Hey guys my current setup is
the pre-rooted rom
Product Code: GT-I9305TADEVR (4.1.2) (EE UK)
PDA: XXBMA6
PHONE: XXBLL5
CSC: EVRBLL1
with stock recovery
and I'm very pleased with it so I don't really want to unroot. So I was wondering is there a way to hide my root for an app that I use for watching TV from my cable provider who requires the device to be unrooted. I found a couple of apps on playstore but one of em says it's not working with newer SGS devices, and the other one says I could permanently loose root. Does that leave me any options besides unrooting?
thx
I use TVCatchup and it works great with no issues about rooting, What app are you using ?

Well it's called d3 go, and it's not really a thing that you can choose. It's either that or don't use the service
How can I unroot it? Should I install a stock Rom with odin and if so how to know which one? By the way up untill yesterday I've been getting messages from software update that I can't update because I have the latest update installed, but now it says
Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available

Hi,
Sorry if it is already covered.
I have a Xperia TL with Android 4.1.2, build 9.1.F.1.120.
Is there an available root method?
I tried Bin4ry-v31 method 3 with no success. Then I tried method 2 and although super user is installed I can't get SU permission for any app so I suppose the process failed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

ask in the thread for that method,
or try doomlords method. look in the dev section.
It may be that you just need to update the SU binary in super user

Kingo Root is like one click and you are done. It's that easy.
Once you root your phone using Kingoroot...You can install Safestrap recovery. Which will allow to flash custom rom located in here. But you can't flash kernels using Safetrap since our Bootloader is locked.
Google "TWRP recovery FAQ" (Safestrap is based off TWRP) or something along those lines and it will give you an idea of what you can do with custom recovery.
P.S. You got lot to learn young grasshopper. Start Googling. Trust me, I didn't knew jack about Android until I got my N3, about 2 months back.
Hey guys
I have been trying to root my AT&T note 3 mj5 with kingo but have had no luck. Every time I connect my phone, it says it's an s2 instead of a note 3. I have tried with kies 3 installed and uninstalled, I have deleted every samsung driver from my PC and reinstalled the note 3 drivers. I have installed and uninstalled the drivers from kingos website and from Kies. I am having no luck at all. I have restarted my phone and PC probably 25 times in the process. Every time I try, I also get the pop up on my phone saying something is trying to access my device. It's the little shield icon...not sure if it's Knox or not.
Can anyone help me out?
Edit: after looking here more, I realized I still had lookout running...so that's part of it. So now I have to figure out why it still says s2 in kingo.
If kingo don't work go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48243768 and download rldv.zip
Extract rldv.zip to the root of your internal sdcard Reboot, then once SuperSu installs, Reboot again.
current software 4.4.2 what's the best way to update to update the software to latest new to root
What phone model? G800F, G800H, etc?
Most versions have official Lollipop from Samsung, you can update it using OTA, no root needed and it won't trip Knox warranty. If your model doesn't have a version for your particular country then you can use Odin to flash a compatible version (same model, another country) and it should keep your warranty.
If you want Marshmallow then there is no official version yet. You can get a custom ROM, then you will need TWRP either using Odin or rooting first.
Thanks for the reply ! I'm a idiot ... I have an s4 mini lol

If you meant GT-i9195 or anything other than G800-something then probably you're in the wrong forum, you will get better help in the appropriate forum for your device.
Secondly, if you've used KingRoot then either stick to KingUser app (SuperSU won't work) or you need to replace it completely either using an app or some script, both don't work always...

There are several tutorials to root a Galaxy Tab s2 all with its own root file. However, no website includes a root file for the SM-817v! There are root files for every other model out there except the SM-817v
Adding "SM-817v" to the Google search only returns junk results
So, How do I root this model of Galaxy Tab s2
You should try Magisk.
Don't know how to post a link in xda-app, but search xda for Magisk and you'll find what you need.
You'll have to get into the topic a bit, so expect some reading. But it's worth it, I promise.
Rooted my Tab S2 SM-T815 recently with this method and it worked perfectly.

Your carrier has locked the bootloader on your device. It's impossible to flash anything without soft bricking it
