xRecovery and cwm recovery do the same job or different ???
similar.
xrecovery can't run an app from a zip, cwm recovery can.
ok
which one is easy to use???
from where can i download xRecovery ???
Similar, but not the same, Xrecovery is more stable and reliable, but CWM has more options.

no, cwm is stable. it is the recovery for almost every rom now. if it wasnt stable then half of xda's devs wouldnt use it. i respect your point and yes, cwm has more options. im gonna be honest but xrecovery is obsolete now. but you have a good point

The easiest way is download x8toolbox from this forum just use search, with it you can install both cwm and xrecovery with just one.click

Yes it will, point is if you dont wanna unlock botloader and wana install roms, there is roms which must be installed via xrecovery and which with cwm, so its good to have both....

1. If English isn't your native language then use Google translate.
2. You can enter the recovery mode by pressing power + volume up + volume down + home button simultaneously.
3. You CANNOT install S 5830 custom roms on the 'i ' version.
4. There was no need to label this thread urgent...!!

Ok I must say that I am idiot .... I soft bricked my phone like 5 times and now with my default kernel (flashed it) ... I have a huge battery problem and link2sd crashing problem ...
I have SE xperia x8 11w22 ...
I've been trying for 2 days to install GINGERXD on my phone ... I don't know why I can't do it ...
I installed cyanogenmod on my htc tattoo in like 2 hours with no problem .. but x8 gives me a lot of trouble ...
Right now I have default kernel on my phone ... rooted with flashtool and I have some FREEXPERIA RECOVERY... superuser app icon is android robots head with the pirate thing on his eye ...
one more thing .. how can I replace my current recovery with the clockwork one
PLEASE HELP ME WITH FULL GUIDE HOW TO DO THIS THING ( I don't want to screw up my phone :/ )!!!!!!!!
edit: I do not want to unlock bootloader ... I am scared of getting my phone hard bricked .. so if I can't install gingerxd without unlocking bootloader, please reccomend me some other good rom based on cyanogenmod that can work without unlocking bootloader
Well, you are not an idiot because you can't flash a rom!!! Calm down and everything will be fine
Did you full wipe/factory reset before installation of the rom?
For the battery problem try "wipe battery stats"

Op, what version of gdx are you trying to flash? Better use cwm, and do a full wipe BEFORE flashing the rom. Just search xda for the tut on how to install cwm on your x8.
Btw, gdx can run on stock kernel, so there is no need for you to unlock your bl. But out of curiousity, what's the maufacturing date of your phone?

I don't remember ..I've tried so many thing ...
what I am gonna do right now is:
1. flash my phone to default again (with flashtool, but I won't root and install recovery in flashtool)
2. root phone with superoneclick (or that';s not the right way ? )
3. install cwm recovery ( I will search on xda for tut.)
4. put rom on sd
5. wipe factory data
5. install rom via cwm
that's it... I mean is that the way it should be done ? I'm kinda really nervous .. only thing I don't want is hard brick on my phone ...

Every way is safe if you follow instructions.
If you are experienced user with moving things around your system,do it manual,if you want the most simple way do it with x8toolbox.

It's just the same but with different interface and while cwm still uses vol rocker to navigate, twrp uses touchscreen. Both have the same functions (but in twrp, you need to mount everything first to flash rom). People always said that twrp is more user friendly but I don't really think so (some not so good things happened when I tried twrp). But in the end it's a matter of personal choice. I like cwm more because it looks almost the same as stock recoveries but with additional features and it's very easy to use too (because it's almost the same as stock). :good:
p/s: Cwm has touch interface too now
