I find boot times can be greatly reduced by not rebooting your phone

Can anyone test HDMI landscape and report if it works?

Sounds interesting...will give it a shot!

Why do you guys need screenshots?...weird. can't you see its literally cm7 with one theme tweak?
Sent from my unlocked Motorola Atrix.

Basically cm7 with 4G icon

For what its worth, removing a standard bootanimation wont speed up bootup at all, and I've yet to see any proof that increasing dalvik heap beyond 80 has any quantifiable positive impact (in fact most would agree 64 is the golden point). In fact, you may experience negative impact.

It does a little bit, under my tests, the stock bootanimation is quite large (almost 2MB and the empty one i have here is only less than 4KB), it needs to load and play that.
Increasing heap is just placebo, everything is smooth for me

Would people prefer Launcher Pro or ADW Launcher? I prefer Launcher Pro, thinking about making it as the default. what do you guys think?

I find Launcher Pro to be the fastest launcher with CM7. I used to use go launcher ex and have repeatedly given it more chances but it has become so bloated and it is noticeably slower than LP. Also used ADW for a bit, but always come back to LP for its blistering speed (currently with weekly #5 and faux's 1.3 kernal...).

You sound exactly like me! However, have you tried ADW Launcher EX? it is more optimized and uses hardware acceleration on the ICS ROMS - I caught myself a copy during the $0.10 sale google had during the holidays. Still came back to Launcher Pro lol

Another issue is that Launcher Pro seems to seize advancement, I think it is abandoned?

I use ADW launcher EX, can't seem to get used to another one.
Loving the ROM, however there's only one issue I'm having, sometimes the status bar gets stuck when dismissing notifications individually; tried to remove one by sweeping it to the side and it just sticks midway through, after that the statusbar buttons and of course notifications don't work. It has happened twice already.

Launcher pro is way better than adw even if its hasn't been updated. So smooth. He occassiobally updates. I don't know why people love go launcher so much. What a childish launcher.

Not sure, does always do that when you dismiss one by one? I don't usually do that but I will have to test it. Probably CM7.2 issue?

Summary:
A Highly optimized Eclair providing an accelerated experience. Heavily themed for your viewing pleasure .
I've spent the last month tweaking and making things *faster* and although my todo list is still large for this build I didn't want to delay this any further.
The Cream Filling:
Some of the features in RLS 1 (06-17-2010) include:
More performance enhancements and tweaks.
Added HUGE APN list!
Bluetooth audio fixed (thanks kallt_kaffe)
Updated LauncherPro
Option to choose the number of icons per row in both portrait and landscape mode within launcher
Added backgrounds to Wallpaper gallery
New app drawer opening speed option: Here you can tweak the speed of the opening/closing effect for the app drawer. Zero is the slowest, 10 makes it appear/disappear instantly. (Advanced settings)
Selectable backgrounds for shortcut dock
New sense like home screen indicator
15 shortcuts available in dock now. Swipe the dock to the left (down in landscape) to reveal 5 additional shortcut spaces. Now swipe it again for 5 more!
Added native Alarm Clock (by request from a few users)
Full Changelog / feature list can be found at bottom of this post.
What doesn't work
Camera
Known Issues
Voice Search wait/force close messages on start. As this is a pre-release beta, I am working on fixing this issue.
Installation:
*** On first boot a lot of optimizations are running. For the best experience, it is advised to wait 10 - 15 mins after you see the initial Android setup screen and during the first google syncronization process. After which the speed dramatically improves. You should see an even greater performance jump after first reboot. ***

Congrats man!!! Looks awesome. I cant wait to get my new device going to try this out. Great work once again
first to install so far very nice once i find an issue i will report
Edit
I have noticed a few things.
1. there are graphic issues with some of the overlays (in other words some items are cut off) I am trying to find where i saw that at
2. no facebook intergration
3. Google voice does not work
4. when calls come in they will vibrate but not play the tone you have set or show picture you have set for them
5. using the default messaging app it does not pull your contact names via letters you have to type out their numbers for it to find the person.
Can't download
Anyone else having issues downloading? Can't get to site from link.
Ok, after about 10 trys it is downloading. Can't wait.
THANKS Myn!
Has anyone using this build used in the past Incubus's Super Eclair Lite Build and can compare the two (performance wise or other differences)?
EDIT: Will this build fit entirely on NAND and is it smaller or bigger then the Super Eclair Lite Build.
no offense to Incubus but this build blows his out of the water. So smooth even when it was not over clocked. with the over-clock it is even faster. Incubus I enjoy your hard work so dont let this discourage you in continuing your hard work.
i was thinking that it was time that best one moder finally come to eclair
Thank you, i'll test it asap

wow myn this by far the sexiest build i have seen!
can wait to try it out!!
this needs the eclair nbh right?
hey, myn - i assume we still have exchange mail, how about contacts and calendar? those have been keeping me on tattoo atm... some of the other eclair builds have synced contacts with exchange, so i'm hoping...?
looking forward to running it either way, nice work.
i just got a CRC error when extracting the 320x480nand version
i'm going to redownload to see if it was just a corrupt download
edit: a second download of the zip produced the same CRC error
anyone else seeing the same error?
Thanks for the new build....very cool
But i can not start wifi with my polaris and sdcard nomorootfs (use your zimage you suggest)
Any idea or fix
Thanks for answers...with kind regards...Alex
3G / WiFi not working
Hi myn,
Just installed it on my Kaiser, and can't access 3G and WiFi. Do they work for anybody else? (the Mobile Networks check is grey, and if I push it, it thinks for a while and still remains grey).
Any help, anybody? My network is Vodafone Romania.
I have also tried Incubus's eclair, your Warm Donut, and now this, with the haret from your original package.
Thanks,
Ovi

240 on SD using 29-5 zImage, sys and data on Ext2, is running smooth as silk. Looking forward to running this through the gauntlet on it's way to becoming my primary build.
As usual, great work Myn. Thanks!
lol i'm just talking about the setup at the beginning but its scary fast compared to the other builds I've used. Waited about 30 minutes before using and the performance is simply a-mazing. Everything was installed on NAND, and there is 100mb free for apps.
Will let post again after I have filled up the phone again or encounter an error.
Thanks so much for the build Myn!

No problem. I updated the original post with a corrected image. The font alignment was off and it was bugging me...so if you want to use it just resave the new one.
Downloading now and getting it on my SD so I can install it and play with it tomorrow. Can't wait.
Since you're planning on having lots of quick releases as stuff is fixed, you might want to list what works and what doesn't (not just what's been added) or else people will get confused really quickly.
For example, does release 1 contain dzo's gps fix?
I just don't want to see your work complained about repeatedly because of a little confusion on a bleeding edge build.
I'm looking forward to giving this a shot!
bugs?
Are there bugs on this build?
I would love to know how well this performs and what it does and doesn't do atm.

Updated first post with what works and doesnt. It performs very well and calls come in fast.
wow nice to see how fast you guys are getting New stuff to test. So thx im Going to test it this night; ) im really looking forward to this but damn work must be done before :$
Hey videoplayback is working? YouTube or from file?
Sent from my HTC Polaris using XDA App
Wow this looks awesome, can't wait to try it.
Any idea when you'll have time to update this with dzo's gps fix?
I'm just waiting for that then i'm switching over from eclair.
Thanks for all your builds man I don't know how you find the time to do all this work.
seems to me this is going to be FAST many ppl on it!
thanks for your great job
--- does gprs connection work? ---
just wanted to know if there is a way to connect to gmail account
thanks
wow!!!! nice work jeff!!! your really bringing life back to the vogue!
Just tried this build on my Kaiser and it works very nice!
Respect for the work.
Personally I prefer LauncherPro over ADW also, but the Froyo launcher is also pretty nice.
I'll try the next release when wifi is fixed.
Great work!
Just installed. Looks nice and clean!
Bugs so far : Multi-touch kb fc when typing my name in the email config.
Browser hangs FC also
Awesome job. Will try it today and report!
So after installing the build here is the deal.
Definitely faster than any Eclair build I have used. Everything just seems to run much smoother. Everything seems to fit alright too with 240 x 320 at 115.
Two things that def. need to be included in the build are the modem app and the screen calibration app.
Also, when looking at my backed up apps in Astro, it is showing them as having a value of 0 for file size and won't install any. I downloaded a different app installer from the market but have yet to try it.
Not necessary, but nice to have would be that messaging widget from your other builds (I can't find it in the market and don't have the newest version backed up) as well as AudioManager which I also can't find in the market.
(stupid market search sucks)
Overall though, this is great and I think FroYo is going to be a huge step for the Vogue. Well done getting this out so fast Incubus and Dzo
EDIT: also, someone said on the Fresh FroYo thread that 3rd party camera apps work. May want to throw one of those in there too if possible.

Yeah, he said they work just fine. That means Dzo was correct in his assessment that it's not our fault the camera won't work the Froyo's native camera app.
So, if RLS2 has a 3rd party camera app and screen calibration I think I'll give this one a shot. Nothing else is left out that I absolutely need to use my phone day to day.

FAQ:
Q: I've applied the transparent titlebar mod and am running Launcher Pro but the titlebar isn't transparent?
A: At this time, this is currently a limitation of Launcher Pro.
Q: What's the best kernel?
A: As ever device is built differently with different thresholds for undervolting the best option is to try each one with your phone. What may work well for one persons phone, may not be ideal for yours.
Q: Sometimes after I flash a new rom my Market downloads stall. Is there a fix?
A: Please see this.
Q: How do I install your Swype theme?
A: The method documented here has proven to have repeatable results. A video by transitoyspace is also available here.
Q: How do I enable and configure APPS2SD?
A: Use this well documented method here.
Q: Do you have any tips on conserving battery life?
A: See this great EVO Battery Saving Tips thread here.
**** yea!!!
Been waiting for an un-tampered port of this. Thanks.
Looks Great. Downloading now. Do you recommend a certain kernal? Thanks.
kernel is included in the rom. it will flash with the rom. all other kernels are untested

incubus26jc and I are good friends. We've worked together for a long time on past projects. We're both Vogue android alumni.
We've been working on this for awhile.
Ahh... I remember the days of Myn's Warm Donut. As a fellow Vogue user, I'm glad to see both of you around here. Nice!!
This looks intriguing. I'm going to have to f' with this tomorrow night when I have a little time.

What part of ADB is not working??

That would bring some life to my atrix!!

We can wait a little bit inbetween this awesome releases.
Im gonna put this rom on my phone now and I will report back with any findings I come across.
Thanks LEO!!
Hey Leo.
Had this up and running for a little bit now.
So far so good.
Im coming from CNA/ICS, and when I flashed the rom I only wiped dalvik and cash partition, and everything worked out great!
Still gonna see if I can figure out about the usb storage problem. Will let you know!
Tnx for the rom, keep the good work, is glad to see a new rom to try
One quick thing.
This rom comes with the DPI set to 220.
But the Atrix was designed for 240.
I changed it in the Rom control settings.
240 looks much better, and everything fits properly.
Gonna play around with other dimensions and see what looks the best!
I liked the initiative
good luck, then I download to test = D
you need the correct usb.apk from cm9 for usb mounts.
video wont work until cm9 fixes it.
adb, you need the correct adb /bin/ file
So I flashed one of Jokersax's new CM9 kenerls, 1.3 to be exact, and all I did was wipe the dalvik and it worked great.
I can't get into performance settings in the ROM control menu, it "unfortunately has stopped" on me. I dont know if its because of the kernel or not tho, because I didnt go to performance until after i flashed the new kernel. I think stevendeb25 is right about the usb.apk files and ADB bins.
I also changed my DPI to 260, up from native 240, and THIS IS HOW THE ATRIX SHOULD HAVE ALWAYS LOOKED! The icons fit PERFECT!
As always will report info as it comes
so far the best ics rom..thank you very much.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Dl now. Peace
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
Definitely will try it out!
Sent from the skies...
downloading now !!
do hw accelerated videos work, and is the multitouch issue addressed !
thanks...
and i think that replacing the usb.apk from any other cm9 rom should work for usb mounting or any usb mount market app !!
will try every possible option !!
I keep hearing great things about AOPK via twitter. Is this just a port?

It's actually AOKP .. not AOPK ... Android Open Kang Project..
the rom is quite buggy atm (like all other cm9/ics roms)
but much smoother than previous ics ones i tried !
when i open the browser, the notification bar gets corrupted !
also i cant enter the performance settings (it gives settings fc) !!
camera was good and didnt fc a single time !!
back to nottachtrix 1.3.0 for now !!
thanks for the rom !
Hey Leo I am willing to do some testing on this if you are going to be developing. For some insane reason this is the only ICS rom I can manage to load. Rom is nice an fast. Could test anything like the cam without getting the USB mounting to work.

I will try to do it in BUILD2.
freezenook,
Nice to see another rom, Im trying now.. looks good
TrOjAn
Thanks for this rom. Love the modded graphics. The settings app looks cool. Also the transparent menus and the borders look awesome. However I don't like the busy/loading animation (those 2 snakes orbiting each other - a bit much) and the text selectors (they are too big and look... idk... cheap and out of place) and I do believe the "3G stick" icon in the settings app is not modded and it also look out of place. Also the notification switches don't fit quite right in the notification popup (I think this was also present in stock, not sure though, but maybe it could be fixed).
Thanks again and great work!
so far so good with this rom
things i want from and verdit on:
wifi : works absolutely fine
video : fine (not tried netflix yet but so far so good on vid front)
lagging up: not happened yet
i have no boot animation, the tablet when powering up, looks dead, then the archos logo flashes up for a second then tablet is booted. works but is a bit scary in the "is it broken?" way
had a scare with charging, but hope that was only from 1st boot (no full charge since) and it struggled to take a charge, but hoping that was one of my chargers, not the rom
bar the small ironable niggles, loving this rom

Is it a stock video player from archos? If yes, this is the only way to watch videos from the tablet on TV through HDMI in a correct aspect ratio and screen resolution.
I found some bugs:
1. Then connect charger - show slow charge warning.
2. After disconnect from computer don't disappearing USB debugging, connection type and slow charge icons.

Ok. I found this problem too, but after first boot (after install) you must reboot tablet. This bug will disappear.
freezenook,
Would it be possible to get the jellybean keyboard on this rom? the one that lets you slide across keyboard like swype? think its called gesture input.
Good work, TrOjAn

It was official 4.0.28, move archos file to root, removed android kernel, and copied new ones.
Thanks.
