[Q] need stock rom for Telenor Serbia - Samsung Galaxy Mini

hello ppl.
Can somebody help me?
I need stock rom for Telenor Serbia for my Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570
Sorry for my bad English

I would need it as well.
anybody?

http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-S5570&pcode=0&os=1&type=1#firmware
samo ne znam sta ce vam stock pored svih ovih djakonija...instal any of them , but if you want swype that supports serbian, find serbias version...i recomend to instal latest version...btw, you need to create account on samfirmware

thanks!
I did not backup the original, so it would be good to have it in reserve.
I have tried my first custom ROM, CM 10.1 by Rohan, and... I would like to test some others as well.
Can you suggest which one to test (Samsung Galaxy Mini)?
and another question...
I am doing all of this so that I could solve two problems that I had, i.e. full internal memory and the phone that is typing the screen for himself (nekad tako poludi i klikce gde stigne, ne mogu mu nista osim da zakljucam ekran).
so, I have solved the internal memory, but the second problem is still there...
what do you think, is this a software or hardware problem, what could be causing it?
edit:
at sammobile there is no Serbia listed as a country...
I remember my Android was 2.3.6 and firmware had last two digits of S2.

if you need stock for garanty, instal Kies for samsung and you have option to download update for your mini and for your baseband, serbian...but trust me, warranty covers only software problems, and with the help of these guys here, you wull not get any problems...about keyboard...if you are using chinese charger, it could be the problem, believe me, iv had problems with that...if not, reflash your rom ...if you have time, try every rom of latest date and pick one that is best for you, ukusi su razliciti

the phone is out of warranty (more than 2 years).
Kies is not recognizing anymore the software version and hence does not offer any update (it recognize only the original stock rom).
I am using the original charger from the beginning...
the phone got crazy... it was crazy with the original stock rom...
is this because of the SW or HW?
I know about different preferences... but... can you give me an advice?
letters should be big as with stock rom minimum, I should be able to have more free internal memory...
thanks for your help
p.s. if you find the original stock rom (telenor srbija), I would appreciate it.

if you want more internal memory, you need to partition sd card, you can find tutorial all over the forum...if you want something like stock rom, everyone will recomend you Emanon v7, it has all features of stock, and if you have partition, you can use link2sd app to free up internal memory...thing is that is not that customizable, litteraly stock, but with support of init.d, you can power up his peeformance and keep the stability of stock rom...for better looks, miui or cm7, put some theme, few icons pack and you will get a pretty good rom...to sa ekranom ti je onda do stock roma bilo ako nemas problema sa ovim novim romom...sad ce i novi kernel za ovaj cm10.1 pa ce biti mnogo bolji

once the warranty expires you should forget about stock sw ---- it's a liberating experience
just get used to a whole lot of reading and funny terms and you can find a tutorial/assistance for almost everything
choose wisely!
start looking/learning with SD partitioning and performance packages that will follow every custom rom, get used to different launchers and certain bugs that just add the flavor
....mada ne znam cemu ova prepiska na engleskom

mora jbg, taka su pravila stock for our mini is really bad, except maybe battery, thats it...we should use the power of customizing linux

ok, I am still with cm10.1...
installed gapps also... partitioned SD... link2sd installed... moved or linked everything to SD...
having problems with installing apps from google play... not sufficient memory message.
I have noticed that, link2sd report says that my system memory is practically full, i.e. only 2% free.
I guess that could be the problem but do not know how to free some space there.
any suggestions?
and yes, screen is not crazy anymore... it seems like it was sw related.
just noticed... can not login skype... uninstalled it, downloaded from play and installed again... loop at sign in.

a short feedback....
this cm10.1 is the most beautiful ROM of all I have seen, but in my case it was a bit slow performing on Mini, and I could not figure out some settings (or they were bugs).
then I tried cyanmobile eXperience of squadzone and modified by midhato...
less beautiful, faster performing... but it suddenly got into the loop at booting after self restarting.
at the end, I flashed the Emanon v.7, with the 8gb class 10 card inside the phone... and all is working perfectly... at least for now.
I modified CPU a bit and I think this would be my permanent choice (unless it starts making problems).
thank you for your advice Nixoman!

Random reboots

Hi guys
A friend of mine has a problem: his Galaxy keeps restarting randomly for no reason, many times in a day while using it.
What is weird: the phone hasn't ever been rooted/flashed with a custom rom, neither updated, always been 100% original. Just a normal usage!
I'm not much into this phone, so i don't know if it's a known issue or what.. but it sounds strange to me, possible hardware problem? Needs to be flashed or rooted? Other?
I've already done a factory reset and now i took off the sd-card to see if it could be it, but i'd appreciate some advices!
Thanks
Try updating it with kies, might help but can't guarantee
if random reboots happens while using too much mobile resources then its normal for galaxy mini like phone
Random Reboots might be device specific or not , It depends.
But you may want to visit the samsung care center in your vicinity area just to be sure about the latter .
Else just flash a new stock Rom via ODIN (not that it would leave your device impure as rooting does ).

Is Froyo the last "official" release or was a Gingerbread leaked/official firmware released? I'll probably try flashing something, don't know yet if a custom rom could solve the problem but still it's a possibility

With mobile resources you mean 3G/wifi or RAM? By the way in both the cases i don't think it's the problem, since there aren't many apps in background and the only one using internet connection is whatsapp!
Thanks for the replies :good:

The last official android update for for sgm was gingerbread based api.
Try flashing the stock gingerbread on the device via odin (google it if you don't know how to.) and then try custom roms.
Also the thing about resources, you already know about our sgm aka lil'g . Its not that powerful as most quad core latest devices boosted by plenty much RAM. So multitask on it wisely.

I'll try with gingerbread when i see my friend, thanks! I own a i9000 and flashed pretty much so i know odin and similar stuff, no problem
And yes i tried the mini many times, doesn't have a bunch of ram but still i think it can't be a ram-lack problem since it did the same also after the factory reset, with few apps installed!
Thanks again for the help :good:
Oh, was forgetting: how does the cyano run on the mini? Smooth? Battery killer or ok for everyday use?
Try cm7 by mebitek. Despite its source code is old and official cm7 is way more ahead of it, the mebitek's cm7 relays on battery & performance like a pro..
by resources I mean more ram and CPU usage
background apps ( they don't play big role as they get closed automatically)
running big games (HD one)
etc.
if you have many apps, cut the .android_secure folder and paste it on your computer.. i had this problem with the stock GB 2.3.6.. reboots reboots and reboots!! i pasted the folder in my comp, delete unnecessarily used apps and VOILA! it was running smooth again.. but now i'm using cm7..
I updated to official gingerbread release, then after putting all the (few) apps into phone storage i removed every android-secure file!
I'll see how it goes with this, if the problem remains i'll try a cyano or go directly to the service center
Thanks again for the tips!

[Q] samsung ace kernels for wifi, roms

so my question is about kernels.i download multiple roms and try them.each of this rom has unique problem and its really frustrating what to install on,to work for all what i need.i need more ram,i saw the post and tutorial and made exactly all steps.anyway, ofc it didnt work.i found some replay says about custom kernel.so,if i install any kernel, does affect on rom, does version of android stays same????any kernel can be installed to rom i have atm??i didnt found any answer about that.today im dealing all day with this on forum, checking all ower for answers and it driving me mad cause i still cant comment on some post and i really need it.cause of that im spanding hours for my ace to have all what i need. big internal memory, bigger size of ram working camera and no lag rom.you my think im spanding time for a sh1tty phone, well thats true.another question:is there any kernel(tweak)for wifi???i have ace and huawei in same room.ace wifi works just sux as much as he can, whatever rom i put on,wifi going still sux, disconecting etc on each rom i installed.my huawei phone also ****ty phone more than ace,the wifi works non stop at full signal, black market works fast, google play works fast.on ace black market works slow as snail on whatever rom i install, google play works normal,on some roms slow and lagy.so i saw comments about wifi.people said about router to configure, well its just stupid, cause i have 2 phones in my room and i see what is going on.simply, ace has most sh1ty wifi ever and modem has nothing to do,my 2nd room is 5meters away from modem, just 5 meters and ace cant handle, thats really lame.so,any solutions about that i would be really apriciated .
If you change kenrel, android version will remain same.
No disconnect issue with me..
On rom JB CM10.
I had experienced that problem in CM7 ROMS.
And you cannot install any kernel on any rom.
See compatibility.

I9000 still useable?

Hi,
About a year ago I bought my wife an i9000 off ebay. It is the UK unlocked version. It came with the stock rom. I rooted it and have installed various different roms over the year. At first, the phone was fine, but its gradually got slower and now, it's almost unusable. The phone constantly lags, hangs, crashes etc. It drives the wife up the wall and I get it in the neck.
I finally decided to go back to the last official gingerbread rom to see if that would help (XXJVU), but its the same.
I am starting to think that the phone simply isn't powerful enough to run today's versions of the apps a smartphone should be able to run. Her list of 'must have' apps, on top of what's installed as standard is as follows:
Apps that will run in the background:
Facebook app and widget
accuweather app and widget
BBC news app and widget
stock calander widget
viber
Apps that will be opened and closed:
skype
memoires diary app
adobe reader
google translate app
samsung mobile print app
CTK (Czech news app)
Is this list of apps excessive? Should an i9000 be able to run today's versions of these apps without any problems? A lag here and there won't bother her, it's the freezing and crashes that drive her crazy.
If the above should be possible, could someone recommend a ROM or ROM/kernel combo that would work? I don't care if its stock or custom, or what version of android it is, I just want the phone not to freeze.
Thanks

My suggestion is gamerzrom ive been running it and its perfect no freezes or crashes and ive been running much more than you mentioned above. The phone is still going strong

Hi, if u already suitable with flashing, then its easy, GB got really good sense on videos n app but its to buggy to use, Using ram manager n sometimes reboot ur fone will clearing cache so ur fone will be fast again, but only on limited time. Cache will start to bulky n slowing down da fone.
If ur familiar with flashing, then upgrading ur fone to ICS or JB is wise decision. As 4.x Android have a good ram manager n easy to use, and did say, clearing cache would be good but sometimes check ur internal sd if it get too bulky. Insufficient space will makes operation apps to became failure as app need space to launch either in RAM or sd.
and still, if ur fone still became lag or slow, after upgrading, i suggest u use some script available here in XDA to make ur fone systems manageble like supercharger or fly on script.
but be xtra careful and read carefully before doing something. Doesnt want to risk bricking ur fone rite, so Good Luck

So what is your modification?
Juz choose any custom ROM in dev section, as for me, i juz using nightlies with supercharger and script by slaid, thats all, but really, da post before juz for jokin, and if u wanna to gain it, u need to OC ur fone.
There are tons of quite dependable custom ROM out there, try every one of it. as i also do da same before. and decide it on ur own

Ok, I've installed the latest slim bean, and I want to try the mods you suggested above. Could you explain what you've installed from slaid and supercharger?
Have you patched services.jar?
It all looks a bit complicated to me..
Thanks.

Its known that antutu scores and any benchmark scores mean nothing the performance shows in games. Benchmark scores change if you make 50 tests itl be always different .
Yes i suggest gamerzrom because it has everything in one package no scrips needed. The dev tried everything out and used only the best in his rom and so far its flawless

GamerzRom it's closed at the moment.
I haven't tried it so I can't comment on it's performance.
I've flashed countless Roms and in my experience I'm most satisfied with C-RoM Mix.

if u choose GB, just go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273317 and choose any 2 attached link (CM or Stock (not both) ) then choose what Ram Manager u wanna use and copy it to internal sd. Boot to recovery and flash RAM MANAGER first, then da Fly On script after. Reboot. Thats all.
If u from ICS/JB Rom (custom or stock)
Hav u rooted? Root first and update ur superuser binary. And ur chosen rom must have kernel that support init.d (see if u got init.d folder in /system/etc/ thats all. or juz ask ur ROM dev
1. Download script manager from GPlay
2. Download this script (.sh) http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1200973&d=1342401278 and dont change anything. Save da script inside root of internal sd
3. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273317 and download da 1 of 2 last attachment (choose it, CM or STOCK depend on ur ROM. Most custom rom based on CM Nightlies)
4. Choose any RAM Manager u wanna used (for me its hard multitasking)
5. save it at da root of ur internal sd.
6. Run script manager and choose da script from supercharge RC10, dont forgot to tick da skull (permission from superuser).
7. Read carefully da instruction in script manager. As it will tell u everything, u can choose no for all except da one that change ur services.jar, click yes for it.
8. After da script done, it will ask u to reboot. Juz say no and it will come back to da main menu, Now u can choose again of 34 option (maybe got more option, i juz forgot about it) from script. Juz see da option to unsupercharger and choose it (coz u just want it to patched da services.jar, not to use da supercharge. Only RC10 have da option to alter da services.jar quite easily or if u wanna da hard way, see here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16635544&postcount=2 )
9. Follow any of da instruction. , it juz wanna to revert back to normal, except for da services.jar
10. Reboot. Now u hav alter ur services.jar.
Now reboot to recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache.
1. In recovery, choose to install zip, dan choose RAM MANAGER first.
2. After it done, choose da fly on script and flash it.
3. Reboot after it done.
in case of update da script,
1. delete da RAM Manager in /system/etc/init.d and delete file named ram_manager. (or if ur recovery got option to clear init.d juz pick it.)
2. Reboot to recovery and as usual, repeat da above instruction (juz for da script, altering services.jar already been done) and dont forget, any changes must be followed by wiping cache.
thats all and if in case u dont hav guts to try, dont do it.
Wow. Thanks for the detailed instructions!
I have followed them and done everything you said. The phone seems to run a lot smoother now. I just hope that it stays that way and doesn't start to slow down after time.
The slim rom comes with the semaphore kernel which does not seem to have the ability to overclock. Can I install a new kernel with that rom to enable overclocking?
Thanks
Semaphore can overclock the system. However it needs it's own app - semaphore manager. With that app you'll get a few nifty features on top so it's worth downloading anyway.
find semaphore manager from stores
however, any circumstances occur over OC will not be my reeponsibilities.

screenlock on i9000 and way forward
Hi guys,
cool to see there are still some SGS activities going on with that device. Since I have my GNEX I did not look at my SGS anymore.
So, had it in my hands yesterday and thought about updating it.
Problem I have is: I can not access the phone anymore because I dont remember the screenlock anymore (numbers) ;-(
The phone is fully rooted and unlocked with a
Darky Rom and
Dark kernel
Via the lockscreen I can boot to Recovery (CWM) or Download mode (as well as via the buttons of course)
Question: is there a similar tool like the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit for backing up or do a nandroid with the SGS?
I guess I have 2.3.x version running currently.
Well the external SD i backuped already - but I am afraid there is still some stuff i would like to get before wiping..
Would be great if you could help me out.

Lol man, you can't use official Facebook app on the phone, It's the slowest s*it ever made . Use m.facebook.com in browser, or any alternative Facebook client instead, official Facebook app kills all the performance .
Install GamerzROM, delete the MORPH folder from the .zip file BEFORE installation. Do NOT restore any apps using TitaniumBackup or similar. If your phone gets too slow, use Clean Master to clean the cache, that helps too (use especially this app!). Do NOT use custom launcher, use Xperia launcher, which is pre-installed in GamerzROM, it's really fast . Do NOT install any additional performance tweaks, because the best ones are pre-installed in GamerzROM.
My phone is blazing fast with these settings, hope I helped . BTW také jsem z České Republiky, zdravím
Edit: I just noticed that there ain't no download link for GamerzROM 3.0, so you can just wait for the next release .

Which official 2.3.6 firmware shall I install?

My mum has a Samsung Galaxy Ace and she is complaining about quick battery draining and low space. I figured the best thing would be is too update it from 2.3.3 too 2.3.6.
The problem is that Kies is saying that 2.3.3 is already the newest one, so I decided I will go on the internet and look for some official 2.3.6 ROMs. I found many, and the problem is that I don't know which to install not to mess anything up.
I found many people saying that they are stuck in boot loops and their phones lag even more because of the update. The question is: Which ROM shall I use? Right now my mum has 2.3.3 XWPKY and I want to update to one of the 2.3.6 ones.
I found many:
DDKQ8 (oldest one, boot loops apparently)
XWKTM (value pack, newest)
XWKPY (in the middle) which apparently is 2.3.6.... (people are saying it's actually 2.3.3).
Anyway, guys, which ROM do you use, if you have a official one? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks ;D Also, on the page there's some Vietnam firmware.... I live in the UK. My question primarily was which version (as in, the letters such as DDKQ8 shall I use.

Here it is where you'll get all official firmwares http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/
Select your country if you want, KTM is an official firmware from Spain (android 2.3.6.) but don't matter if you flash a firmware from another site but you'll need to change maybe the modem after flash an Indian Firmware, so try to flash an European Firmware to avoid this kind of stuffs
I recommend you the Spanish KTM... Good battery duration and it's perfect as base.

Thanks for the replies. I found this site with firmwares: http://sampro.pl/firmware/android/samsung-s5830/
Holy crap. That's quite a lot to choose from... Are they all the same? Or do they come with different bloatware/lockscreens etc. Also, which shall I install so I won't have problems with the modem?

I explained you before, if you use a fw form Europe or near your country, you won't face moden's troubles

Yeah, thanks, but is the content of the ROM the same? Like the look of certain things. Eg. lock screen.

Thanks, that's all I needed to know. I also read through a thread on this ROM. Gonna flash it tomorrow. Thanks again!
Flashed and rooted it, no problems whatsoever. Do you guys recommend anything to make it even quicker/get more space/better battery life?? Because the internal space it bad. Thanks.

well, the best way >>> delete all your useless apps (I don't use gapps e.g.), which are consuming your ram (or are running in background), reduce the brightness, use low frequencies, disable sync, delete default browser and use a light one... you can try Stocklite rom (stable without bugs and all performance from stock rom)
If you are using a custom based stock rom, don't use setcpu/similar apps to set your CPU frequencies, check my signature thread , to set frequencies when android boot without to use memory space and ram consumption

Fast and stable stock firmwares for GT-i9000

Hi guys!I read this forum for a very long time but I really, really can't find exactly what I need.
So I got my first Android phone and it's Samsung Galaxy S-i9000.Now I really know more about android phones and RAM and CPU for Android phones. However, now I think the better choise is Galaxy S 2 because of 1 GB RAM,it's faster and it has flash for camera(But I don't really need flash ).
The problem is RAM and I really like games like Subway Surfers,Temple Run,Ski Challenge,Real Racing.
I own Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 2 months and when i bought phone, firmware was Gingerbread 2.3.3.It was smooth and fast, but I had a battery drain problem. After charging and playing games,Android OS was draining my battery,so I had to reboot my phone after every charging and playing game.I searched a solution and i found that draining battery is bug of firmware 2.3.3.So I updated it via Kies to 2.3.4 XXJVQ and draining was still there but less than with 2.3.3.I didn't know what to do,so I searched forums and found that I should update to original Gingerbread 2.3.6 JVU.I bricked my phone, because Odin stuck at setup connection. There was just image of phone-!-computer when I booted.I was able to go to download mode and I immediately took my phone to repair service.Repairman installed to me 2.3.6 JVU and it is bit slower, slower for some games.I am sad.I don't know what to do.It is only 320 MB available.
-What should I do?
-I think I should take my phone to repairman and say him to install new firmware but I don't know which firmware. Can you tell me please?I want fast firmware without bugs and battery drain and I really want to play games like Subway Surfers and Temple run without lags like I used to play wit Gingerbread 2.3.3 and 2.3.4.
-Is there simple solution to change firmware?
-Why did I bricked phone last time when I tryed to update it.Is it because I maybe don't have USB 2.0 port.
Please reply.
P.S. I don't really like Custom ROMS because I think they are slow and unsafe.
Sorry for bad English

You should better use USB 2.0 to update the firmware, Samsung USB driver must be installed and Kies process killed by the Task Manager (it loves to work in the background and can block flashing via Odin)
BTW, if you have used incompatible Odin version for your i9000 that also could be a reason for soft brick.
I fail to understand your point, as custom ROMs are actually faster and less laggy (especially when BigMem enabled: 407MB of RAM)
But for gaming is probably recent GB firmware a better choice. So all after JVT are fine, maybe JW7 would be best for you, it was released for Portugal and you can download it from sammobile.com
If not sure about something, check my i9000 guide

I am sure that I closed all Kies proccesses, and I used Odin 1.85 which is compatible with my phone,so I think the problem is USB port. That computer was old.Do you think it is because of old computer?
Wait,it is based on Android 4.x and my phone has to be rooted.I realy don't want to root my phone, and this Gingerbread JVU 2.3.6 (currently on my phone) is value pack too and it is slow.Very less RAM available. Is it about Kernel maybe. My kernel is [email protected] #2. Can I change and how?My phone is not rooted. Thanks!

I don't understand why wouldn't you root the phone....
Root would give you so much more options. Stock ROMs are full of bloatware that slowes the phone incredibly down.
With root access to your firmware you could uninstall all useless Samsung apps and it would boost the speed of your i9000.
Flashing a Semaphore_2.5.0bm.tar kernel would grant you full root access, CWM recovery and you could enable 409MB of memory on your phone, what isn't imaginable now (on costs of 720p video playback that wouldn't be possible anymore)

Because I want to took phone to service and tell them to install me new rom, beacuse I'm scared after first brick. And I think they won't root my phone and install custom roms. That's the reason I want Official Stock Firmware for GT-i9000 which is fast for games.I just want to tell them which firmware I want. And I am so confused about kernels.I don't even know should my phone be rooted to change kernel...
So,please if you know some fast Official Stock Firmware without bugs and lag, tell me. :highfive:

OK, I understand.
So, the latest one is JW9, not many people know it as it came very late and only for very few countries. But I remember people were saying it was awsome. Try Portugal one and if CSC works in your country stick with it (screenshot attached)
If no, this one will ceirtanly work (as it has multi-CSC) is this JW4 release:
Code:
United Kingdom / Ireland: 2012 April GB 2.3.6 I9000XXJW4 csc: I9000OXAJW5
I know that one, quite smooth, not very fast (compared to JB or KK roms) but stable and with excellent battery life. Best you can do is to download both, check that the zips aren't corrupted (download error) and give them both into your service and tell the guys to try first if JW9 works in your country. It should, actually.
Good luck and let know later if you like them

Allright,I think I'm will download just JW4.I googled, but there are many opinions.
Have you tried it yet?Tell me is it fast for games. That's most importan to me.
Also, people say it has 364 MB avaiable,BUT i'm little suspicious. Some peole say that 200-220 MB RAM is already unavailable when you turn on your phone. Is that true?I'm sorry if I'm boring but I really want to know all these answers before I took my phone to service.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

BTW, you know, I got so curious about the JW9 as I really didn't know it and I've just flashed JW9 today and: I must say I am bit shocked how good it is! It is far the best gingerbread I ever tried, incredibly fast and smooth., much better than the CM7.x (2.3.7)!!

No problem mate
Yes, it is all together 364 available as part of 500MB is fixed (reserved) for some system functions.... actually, with only 500MB capacity, the RAM of the i9000 is already around 60% full / used before you start any app or game.
Go for JW9, it is amazing! It is obviously better, faster and smoother than the JW4.
It will be no problem about signal I think, basebands in Europa are so similar.
I just showed it my wife and she wants that I install it for her instead of the CM11...... she prefers GB's layout and design..... Oh, yes: it just flies with SpeedMod kernel k-17-3.... but it is also very fast with its stock kernel

I changed my mind. Then,I will probably tell them to install JW9.I don't care does it include my language, but I just need english language. Is english avaiable in JW9.After 1-2 days using tell me,please,is that good firmware.I just wanna know some basics:
-Is battery good? (I gotta admit that battery on 2.3.6 JVU (now on my phone) is very good,no Android OS bugs, but performance is bad)
-How much RAM is avaiable and how much is unaviable when you turn on phone?
-Is Temple Run lag?
-Is that Value Pack? (I hate to lose RAM on that kind of firmware,I don't even like new features,I really don't care )
If I finally make my phone stable and fast, you're the best!

LOL, it is not about language pack, but Baseband / Radio- frequences for mobile networks that can vary in different regions of the world
Comparation: I know JVU well from before, IMHO, the JW9 is better in all terms. Faster, smoother, great.
It also looks much nicer, I've attached you few screenshots, I only couldn't make it fast enough to open the drawer before screen was printed (releasing of back+home button makes a shot, but also exits from laucher drawer)... it is my cat as wallpaper
My wife has liked so much the JW9 that she asked me to de-install her CM11 and flash JW9 on her i9000 today!
By no apps running, I had 42% RAM free, what is very good for the i9000
But you will also need some day root access, if nothing else just to uninstall Samsung's bloat apps that you'll never need and they slow your phone down. With root apps, one can hibernate many processes and

Don't worry about baseband. It will work with your country's network. The guys in service will take care of it.
I will check later about RAM, but it will probably be about the same like with JVU.
I know you need more memory, that is why I suggested you to flash a custom kernel, Semaphore enables up to 384,5 MB on stock GB roms and up to 409 MB with KK roms.

Hi,
I've checked the firmware for Portugal from sammobile.com and it is totally bloated with stuff for some portugese provider.
Here you have a clean- non-branded XWJW9 firmware for your i9000, best Gingerbread I ever tried:
I9000XWJW9_I9000OXAJW4_I9000XWJW1 download link
It has open Europe-CSC so it will ceirtanly work also in your country. If your language keyboard is missing, just install free app MultiLingual Keyboard
So, good luck and lots of fun- happy New Year with your new i9000

Thanks! Happy New Year!
Can I flash either the Portugese or German XWJW9 firmware on my SGS? The one I'm currently on right now is the XXJW4 UK/IRELAND with multi-csc. Wifi signal is weak but when the phone is right beside the router, the wifi signal fluctuates.
I'm in the Philippines by the way. I'm a bit worried that the baseband and CSC for the XWJW9 won't work in my country.
Thanks.

Yes, JW9 will work. If the baseband isn't working, you can replace the modem later with any root file browser. Sometimes changing the region in the Wi-Fi settings can really help. You should try. Maybe no need for JW9.
