I can send sms, but i can't revice any... - LG Optimus Black

a while ago, i installed a Blackballer on my phone and it messed it up, even if i uninstalled it, i could not recive any mesages, since then i've taken my phone to the warranty, they said they have reflashed it, and the problem was gone, but once every 3 month or so, it starts acting up again and i have to go change my Orange Sim, they give me another one, and it works, ....
If i take my sim and put it in another phone the mesages arrive...
The Orange guys told me that it is very weird and its just some kind of Sim - phone incompatibility that happens very rarely, but for me 3 times now...
what do u guys think??? (when i sent my phone to the orange waranty the first time this happened i requested a reflash, but i am not so sure they did it... )

Problem making phone calls

Hi, I've owned my tytn II for a few months and in the last couple of weeks, the phone has been acting really odd. I have tried to make a call and it gives me the dreaded "beep beep beep" and ends the call every time i try. I've noticed this though; If i turn the phone off and back on, then as soon as it gets signal (like 3 minutes after load up??), i can make a call ... Then i cant make another after that ... Then if i send a text, as soon as i receive the "sms sent" notification, I can call again, if i try immediately.
It seemed like a software issue, so selected "clear storage" from the settings menu and still get the same problem. I've tried changing from my virgin sim to my vodafone sim and get the same problem. To make maters far worse, as well as not being able to dial out, nobody can dial in; it goes straight to voicemail. I am showing average to good reception when this happens.
One thing i have noticed since the problem started is that the "G" symbol at the top of the phone is now showing "3G", but i haven't changed area and don't recall it saying 3G before. I haven't changed any settings and haven't got any new software ... Its at factory standard, 100%.
Does anyone know what I should do as I'm getting ready to brick the phone just for the sake of it. I've had the Wizard for over 2 years and I never had 2 restore it once ... this phone is REALLY bugging me. I'm honestly thinking of keeping the wizard and selling this one on ebay for say £180 or something, just to get rid of it.
Also, I've noticed the battery is draining faster recently. The phone is about 5 months old.

Did u try to turn of the 3g reception?
If no, try to turn it of in settings/personal/phone/band and in network type select GSM(or in comm manager turn the 3G off).
Mikulec, you are a god ... I guess i'm just getting angry at the phone because I haven't even started playing with it yet and its just so much more tempermental than my old wizard. It was to the point that I am still using the wizard as my main phone and the newer tytn II just sits at home all day! As it appears so far though, it definitely has worked, so thank you.

happy to help u bro, the kaiser is a good toy, u just need to play with it.
This along with the faster battery drain is the first sign of a radio hardware failure. If in a few weeks you start losing network even with 3G off, or can feel your phone gets warm even on standby then you'll already know what to do... send it for repair.
When I send it in for repair, do I need to install the normal rom/etc? Before I installed the rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416278), I had no issues whatsoever. Will they actually replace what they need to even if it is working under the stock rom?
Actually, I just checked with 3G off, and I'm still getting the same 3 beeps. Anyone know what's up?

My friend that has kaiser also and usually flash his phone once or twice a week and had it repaired alot and they have never said anything about his ROM
but then we live in Sweden and maybe we have other rules then you have
It's better to restore original ROM and SPL (there's a guide in the Wiki for that) before sending it back. Once you've done that you can check if it works again - obviously if it does with the original ROM then don't send it back.

[Q] Lots of problems with my SGS

so, i've been using xda for a while now and i would like to start thanking all the contributors and the nice android community there is.
today i'm posting my 1st post and it's not for good reasons...
i got my sgs [i9000 international] on september and i have to say it has been nothing but problems.
it was working ok but then came along the 1st issue - unable to receive text messages. it would just stop to receive them and i would have to place the sim card on another phone receive the 50 sms or so i was supposed to have been receiving and then place the sim card back on the sgs and it would be fine for 5 days or so and the problem would begin again and i must say walking around with 2 mobile phones is just stupid when i only need 1...
in order to solve this and some other lags the phone had i decided to update to 2.2. in portugal there's no official update in kies (at least for me...) so i decided to go custom rom. i went with doc's rom BUJP8 V9.0.1 non-wipe and then voodoo's lag fix and i finally had the mobile phone i always wanted. then came along another issue - unable to receive phone calls (it doesn't receive sms and phone calls, what kind of a mobile phone is this?!). when someone is calling me, the phone lights up, it says there's no network available, it regains the signal and i don't even know who called!
now, i don't know what to do, i have a sgs that just doesn't work and i don't know what i'm supposed to do. this thing cost me a lot of money and i just don't want to waste it, all i really want is a proper mobile phone, i want the sgs!
i would appreciate any help, tell me if i've done something wrong, what i can do to have this working.
thanks in advance
~galaxydroids
ps: sorry for the english, as i've said i'm from lisbon, portugal
the attachment shows the sgs info after the custom rom flash
Sounds really weird indeed.
Have you tried hard-reseting your phone?
Does it still do the same after a hard-reset?
Maybe there is something wrong with the phones hardware it you keep loosing signal, where other phones works perfectly.
I would say, try putting in stock ROM (2.1 for Portugal?) and see it the problems still occur. If they do, maybe you should send it in for repair.
so i was kind of avoiding the hard reset but went for it.
now the phone is...well... isn't. it did everything, rebooted and now the two led buttons are lighted up and the phone randomly vibrates. that's it. it's been like this for quite some time now. is this supposed to happen?
Mine started to do that after a reboot also I just reinstalled the rom and its working for now.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
how did you reinstall the rom? i can't even connect it to the computer...
Using download mode, I guess...
yeah well i can't get into download or recovery mode, neither one of them, i've tried all the combos with the keys...
if i'm unable to get into download mode how can i use odin?
my guess is that your problem might be due to your carrier... I don't know over there in portugal, but I've always heard vodafone isn't very good....
I have same phone, international version, bought on sept. mine came from handtec.co.uk...
if your phone is like mine, you should be able to enter download mode, just hold down the volume down key + home key + power key.. in that order, you should see your phone boot to download mode.
Hope it helps

Problem With HTC One PN071.

Hi All,
firstly i would like to say that the phone i am having an issue is the HTC One From Telstra in australia....
ok now we have that out of the way...... this phone is my fathers and he needs it for work so me being able to fix it is urgent....
afew weeks ago the phone downloaded an update over 4g and resulted in being corrupted in the download (my father prob drove into a low signal area as he is a truck driver) after this happened his phone started rebooting its self.... it would not get a network connection and it would make it as far as the lock screen and reboot and thats as far as it would go...... it fixed itself up somehow and booted up fine got a network connection and so on.... once i got to the home screen i got a message on screen saying that it attempted to do a software update but the download became corrupt (600+mb download) so i connected to wifi and tried again... 30 minutes later the update was installed and his phone was working good as new...... fast foward 2 weeks to this morning and his phone started playing up again.... this time u could get to the home screen and use it but it would reboot itself again in less than 5 minutes..... and during the time that it is running it isnt detecting the sim card.... ive tried his sim card in my galaxy note 3 and it works without an issue so the sim isnt the problem in any way shape or form... what i need to know is how can i fix this.....
here is what i am thinking of doing
backup his phone
find out how to restore the firmware through recovery (his phone is still under warrenty though so i dont want to do anything to void that)
the one problem i have is that i can not get a backup of this phone because it reboots itself..... any ideas??? i will love u guys forever if your able to help?
Thanks
or failing that is there any way i can restore the firmware without losing data on the internal storage?
Go to warranty. Most of things you do here will void warranty.

HTC One M7 will not charge or turn on, Help!

Hiya, Remember this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/htc-one-m7-stuck-boot-loop-t3028651/page1
Well, we got it working and everything. We used twrp to flash cyanogen mod snapshot (cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-m7.zip) and then flashed gapps right after (gapps-kk-20140606-signed). Everything went fine and the phone was stable. This morning we ended up putting in my friends SIM card. It worked for a moment and then the data stopped working. Stumped we made a call and found out the device was blocked. This deactivated my friends SIM. We do a IMEI Search on Swappa and the phone comes up as reported stolen. Well bummer. At least the phone still works. Well later in the day, my friend starts to use the phone generally on his WiFi and starts to have issues when he installed Facebook and tried to open it, the phone started to lag and he decided to reset the phone. It booted back up fine, then started to lag again. Something about Google now I think popped up and then the phone froze again. he restarted the phone. he got to the HTC logo and it froze. He restarted it again, and now it won't boot. I can say the battery was at about 15% when this did happen. I've had the phone connected to my portable charger all day. I am not sure what to do. I've tried the bright light trick and that didn't work. Any suggestions?

As the guy says above, however if it is your phone, then get in touch with your network operator and ask them whats going on, the phone has been IMEI blocked by the network and theres nothing you can do to get it working again, you cant even flash a rom as during setup it checks IMEI, and will just reboot loop when it fails to register.

I would turn it in to the police. You know, it's just the fact that this phone didn't come from somewhere local, it came from about 5 states away. On top of that, I was reading some articles and found out that sometimes the network will mark it as stolen and block the IMEI since the original owner did not pay their bill. I bought this phone from ebay. I still have to get my money back, and I need to give the seller a chance to respond, as maybe this is all a misunderstanding. I called the network. They couldn't look up the IMEI or anything for them to contact the original owner. I was told that to get it unblocked the owner of the phone would have to call and report it as not stolen. Also, seanie, are you saying due to the IMEI block, the phone is acting like it is?

The IMEI block would explain it not booting fully into a rom, but are you saying it not charging either ?
If you brought it from ebay I would file a case myself if it was me with paypal and explain what the fault was, paypal will just give you his address to send it too, send it registered post, as soon as it arrives and you have proof of that, paypal will give you your money back, the seller wont get a say in it, ive done it myself before where a seller has sold me faulty goods without me knowing.

Yes, it's not charging either. The reason I haven't gone to paypal yet is I want to give seller time to try and resolve the problem. My friend really wanted this phone. On top of that, WE FIXED THE PHONE! It was broken originally. If it does turn out to be the imei being the problem and the seller gets it back, gets the imei unblocked and it works, he can sell the phone for more. It may not be working now, but I don't feel it's fair for me to get what I bought it for back. That's why I am taking a different route.

the charging problem could be a few different possibilities, I would try the cheapest option first, the charger and the lead, failing that, you will have to think about things like the charging port or the battery itself, not an easy job being sealed units.

Of course. I don't have any other micro-usb cables. I guess I'll have to wait till later. What I can say is that that I want to confirm the phone will not boot a custom rom if the imei is blocked? Also, I'll note this issue occured after I called ATT to ask them about the phone now that I think about it.

phone restarts itself randomly

so this is the story,
few weeks ago I had a problem with my Bluetooth connectivity, I took my phone to my service giver here and they replace my mainboard, since then, the phone just reset itself randomly every now and then. it can be after hours or after minutes. must of the time when it's not in use.
I can only spot it if I see it happens or after the reset cause I have a sim password.
I took the phone to get service again but all they do is to fully restore it and then say it's ok. which is.. not, and I took it there twice by now.
I thought that it might be because of some app, but I can't see how an app on a non-root device had the ability to reset it on it's own, and more then that, I didn't install anything new since before it started.
giving my service here on the official retailer Is this, does anyone have an idea of what can I do beside keep putting it to repair again and hope they will spot it?
as I said, it was restored several time by Samsung retailer here, and nothing.

Phones may restart randomly due to wrong bootloader being installed on it, i am not sure about your case though, if possible you can download your phone specific rom from sammobile.com and flash it using odin, more detailed information can be found on the forum about flashing rom. If not, then there is nothing more you can do but take it to the service center again for proper fixing.
ok. thanks! I don't want to try and change any stuck software so they won't be able to tell me that that's my fault, so hopefully someone will be able to see that there's a problem...
