[Q] CyanogenMod Having Uproariously Silly Battery Live - LG Thrill 4G

Well,
I'm pretty sure my battery life is based on like, a werewolf-system where my battery is amazing at the middle of a Month, and terrible on the full moon. Minus the killing, maiming, and wolfbane. Also, I'm pretty sure my Thrill has never become human through the true love of a young, beautiful woman. But I digress, my battery life sucks balls (basketballs to be specific). After installing the nightly builds, my phone was awesome because of having cyanogenmod. But today, going from 5:45 am to 9 am, using my phone as usual (Constantly playing music, thirty minutes web use, low brightness), it died faster than a backup character in the "walking dead".I could usually expect to have around 60-70% battery at then, but today it was 30% at that time, and died by two. Did I mess up on the Rom, any other schtuff, or is it just the nature of having an experimental build? Any feedback would be freaking awesome, and anybody who responds will win my trust, love, and support for the remainder of their life.
Thanks!!! You guys are freakin great!!

i know with my phone, after each reboot, my phone will show a completely different percentage of battery left.
Example : My phone does the clicking glitch and shows 58% left. After a quick reboot to calm the bugs, my phone will show 35%.
My battery seems to have a mind of it's own and will have good days and bad days.

I hear you out on this one...
Just this morning I unplugged my phone, texted for about an hour, killed all running apps, set the phone down, came back to it 4 hours later and I'm at 70% battery... and I'm WATCHING it drop.
This phone needs a ROM with better battery management, I'd pay for one.
Maybe something like Neutrino for the atrix 4g (That rom was godly)

i had nightly 1 till like number 12 came out. nightly 1 i never noticed the battery issue. then next one i flashed i noticed it. so i think somewhere something happened... also... has any one found a workaround for the echo in calls for the person we are calling as a result of the noise canceling mic not enabled properly?

I just LOLed at this thread.

Very Poor battery Life

First of all let me say, I got my Nexus One about 2 weeks ago.. Rooted and flashed Desire rom as soon as I got it..
I didnt like it it seemed to run slow.. So I flashed CM 5053 on it.. I can't remember if I wiped between flashes, but I think I did
Anyway, my battery life is totally crap, is there a correlation between not wiping and an improper CM5053 flash?
I have a friend with the exact same setup who gets like 5 more hours than I do
I fully charge to 100% battery drops to like 98% 2 mins after I unplug.. One full day at school minimal use and its like 15% when i get back, thats 9am - 5pm
Help!
PS, i've tried Task managers.. no bueno...
Try recalibrating the battery.

Ok thanks I'll try it.. So just to be clear, if I didnt wipe before Desire to CMOD its okay? No conflicts?
You should always wipe when switching ROMs.
I'd say wipe it all and re-partition

Also you can try using the undervolt kernel, i think it works fine for everybody. its always a bit hard to be certain, but it gives you more battery time
I'm having the same problem... Any fix?

and try an undervolted kernel. I recommend one from kmobs.
I am sure you have read a lot of battery threads already so rather than rehash considering your struggling pretty hard I would suggest going to a rom that is known for better battery life right off the bat. Enomther and the newer version of cm are both better and benefit further from an undervolt. For cm I would consider grabbing the bundle rom with pershoots undervolt already built in. Less hassle and you are already familiar with it. After that at you will be on a less thirsty rom and can start looking at the little stuff like turning off apn in weak singal areas and the rest.
I use enom and UV and my battery life doesn't beat my old G1, but I was comparing it to my friends 3GS and it was on par. I really wish they stuck a bigger battery in these suckers. Battery life is the one thing that's holding me back from going Desire rom. I would absolutely love to run desire on my N1
I agree if you search Google iPhone users also complain me killing their battery in 6 hours flat. so I don't feel too bad about it.
I like to think that my friend kills his iphone in the same time I do with 2x the screen rez, ram, faster processor with 10 widgets running and live wallpaper
Your phone would not of booted if you didnt wipe, No matter what I try, I cannot get a desire to cm or cm to desire without a wipe. I either get a bootloop or am stuck at the bootloader.
hey dude, i had the same prob. couldn't get my battery last more then 6 to 10 hours depending on the use. i read all the threads i could find and did try all the teeks and apps from the market i found. did get some small results, but never nothing relevant. only if left the phone on stand by all day without playing with it i reached 14h. but i mean really not touching my phone. that option simply wasn't for me because i didn't spend more than 600 € to leave it on stand by all day. so, i did the following: went to by at espansys online a official spare battery plus a unofficial dock from "ORA" were i now can charge both the phone and the spare battery - can charge both at the same time, but that's not necessary because since i always have another fully charged battery and only have to change the empty one on the phone. the phone gets a full one and at that time i put the empty one in the charger. after max 3 hours it is fully charged and i can use(after turning the alimentation so it don't. continue charging) the dock to put the phone on it having it were ever i am (work, home). when you are at a secretary it's much easier to navigate through the phones menu having it in the vertical... at least for me. even better is the fact that my official spare battery lasts at least more 1/3 more time giving me 16 to 20 hours depending on use. even that is after the best pro i did get is this: i have no need the restrict me since i use one battery for lets say 10h with the horse one, after that i change. and get more 16 hours (my Last day of use, intense use). spent 96€ in both items. for me outcomes any other solution i read on the threads mostly because i don't want for now to root my phone. it's only my example but i gess yous guys should know about. if i wasn't a knew member i would post some pictures, but you can simply go to the espansys web site and look for "ora cradle for Nexus One" and off course the official spare battery. both very easy to find
i even get around the fact google didn't realleased N1 in Portugal, some don't dispatch the battery to Portugal. also the official home dock don't charge a spare battery. that's all.
Cyan 5.0.5 has really bad battery life for some reason.
Upgrade to 5.0.6 or try Enoms ROM, both of which give me mush better battery life.
Oh and switch to 2G until you actually need fast data (i.e you are web surfing / downloading something). I use a little 2g/3g switch from the market to do this quickly.

Battery Performance Post "No-Do"

I just wanted to share with everyone my great battery experience I am having after installing the Microsoft "No-Do" update. If anyone else is having noticeable battery changes after No-Do, post here and let us know!
My first impression was, it actually diminished. But then again, its too early for me to back that up, as my usage was way over normal. I was playing a lot with the devise trying to check its performance and stuff. But, I'll update after couple of days again.
I would've have to say one thing though, the Camera is fixed now. Actually it was fixed with the Pre-NoDo itself for me. Now I'm not getting over exposed or ghostly pictures with flash.

I discovered something which i doubt people would believe but the temperature of the battery when i watch videos decreased (Quite absurd) but before the update the battery was very hot to the extent i close my phone and take out the battery to cooldown. After the Nodo update the battery only warms up and never heats up.
i turn my phone on at 430 every morning and start streaming music and podcasts at 530, i get off work at arround 200 and still have about 10 percent battery and thats nonstop audio the whole time and 3g and wifi on screen set to auto.
I have my battery last for only half day. 0800-1500.
i think battery last a bit longer....
No difference for me.
Since i don't use 3g or WiFi that much, i have to recharge it after around 30-35 hours.
Mine has gotten better as the days go on...first day it didn't last that long.

Droid 3 [XT860] Arrived

Well it arrived yesterday, and I'm super-happy to say that so far (knock on wood) it appears to be essentially flawless; no screwy keys, no bad backlight, no boot-looping or overheating or any of the other issues that seem to plague some of the batches of phones. I also got the Moto 1930mAh battery, so battery life shouldn't be a big issue.
I was worried about the screen quality (a common D3 gripe), but I gotta say, after being accustomed to an older, smaller, scratched-up, lower-res, innaccurate, resistive touch screen on my HTC Tilt 2 for the last two years, I'm totally happy with the D3's screen; aside from it being slightly dimmer than some of the super-bright/saturated Super-AMOLEDs, it looks fine. I looked pretty closely and watched the text scroll in the Home interface and on web pages, and I never saw this "blurriness" that apparently drives all the super-picky screen elitists to hate PenTile. It looks great to me, probably due to the high res.
When it comes to navigating Android, I pretty much just stare at it and drool like a catatonic chimp, occasionally poking at buttons/icons, and dragging stuff here and there. Years of Windows Mobile haven't left me very Android-inclined I guess, but it looks intuitive and I've heard that it may be a slightly better OS than WinMo, so I'll figure it out.
And, as expected, the keyboard blew away any expectations I had. It's awesome.
So far I love the thing.
I'm a little scared to root; can I brick my phone while trying to root it?
Nice! I see: root! It can't be easier. Just double click!
I'd wait a bit before root. In general I say wait for an SBF of a sort. Soon we should see an update to address the bluish camera, power leaking car dock and few other minor annoyances. Hopefully recovery files will leak soon.

Well it's been 2 days now. I've figured out how to drag icons around and add/remove them from my Home screen, updated some stuff, and downloaded/played GRave Defense HD (fun game btw).
I left it to charge all night, and plucked it from the chrager at exactly 7am yesterday when I left for work. I've used it moderately so far; watched a few YouTube vids, played some GRave Defense, texted a fair amount, checked Gmail, explored the menus a lot and fiddled around with it quite a bit. So far the battery is down to about 48% in a period of 30 hours (7am one day to 1pm the next day) without being turned off at all. I'm betting it will hit two days before needing a recharge, althoug with heavier usage it mayonly last 30-36 hours per charge. Still, not too bad at all for such a monster smartphone. I'm actually pretty impressed. I do have the 1930mAh Moto battery though. Which, I must add, doesn't even add any noticeable size increase to the phone.
Gotta say I LOVE this phone so far; I definitely picked the right phone for me; I can't find a single thing wrong with it, really. I don't know what people are *****ing about as far as the interface being slow or the screen being in any way blurry; you practically have to look at the thing under a friggin microscope to even see the slight cross-hatched PenTile dithering. I think people are just looking for excuses to complain. Of course, I don't have that much for a basis of comparison; I'm not really spoiled with all the latest phone technology, having only a Tilt2 with its old 528MHz single-core processor and buggy-ass, laggy TouchFLO-3D-on-top-of-Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system for comparison.
the blurry thing is hard to see at first.. but after a while you will notice it.. it doesnt bug me so much but its there lol.. overall i love the phone too.. great purchase.. i just got into the rooting and exploring android further scene.. rooting is easy .. its literally 2 clicks away.. cant harm anything.. but from there.. becareful what u do .. u dont want to delete the wrong thing .. then ur sol till an SBF comes out..
I agree it is a good little phone and once you get used to it you get to liking it. I am finding that it is a nice phone to be able to dink around with. My only thing is I haven't found a launcher I just love. Blur seems slow, as does ADB, and Go Launcher was buggy. But other then that it seems like a good little phone.

Oooh, I just figured out that I can forcibly turn up the brightness in the Display settings and the display looks brilliant in a half-lit room. I don't want it eating up battery though so I'll keep it down around 60% or so.
I loaded DICE player and it literally crashes and reboots my phone EVERY TIME I load any kind of video file. Craptacular. I'll stick with MoboPlayer.
I rooted my unlocked XT860 quite easily using PSouza's Tool (version 1.06). It worked very well! I was afraid as well but didn't see anyone in the forum that said they bricked when they tried it.
I semi-bricked my phone by trying to flash one of the ROMs out there (Steel Droid), so I warn you - don't do any ROMs until they are released as international-friendly! (or specifically built for our XT860's).
To unbrick, I flashed the Chinese ME865 SBF. It's nice to have my phone back but it's on Android version 2.3.5, which is currently not root-able.
So there *is* a way out in case of catastrophe, but it's not as nice as having a stock Bell SBF.
I also rooted and added Hashcodes recovery to my XT860, but like everyone else, I'm impatient for something to flash. It's like our phones are all dressed up, but have nowhere to go
Its slightly depressing as well, surfing all the other sites, the popular ones and some not so popular...there's just no dev action on this phone. No forums even where we can exchange information. Well, except in here, hidden in the D3 forums.
I can't complain about the phone at all, to be honest, as I won it in one of MobileSyrups giveaways.

Well just as an update, the battery ran until about 8pm the following night, from 7am the previous morning. That's about... What? 37 hours? When I plugged it in, it still had 10% as well, but it was going down pretty quick, likely would not have lasted another hour or two. Not bad at all though; 37 hours without a recharge while surfing, texting, and downloading/installing hordes of new apps is certainly a pretty good time-frame for a smart phone these days.
Just downloaded/installed Pandora Radio, it is the dog's bollocks (that's British for "Awesome").

Since the times of milestone one, those big numbers are surfacing.
Usually they came from people that doesen't use the always on data or is used to keep the phone in 2g.
With my xt883 and the extended battery i'm happy if i reach the end of the day...
Well OK, to be fair, I work in a secured area and can't bring my phone in, and must leave it in a little locker outside the door. This happens about 5-6hrs a day, so you could subtract up to 10 or 12 hours of actual usage time out of that 37 hours, but I made sure that at no point was the phone ever turned off or put in sleep mode or airplane mode; it was always on and had signal.
Wow impressive. I wish my battery life was that long. But unfortunately CDMA isn't as friendly. But I can make it through the day with over 50% left if I do it right.
I'm lucky if I get 8 hours, regardless of use

My stock XT862 (debloated though) does about 12 hours on heavy usage. Does 16h on normal usage
I think my only regret so far was getting the Moto 1930mAh battery; sinc then I've heard amazing things about the Mugen power 3600mAh one. Oh well, the Moto battery definitely pulls it weight.

WHAT?? That's a D3?? Holy crap. Maybe I will stick with my 1930mAh bat for a bit... how's ur battery life? Is it worth the bulk?

How's the battery after a couple 100 charges?

Hello everyone, I'm thinking of buying the Razr i since it suits my budget.
Orange are currently selling it for £170 which includes a £20 top up.
I've heard brilliant things about the battery of the Razr, and that's exactly what I'm looking for, something with alot of battery.
But I was just wondering, to some of you long term Razr i users out there that are still using the phone today, does the battery die faster now that you have charged it many times? I read somewhere that the battery goes down hill after around 500 charges. This is an even bigger problem since the battery isn't easily accessible like other phones.
Oh, and can you guys give me a little review on the battery for day to day use? I'm talking about occasionally playing games, web browsing, texting, maybe 60 minutes worth of calls a day etc.
Thanks.
Hello.
I´m one of those "younger" users of Motorola Razr i, but can tell something:
Nearly every Accumulator is going downhill after about 500 charges. It´s just nature of todays technologies. I can tell, that I have some phones after 500 charges, and while it can idle for a week, it is happy to work (navi, video) only for three and half hours before it dies. You can´t help it. Hopefully it won´t be so expensive to change your accu after two years, or there will be far superior motorola at that time, and I´m pretty sure, you will want to buy it again
Now the daily use:
If I do some torture to my Razr i, it can stay alive for a whole day. A LOT of web browsing and chatting, some calls and messages, slight playing and camera shooting. Everytime I do that, I want to put my phone on charger before sleep, but I must chat a lot longer, because that thing does not want to die (How about 3300mAh in razr MAXX?) Once I just check my e-mails and some forums and do a short (10-15min) call, it can live for full three and half days. Obviously I must set some smart actions like turn off wifi and GPS once I don´t use it directly, or check e-mails just only every hour. If I don´t touch it, which didn´t happen yet, it will survive over A WEEK easily.
And in T-mobile is Razr i for £150 +£10 top up (currently out of stock though)....
Razr i is one of the top phones if we talk about battery life so whatever you have at the moment, this little fella beats it (most likely ).
Check out this post from Infinity ROM thread - this is extreme case though.
In thisthread are stats from users so might worth check this out too.
I have it since december of last year, and no battery issues since that .
I have 12 hours of continue use the best!!!!
Intel device - Razr i Owner
Hit thanks if i help you or you like my style
Don't forget: 500 loading CYCLES! A cycle is from empty to full, not from loading from 30% to 80%, just for information.
Battery life is very good, don't worry, use it.

Nexus 6 or not

I have a Nexus 5.. Love using it.. The size, the snappiness(even after a year of use ), the so so camera(wish it could be better). Basically it does everything i throw at it. BUT the battery life!!! It has gone from bad to worse. I got a moto 360 and it needs the gps and the bluetooth to be always on.. Also i have a few work mail accounts synced of late hence i can manage 7-8 hrs of max use.. Is the Nexus 6 any better in terms of battery use?. Or do i have carry the battery bank whereever i go.. From what i have read from reviews, its not that big a jump in terms of battery life mainly because of a qHD display. What was your experience coming in from another phone and are you happy with overall experience of the phone
Coming from an S4, the battery life is pretty good.
Granted I don't play games, but I usually round out a 16 hour weekday with 40% or so left with nothing but a few apps greenified.
I'll not gonna bother quoting SOT, but just say that it's more than adequate for my medium usage level.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
I've only ran my Nexus 6 for 1 full day, but it seemed much better than my n5 for that day. That said, I dont use either under the same conditions you do.
I'll just wait it out for a few more replies and then take the plunge i suppose..
I've been running the N6 since the end of December. Most days, it seems to last more than a full day. I usually work from 9:30am to 9pm. If I have a 100% charge before I leave for work, then, even with being on the phone all day, running games, email, internet, and whatever else, the N6 will usually last me till about 11pm under heavy use. Under light use, I've had it last till 4pm the next day.
