I'm having some dificult to run some games on my Milestone, like PES2012, GTA, PvZ. I can run the intro the game doesn't run.
Actually i'm using the last CM7 (7.1.5 Kang) . I've already done a lot of tests but can't run these games.
Can anyone give me some advices or sugest a way to run these games?
Which value I may use in heap size? Overclock set? Use any APP (chainfire 3d, motomizer, blade body)? Any good rom?
Anyone could run these games on milestone? With which rom, heap size, overclock?
Tks

all gb roms are designed for 512mb ram+ so gaming isn't that good
When I had my milestone... on stock 2.1 and 2.2 I could run games like Sims 3, nfs shift and gangta Miami vindication very smoothly
But with gb roms they don't run at all or not very smoothly

always sad cause emus ran like crap on my hero but i'm pretty excited to test them out with OC.
as for OP do you run a mem management app like Auto Memory Management?
I do use an auto memory manager and I am currently using the newest CM6 rom by darch. I am OCed to 710mhz and I cannot find a way to get homerun battle 3d to run well. It never ran well with my stock alltel rom and it runs nearly as bad now with my CM6 2.2 OCed rom. Any ideas? I don't use a live wallpaper or anything
All games run perfect fine on mine.... OC to 768 on CM6T4
Do you use setcpu with cm6 or oc widget or do you just let the rom handle it?

Hi all
Recently I was looking at some videos of people playing dungeon hunter 2 on the motorola milestone. One person was using the milestone official 2.2 update and it seems to be blazingly smooth when running dungeon hunter 2. But I'm on froyomod 2.7 and the gameplay isn't smooth. Is this jsut my phone or is it the rom?
Anyone want to help/discuss?

if u gimme the link to the .apk for the game for milestone ill tell u how to make it work ... i am currently playing modern combat 2 n its as smooth as it can get
I can do it
Did you tried to do a Overclock? Im using a CM7 with Overclock 1.2GHz and it work fine when i'm gaming.
Weird. I'm playing dungeon hunter 2 using froyomod at 1.1ghz. I have no clue why its lagging

Overclocking definitely helps, but the reason why you are probably lagging is due to memory management. Try supercharging your phone by checking out zeppelinrox's supercharging thread in this subforum.

AMM is more of a temporary fix compared to zeppelin's supercharging.

By SC I'm guessing you mean Supercharging?
Luca made his own kind of memory management but it isn't like zeppelin's.
Yes, supercharging!
I prefer to use the luca's way.
On SC/Cm7, I couldn't open too many apps...

There are a couple of ROMs that do now tho.. HO!NO! cm7 and MIUI by eybee1970
I modified every CM7 ROM, apply gaming script from zeppelirox, and here is list of games that i can play (smooth) on my MS:
1. Mordem combat 2.
2. Shadow guardian.
3. Setler HD.
4. Starfont collision HD.
5. Rise of Ayden HD.
6. Gun bros 1.4
7. Contract killer
(these 2 glu games are too heavy for MS).
8. Grave defense HD.
9. Guerilla bob.
10. Fast5 (but lag, look like play a slideshow ^_^).

That's funny because luca doesn't even like FroyoMod's current memory management -which is merely aggressive minfree levels.

It's good! But no multitasking! Battery is good also!
LOL! So, my Milestone can run much faster and much more stable?
Keun when u say u can play those games smoothly what do u mean. Because when I was on cm7 modern combat didn't even start and it did start on iceandfire (no supercharger but I was using amm at the time) but it was laggy and eternal legacy didn't really work properly. Also on froyomod shadow guardian does work but is really choppy at times (about 1-2fps) whereas other times it works at about 30-60fps. And dungeon hunter 2 doesn't get past 20fps.
But all this time I didn't have zepplin's supercharger. I only used auto memory manager

I use CM7 here, yesterday night I've tried all v6 options to no avail, Gun Bros won't go past loading screen few seconds after I choose a mission.... Game Settings, Agressive Settings, Ballanced, none worked (not that I'm fanatic for the game, never played it, just curious as many people mention this game)... Perhaps CM7 uses more memory anyway and there is not enough memory even using Zeppelinrox scripts... ?
Try the iceandfire 2.XX. that rom is working well for me. I had gun bros on my defy. Its not that great to be honest and did get boring damn quick

A lot of Gingerbread ROMs are laggy when you play 3D games. You can try iceandfire or FroyoMOD, and try zeppelinrox's supercharging.

Like shadedude66 said gb roms are slower in comparison to froyo for gaming when it should be faster becausee gb was designed for phones with 512mb of ram. So it lags on the milestone. But if you use zepplinrox's supercharger iceandfire is a gaming god

Hello, Do ROM's like CM7 and Darky's ROM etc improve gaming and CPU performance? because im playing Shadow Gun and it's lagging like hell... will installing custom ROM fix this?
P.S sorry for being noob I'm just looking for reasons to flash custom ROM
You won't see a massive difference between ROMs but there is a slight difference. Chainfire from market impacts on performance if used correctly. also I do recommend ICS ROMs. I feel that games run more smoothly on them .

I think that in any ICS ported rom there's a little bit of increase in graphic performance.

Difference in performance is very high to me, but if you want a STABLE ROM I suggest to use Darkyy's one or CM7 stable release...

If i install darky's rom for example will that stop lag in shadow gun?
I don't now, but I can post my results in Qaudrant and you can see if they are better or not...
I remeber you that I'm on ICS 4.0.3 now, therefore I can only suggest you to give a try to Darkyy's or CM7 and try your game performances...
I only use fruitninja and works like a charm.
If I can help you in flashing other rom just tell me something.
Shadow gun is a very demanding game and the galaxy s has lacking hardware for optimal game play. Software can only do some optimization. You will not get a totally smooth experience with any rom.

Quadrant scores mean absolutely nothing.
For a game like ShadowGun to run as smoothly as possible, I suggest a Froyo ROM and RAM optimization scripts such as ThunderBolt or SuperCharger.
Give up froyo. Go for latest rom and midnight kernel. No ext4! And use agressive lmk settings. And delete all bloatware (you can use my huge list) and use adw launcher with no widgets. Only search and 4 shortcuts. Overclock a little bit. You can't believe your eyes.

Lolz you're sooo wrong. I will put a video for you. It will contain dungeon defenders, shadowgun, blood glory, gta 3, modern combat 3, dungeon hunter 2, nfs shift, asphalt 6 I'm playing all without microlags. Even smoother than most of dual core htc phones. We have a secret weapon that is sgx540 but you must know how to use it

Using your technique described above essentially strips the phone to a minimal and restricts how one would normally go about with an android device. For me that shows sgs lacks hardware for hardcore games.

Let me see this video. I'm calling you out on this, so post a link. I want to see gameplay from ALL of the games you just listed, and if I see absolutely no lag at all then you'd have proved your point. I'm not expecting 60 fps on each of those games, but if you can even achieve 35+ constantly, then it's definitely lag free.

It doesn't, I'm on darky's 10.2.2 now and shadow gun plays smooth as hell, with default it was at like 10fps, now just seems standard 30+fps...
I'd recommend flashing an ICS rom, as the UI is awesome and I also feel like the games/apps run smoother.

Naa, It's only on build #13 at the moment and isn't final release so it won't be super-stable like darky's rom.

Edit2: still lags, guess to blame gameloft on this one
Edit: installing temaseks kang with etana kernel solved lags.
Hi gangstar rio lags like hell when riding a car as if it was streaming models and textures from slow sd.. but its installed on internal memory. Other than that its smooth like butter.
Another poor optimized game from gameloft or its just me?
Im on djangomanouche 1.1 with gueste 1.5 kernel.
Does it run smooth for someone?

It wasn't running so smooth for me, around 15 fps, still enjoyable, but it always quitted after chapter 2 so I deleted it. I installed latest Nova Rom which made all the games run much smoother (Real Racing 2 for example). Maybe I'll give another try to Gangstar Rio, I just don't think it worth its 2Gb of data.
RR2 was always silky smooth for me, gangstar rio (maybe 30+ )too except those lags
