stylus:- (a pen which works on capacitive screens)
creating stylus is very simple
requirement:-
(1) an ear bud
(2) a very small amount of cotton
(3) 2-3 drops of water
all the three thing can be found easily in homes
procedure:-
(1) take a single ear bud
(2)wrap extra cotton around the edges
(3) put 2-3 drops of water on the cotton and make it a little bit wet
and your stylus is ready. enjoy touching with stylus
(do not forget to press thanks button)
This can be useful for the cool days, wearing gloves. Why an ear bud and not other thing?

Hi all,
due to using my phone out and about in generally dusty places my speaker mesh is basically fully clogged up with dirt and the sound is drasticly reduced. Has anyone here cleaned their speaker mesh or got any advice on what would be the best way of doing it? i dont really want to start prodding a pin when i dont know what it could do!
Thanks in advance....
if you use a pin, the dust will fall in further.. so i wouldnt do that, but if thats ok by you then go ahead, nothing will happen as long as you dont push it in much further than the mesh ends.
blowing the dust out is the best solution imo.. only question is how to do that without diassembling the phone
I have similar problem I've used a piece of blue tack, just press it in and pull it out a few times to remove the dust and muck.

Tried a vacuum cleaner? Obviously the grille is a little small for it, but there might be enough air movement to lift the crap.
Here's what i would do:
Find a SMALL paintbrush... as stiff as possible...
Take Your vacuum cleaner hold the vacuum nozzle close to your phone (as close as you can get it..
Gently start brushing the speaker and let the vacuum cleaner take care of the stuff that are coming loose..
If the brush is to soft, try to cut it shorter to get a little more "power" on it...
Have'nt tried this, but i should work (i think... )
PS (If You are out in dusty enviroment a lot, I would cover the speaker holes with a bit of clear tape.. shouldnt affect the sound to much, and would
keep the phone healtier
Suck it out with your mouth, but try not to inhale it.
Seriously, that's the fastest way.

Yes, you can hire a hooker for that
No, seriously, I would try a vacuum cleaner.
The Nozzle will be to big, but most vacuum cleaners come with adapters. There is that adapter that looks like that:

vacuum cleaner, tape, blower
You can get cyber clean as well.
Don't go to close with the vacuum or it will bust the speaker inside the ear piece, like he said above use fine clean paint brush and have a slight suction there from the hoover.

That's it, I would like to know if anyone has try a stylus pen on ACE. I'm a drawer and painter and I would love to use the Sketchbook app with a pen but I don't know if that would be possible. I tried with a DIY one, that one was for iphone, and didn't work, so what do you think?
Make one with a finger touch ;-)
Sga having a capacitive touch screen only soft fingers touches respond...
[practice random acts of kindness and selfless acts of love]
Lol, thanx! I've been using that app with my finger. The thing is that I saw on ebay, amazon and so, stylus pens for galaxy ACE, but I don't know if it's scam or they truly work
I tried a 10€ capacitive stylus from a retail shop. I don't think you will find it very useful for painting, as it is has a 6mm diameter, but it does work and it will keep your screen clean of fingerprints. I had some trouble swiping, because the rubber tip feels a bit sticky, leading to false taps. Also, mine didn't last very long: after a month or so the rubber tip became too sticky. I know there are styli with cloth tips but I have yet to find one.
I've found several today on an hawker, one of these stylus work well for write or play but I think isn't suitable to draw..
well, if a stylus works on the galaxy note, i dont really see any reason why it shouldnt work on the ace. After all, one capacitive screen works the same way as the other, only the backlight differs(led, etc)

READ the first post dude. For drawing
I use this and works very fine:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-x-Metal-L...ccessories&hash=item336fc7e086#ht_5170wt_1081
Interesting!
I bought one from Dealextreme and you really have to push it against the screen to work. Otherwise it will leave a dotted line. It's similar to the other Chinese ones posted here.
I have an awesome idea use an ear bud and put some extra cotton on if an make it a little wet with water and Viola your home made stylus I'd ready.

He he..superb idea bro
I use my thumb as natural stylus
This suits for tab n note i think
the stylus's on ebay work just fine, but as someone else said, the tip is fairly large so for drawing dont expect much.
depends what drawing software you are using as well, if its one that supports pinch and zoom then you will get reasonable results, but again, never going to produce superb results.
But the ebay ones are about $2 so its not really money wasted. You can still use it for typing, playing games etc.

Why not use a Drill or something and drill some random holes from the back of the phone all the way to the speaker enclosure. This seems like a pointless thing not to mention that that dust filter is there for a reason. If you wanted better sound there are other things to mess up with (and that requires adding extra holes in the speaker enclosure by taking the phone apart).

it's hollow inside, the actual speaker is way far back.
you are only poking holes onto the dust filter fabric sticker.

boys little mind wants! the new version Grow more holes .. and I did too!.
Trial and error engineering at its best. Unfortunately with that approach there's more error than success.:silly:
So what you're saying is.... the sim tray tool is making the speaker holes bigger?
Not likely. Not sure how the plastic tool is supposed to make the holes bigger...
Looks like you're just poking at/moving the filter out of the way so you're more susceptible to getting dirt and dust in your phone.
Sounds like a placebo at best...
Well I just got an RMA device and wow are the speaker holes gigantic! They're about 2 times as big as my original one. Sounds sooooo much better.

in this thread i will explain how to make external GPS antenna for our OP without epensice costs (it costs me less than a dollar :fingers-crossed
im not responsible for damaging your phone if u try to follow this !!!
Materials:
*screwdriver (i used 3mm but 1.5 mm is optimum) (i bought 2 screws flat and crossed for 0.5 $)
*a piece of copper wire about 10 - 12 cm and thin diameter (i used a wire of my old damaged mouse) (cost nothing)
Procedures:
1-take of the 7 screws at the back.
2-with a flat screw ..... at the top right sider (at mp3 jack) enter the screw and rotate slowly and carefully and the plastic back will open clip by clip. (try to be careful cuz of weak materials). (after taking off the back cover take care of volume rocker button and lock button as the may fall and lost!!!!!) (take the battery off to avoid short circuits)
3-locate the GPS antenna terminal at the plastic back and at the motherboard (ignor the ground terminal)
{

}
4-at the plastic cover ...... put a piece of adhesive tape on antenna to be sure of its isolation
5-on the motherboard ....... put a piece of plastic adhesive tape on the marked area and pass the copper wire from the rubber piece as in the pic and make th wire get out at the area directly near the antenna (cuz it's opened at the back over)
6-reture the buttons in place and the back cover and tight the screws
7-cover the metallic areas over the SIM card and SD card and screw median to the camera by plastic tape to prevent touching of wires.
8-Now ............ u got the antenna :victory: :victory: :victory: :victory: :victory: >>>>>>>>>>>>u can bend it behind the battery cover but it won't make reception better as u thought >>>>>>>> OR >>>>>>>>>>>>> when u need it just take off the battery cover and get it out !!!!

Well, I literally sucked some of the sand out with my mouth, so there's that. A lot of it was still stuck under the edge of the screen, but I eventually got it all out with the edge of a sheet of paper. I might try a vacuum next time.
yeahhhh ive got the same problem.. its such a hassle especially if the grain of sand is the same exact dimensions as the gap its as if it was wedged in there permanently!!
sometimes the grain of sand thats stuck it there cuts my cheek when i answer the phone lol
i would suggest a toothpick or a sewing needle.. worked for 99.9% of mine!

I was too scared to try anything pointy. If the toothpick/needle didn't get the last grains out, try computer paper, notebook paper, and then try each of them folder over one time (to create a sort of "scooper" that will fit in the groove). This got me completely sand free.
