Ecris Software is proud to announce our new mobile app, jiTalk.
jiTalk is a Windows Phone 7 Google Talk™ client with features that will surprise you.
Built with a fast, reliable and easy to use interface, following the Metro style guidelines.
You'll be amazed by its speed, tile and toast notification system and its simplicity.
Our cloud based notification system will let you receive incoming instant messages from your contacts even if jiTalk isn't running.
It has unique features such as chat state notifications during the conversation to let you know if your contacts are composing messages and watching the conversation.
Visit our webpage at jitalk.cloudapp.net to discover more characteristics of jiTalk.
We have launched a beta version and it will be great if you could taste the delicious flavor of jiTalk in your Windows Phone.

Have a nice day, Ecris Software Team.
I have replied to your email. Expecting something really good from this app
I have just sent you an email. Hope to receive the beta invite soon
Two things, One you need to implement pinning of contacts and second It is not able to load conversation history, sends out errors.
Looking forward to try it out!
@wpxbox
Contact pinning added to our new features to be implemented for the final version.
About the second one I'm going to contact you to request more details.
@arkavat
Email us with the live id you used as primary in your windows phone.
The application is darn slow on my HTC Mozart (I had to kill it)
In most of the case it doesn't show the online contacts (it keeps saying that None of your contacts are online when there are more than 30 people online on PC version).
Sorry, I couldn't test it fully since my device got hanged dozens of time. I understand that this is a beta test, but you have to improve your application a lot.
Let me know if you need more information or video demonstration
It's pretty fast and responsive on my Titan.
- The application icon/tile is just plain sloppy looking. I don't know if that's final, but the blurry letters just don't look good.
- The spacing for each setting on the settings page is not properly aligned left-wise.
- The spacing for the text in the about page is also not properly aligned.
- It's not clearly obvious that I can tap on 'view all' or 'view only connected' text in the contacts pivot. Maybe simply underlining the text, or having it displayed in the user's accent color might make it more obvious that it can be tapped.
- I feel like updating my 'status' text should be easier. Maybe having it built into the 'status' page rather than the configuration page.
I'm sure there is more, but it's a great start to a very simple and fast Talk app. Great work!
Sent an email today. Hope to hear from you with an invite!
Drop My Comment on Load Conversation History. I was trying a similar app.
Till now I find it working perfectly fine though you need to work more on GUI. I will stay in touch with you over email.
There really needs to be a way to set "offline".
Away isn't enough, and "unlinking" requires that I retype my password when I want to log in again.
Sorry for that.
Added in the MUST BE DONE list.
I live in Canada. We can not get google voice phone numbers. As far as I can tell, we can only use it to place VoIP calles from the web interface to land lines (accessed through the gmail screen). Is there anyway to use this app to make calls in this way without having callback numbers etc.
Saw that the RC is coming out soon. Any idea yet when the emails will be sent out the the beta testers?
I'm Daniel, another developer of jiTalk.
We publish the application 2 days ago, but it has become accesible yesterday. Today we will send the email to our beta testers.
Greetings.
Looking for exact changes done in this version.

I contacted you before with some suggestions and bugriports, but i'm not in the beta testers list (you said it to me). But can I have the new version to test it out? I love your app
Hi,
Do you can send your Live Id to "[email protected]"? We are going to look at if you are in the beta testers list, and if not add you in it.
Thanks!

I've been looking for a program that could send SMSes to lists, like forward an important SMS to colleagues, jokes to friends etc. The cases are numerous. But even after having created custom categories and assigned them to each contact, there still didn't seem a way to use the categories for this purpose.
But I found Group SMS 1.4.1 over on softonic that adds a menu item "Add Group" which lists the categories that exist in the contact list, and lets you check which you want to add people from. On the next screen you remove checkmarks from those in those categories that you dont want to be added.
Very helpful, I hope it comes in handy for someone else.
Hey Shen why did you not post this just one day earlier. Yesterday was our Eid Festival and I was scrolling through my list of around 400 contacts selecting one by one whom to pick and whom to leave out while sending out "Eid Greetings" message. It took me kind of 45 minutes for just that. You know I really cursed MS for not building into their operating system something as basic as this. So well done I have not tried this yet but I am sure this is what I need.
Yeah I know how annoying that was But I had just found out about that program an hour before I posted here
yeah its a great app used it on my hermes as well to text my team, didn't know there was the add group function on my contacts list when i installed it until last week. Just by chance i found it.
It sure was frustrating when I didn't find any "Send to list" or "Send to group" option when i tried adding recipients for the first time.
Anyone know if theres any app for the TyTN II that combines group sms with disctintive sms sounds?
Hey...
I asked this question a while back in the PPC6700 forums when I had that device on WM5...never found an answer. I'm hoping something has changed in that time frame.
I want to be able to have audible alerts for incoming e-mail, but ONLY from specific senders. Using SMS is not an option.
So, for instance if I get an email from [email protected] it will ring an alarm (at 3am and wake me up) but if is an e-mail from anyone else it will stay silent.
Any way to do this, even if I have to purchase an additonal application?
thx!
I realize that its name, Photo Contacts Pro, is a bit misleading, but this is a very powerful/flexible program that will do exactly what you're looking for. Take a look at its incarnations at the vendor's website and decide for yourself -- there's alot there to read:
http://xxx.pocketx.com
Thanks Mark,
Are you 100% sure that this application can do what I ask?
I looked on their website and their features list that you can assign distinctive Ring and SMS tones to different contacts. It doesn't mention anything about e-mail.
I would plan on using pocket outlook with push mail from an Exchange server...so I really think it would be the function of the mail client to differentiate one incoming e-mail from another. Maybe there is a more feature rich e-mail client that has this functionality?
If you have actually done what I have asked (distinctive alerts to specific EMAIL addresses), then I will download the demo and see what I can do...
thanks again!

Hate to disappoint but it will not do that. This software currently operates on incoming caller id (sms has that also) not email address. I did suggest the use of email to them in addition to sms so they may someday do some work on it but not now.
Although I don't currently know of anything that will do what you want (which doesn't mean it isn't available) you MAY be able to get around the limitation.
I would try having the exchange server fire out a short note or even a forward of the email to your phone's sms address. They all have the ability to get the email as sms albeit it would be chopped to 160 chars. Now, if you can identify the source of the incoming sms via caller id you can indeed use photocontacts by creating a special profile with silence being the default for all contacts except the exchange server forwards. This way the incoming sms will set off the alarm which will tell you to check your email.
Hey, better than nothing, no?
eh..yeah thanks NY... I was afraid of that answer.
What we did for our alerting system previously was have the alerts sent to the phone mail/SMS address and all other e-mails to our normal exchange. This way we would turn on SMS alerts and turn off e-mail. It does work, but not the ideal solution. It would be so simple to have this functionlity in pocket Outlook as a "rule" too bad they haven't gotten there yet!
thanks
having that kind of selection hasn't gotten that far yet, don't forget this is a pocket pc with phone capabilities

I'm aware of a couple of programs that will alert based on email sender, subject, etc. The first is Message Alerts, and the second is Watchflag. I've never used Watchflags before, but it looks pretty good. I used Message Alerts back when I had a RIM Blackberry. It worked perfectly.
Try also phoneAlarm V2.0 not 1.66 from http://www.pocketmax.net
This is a new option in V2.0
Beautiful guys thanks! All 3 look like they will do what i want (from description) I will try them out.
thanks again!
bengalih, thanks for the link. Question for you, did you ever try one of these programs? I guess my request is a little different than yours was in that I am not trying to notify by email address but simply by email account. So one notification for my Yahoo, another for my daughters and yet another for work. If one of these apps can accomplish this, then that would be great. Thanks again.
Email notification
This is only mildly related, but I want my new email notification to show the sender and/or subject line and not just "You have ## new email messages..."
I can't find any notification settings that would adjust this. Any suggestions?
i've been waiting and waiting and FINALLY got my invitation today, and i'm loving it. For anyone out there that wants to save on text messages, who actually has been invited, i'd suggest this (to keep this somewhat kaiser related) go to www.google.com/voice and simply log in, once you've done so...just make it your home page. that way anytime u want to see if you have any sms messages, all u have to do is hit the internet explorer hard key, and it'll open right up to your sms inbox.
by the way, i've heard that android mobile app is fully functional, and either iphone/blackberry are in the worlds, or on the way. but has anyone who knows about goovoice heard anything about a winmo app? it'd be nice to have an app in the background which always notifies you of new text messages/voicemails etc.
Yeah, I got my invite a while ago. I'm having a hard time getting used to it. It seems like a lot of work, and I've only really got 2 phone numbers. Not to mention, there isn't a Windows Mobile application yet.
i'm only using 1 number right now to be honest (no one calls me at my house number) but the voicemail transcribing and sms, call screening are things that i know i'm going to enjoy with this.
***I am in no way affliated to RemoteSMS or the creator of this wonderful app.***
Surprised no one talked about this amazing app. So just to create awareness
RemoteSMS is a service app. You just got to be on a WIFI network and switch on the service. Direct your favorite browser to the address given by the app (eg. 182.168.1.100:8080) and you can compose and send texts right from your browser! It even allows you to search through your contact list. I tried it and it works great for me.
We will soon get the ability to read texts right from your browser too. Another amazing thing is I dont think iPhone has any similar applications Go to Market and search for "RemoteSMS". Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
2 Words, GOOGLE VOICE
google voice doesnt let you sms with your own number. u gotta sms with gv number. or did they change it? does this remoteSMS let you text with ya number though, like it sends to other people and shows up on caller id with your number? if so, this remote sms has some potential. text on computer when u are at home is much better than on the phone.

there is an app like this called DesktopSMS, it is open source on google code. doesnt use a browser, its a java desktop app + android app. also pulls contacts. DesktopSMS is a bit buggy though, if RemoteSMS is stable, i'll give it a try.
Actually iPhone does have an app just like this but it is just for jailbroken users. It's called TreasonSMS & its the one app (other than Swap Faces) that I actually missed after switching to my G1, now Android is perfect
Great app. Now if the dev would just put in a password option for the browser interface to make my phone secure on wifi with multiple users...

Looks great. Does it support the lock screen?
Good thing? ?
Is it possible to have smaller pictures, or choice to select picture size in the future Or have 4x4, 4x2, etc. ?
I like to see more favorite contacts at once on home screen.

I'll see what i can do with the smaller pictures.
Lock screen mode is enabled also
Good widget:good:
Awesome widget! The only thing I wish it had is an option to force a confirmation pop-up window when clicking on a contact. or something like that. I find myself calling people by accident when I put the phone back in my pocket.
Cheers!
I don't know if this is possible with future updates but I figured I'd throw it out there:
It would be cool if this app could somehow pull data from Calendars or Facebook and let you know "its so-and-so's birthday today" as a reminder for you to call them.

Frank hi.
I doubt that that facebook option will possible since it require network access.
that widget require phone book and call log access that along are Invasive permissions with network access that even worse.
after saying that if the community will ask for that I will check what I can do.
