I recently installed ADWLauncher EX 1.3.3.56 and it was working fine and then suddenly a duplicate menu button is showing in the buttom bar. I tried reinstalling and chaning the General Behaviour > System Preferences > Customize menu but the freaking thing just wont go away!
I tried searching everywhere for a solution but it seems I am the only one facing it.
Screenshot attached
Mine has always had this button. But I find ADW is not quite compatible with the 7.7, especially in landscape mode.
Same here but it was always there. It doesn't really matter to me. Works much smoother than TW. Although it is correct that it's a bit off when it comes to landscape mode.
Sorry about that, i guess i did not notice it before
We will just need to wait for an update then...
Yeah I just noticed this too. Didn't used to be there. Not sure what happened!
Guys, just remove top bar, give more space for homescreens http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21833740&postcount=22

I think you misunderstand the issue here. Have a look at the picture in the OP.

I understood everything very clear. There's no way to remove bottom menu button since ADW designed to work on 2.x androids, but you can remove TOP bar with "duplicate" menu button so you'll have only one then and also additional screen space which will be freed by topbar.

Not that ive seen, it does that so you can see all your today stuff.
you can use some application for today screen with tabs. i use Ultimate Launch, but there are some other apps that do something like this. try searching for "tabbed today screen".
i use spb pocket plus... i think its a little more user friendly... UL is a little settings crazy
sorry if this is a dumb question - trying out ahome and it only has 2 screens by default, where do I set the number of screens?
I think it's on aHome settings. On the homescreen press Menu > More to get to settings. Havn't used aHome since 1.1 so it might be a little different now.
hmm... i get menu / ahome menus then loads of choices. can't spot it! :/
Haven't used aHome in a long time, but I have a feeling that if you move an icon to the edge of the screen it will extend it and add a new screen. Maybe I'm thinking if something else...?

yessir that is correct
In the aHome menu, in settings, it allows you to choose number of screens, allows you to number (or mark) each screen, and so on. I can't tell you exactly because aHome doesn't work on my current ROM. Check display settings in the extra menu on the home screen. It's in the same menu where you change your fonts and drawers and stuff.
Thanks a lot guys - Adrian yep that's it, currently you drag an icon to the edge to make a new screen!

Purchased my Galaxy note several days ago.
I'd like to know if it's possible to make or 'create' a home screen without any widgets and/or shortcuts. I just want to see my wallpaper on it. In case need a shortcut I'd like to switch to another homescreen where i've configured the shortcuts I need.
Thanks in advance!
Sure, it's possible.

Yes, of course you can! You are allowed upto 7 homscreens in the default Touchwiz UI. All you have to do is select one which has no widgets or shortcuts and have it as your default screen. You can also manually delete widgets and shortcuts by holding the widget and dragging it to the bottom of the screen (dustbin icon).

To preview all your homescreens pinch inwards (similar to pinch to zoom out)..

If you want a completely clean screen, you may have to use another launcher. I use ssLauncher, and it can do that. Others can too, I am sure.
Actually, you can get rid of them. Just tap on applications button from home screen (bottom right button) > menu button > edit > slide bottom buttons away and voila
If you do this, make sure at least the applications button is somewhere on another home screen.
Don't think it's very practical, though.

At this point I have 2 homescreens left. One with the application button at the bottom and the widgets and shortcuts I use most and one with only my wallpaper but still the application button visible at the bottom. As you can understand I want to get rid of the application bottom at the last mentioned homescreen, but that doesn't seem to work. Tapping on the application button the application menu opens, but the application button then is no longer visible and it is changed in the homepage-button.
you might want to look into the app called SwipePad
its awesome for minimalistic homescreen with LOTS of options for quick app access

Thanks for the tip....but I'd prefer to accomplish this without installing an app that changes my lay-out and graphics and also changes it to English. I don't have problems with this language, but I'm Dutch, so I want my phone keep it that way.
Hello
After update to ICS,I am missing one thing: Copy/paste ability in text edit fields.
On stock ROM's there was the arrow button(I think designed by Samsung) with options. In ICS,there is the button, unfortunately only one option is available "Paste". No Select,no copy at all. It allows me actually only to move the cursor in the text, nothing else.
Is there a way,how to get this working on ICS ROM?
like this? http://theunlockr.com/2011/04/12/android-101-how-to-copy-and-paste/
or like this? http://www.google.com/imgres?q=sams...p=18&ved=1t:429,r:9,s:0,i:90&biw=1275&bih=718
or something on Market?
Currently running on AlBa ZCLP6 Full ICS Repack v2
Thanks.

Look at the screen shot attached you will find 4 icons on the top right corner, they are :
Select all- Cut - Copy - Paste (from left to right)
You need to press on a word or a letter to see these icons, if you press on an empty space you'll only get Paste
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately youre'nt right.
No more options.
Look at this...
Edit: I found a way to get the options:doubletap on a word. Unfortunately it doesn't works all the time, for example xScope Browser takes doubletap as confirm,so I cannot make selection. Is there any 3rd party alternative of this feature?

Sorry mate
Have you tried click once more to the arrow?
Yes,I did it. Nothing happens. Stock button displays the menu, this does nothing more.
double tap works for me....

This has been making me nuts for a while now -thanks for the post -the double tap worked (albeit it's a bit touch & go) - it at least does the job part of the time. :good:
Thanks!
Not sure who knows, but if you do a vertical "pinch out" gesture on the default OnePlus launcher, it brings you straight to the Hidden Space. I've linked a video explaining what I mean.
http://imgur.com/gallery/9UD5ukG
I did not know this.
Thanks!
I was playing around and just decided to try it. Who knew? It's like OnePlus his their hidden space gesture, waiting for someone to discover it.
Long press on an empty space on the home screen and enter the home settings. There is a selection at the bottom "Hidden Space". It explains this.

That is when you are in the app drawer, this gesture is done on the home screen.
Good find, I like it. Didn't know.
