like using toothpaste, grease, shampoo. Some even suggested using banana peels. None of them works.
The only solution is get a new good scratch guard. Thicker the better. :good:

Use a screen protector to not scratch it anymore.

I did it on my Galaxy Ace and it removed the oleophobic layer(which makes the screen feel smooth) and now the screen is rough and drags my finger.

As I said, research before doing it... whitening toothpaste worked for me, it took about 3 hours to buff the scratches with microfibre tho...

Cracked glass replacement

Hello,
I need to replace a galaxy s5830 glass, but I am confused about digitizer, is the digitizer connected to the glass? or it's separated from the glass and connected to the lcd like in Galaxy s3? or I really have no idea about neither, and even in the galaxy s3 the digitizer is not connected to the LCD?
Anyway, I was thinking of buying a digitizer+glass together but I didnt know how to glue it, will that be ok?

Yep, I think that each phone has a different construction method. some phones have glass and digitizer together, like the s5830, some have digitizer and LCD together like galaxy s3.
but still, I need to find the materials to get a proper adhesion, I want it to be very similiar to the original.
Do I need LOCA too? or double sided tape is enough?

I know there are some videos but none of them actually discuss the adhesive =/ or at least no one says how is the feeling of the touch after replacing to a new screen without applying LOCA.
*Hey, is it possible to use OCA instead of LOCA (non-liquid clear adhesive? or I'd better use the liquid one)
