Thanks for your efforts with writing this tutorial but there seems to be a glitch with CWM that maybe you could update the OP with and that is that some of our devices do not like some versions of CWM, v5.0.2.7 and v4.0.0.4 both ended up with a fast rolling screen in Recovery but ClockworkMod_Recovery_v5.5.0.4_P75xx.tar from here http://www.teamovercome.net/p7500/?page_id=8 was successful although I'm not sure of the differences between them are but I have noticed that some of our members here have v5.5.0.4 listed in there specs that is why I thought I would try it out.
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager shows this to be for the following devices.
Asus Transformer
Google Galaxy Nexus (CDMA)
My Specs
TELUS GT-P7510/16GB/WIFI free with bundle deal.
SKU: GTP7510UWR
SW-VER: VLKL2
Kernel Version: [email protected] #1
Build Number: HTJ85B.VLKL2 P7510VLKL2
Thank you!
PS, Thanks for making the videos, much easier to watch in the middle of the night than reading words!
Great video review on the aokp 10.1... Also nice XPS laptop...
Will this method work if I have an encrypted tablet running ICS. I am unable to decrypt via the OS, hoping the Odin will help me out here.

What did you install? if it is a Rom that you installed search The ROMs thread for "YouTube not working" or "app not supported" if it’s a problem or/and has a fix then the search will yield results.

I don't believe you’re in the right forum for these questions; Try the Q&A forum also when asking in the right forum you will probably get helped faster if someone knows what you are talking about.
The answers to your Q's have already been discussed multiple times just search you will see!
Thanks for making me understand.. I should be on AOPK rom forum.
I search on Q&A.

Tried to unroot, now I have this. Been trying to flash through Odin (PDA md5 file only), gets to 'system', goes about 10 minutes then fails. Nothing on sd card. Im hoping I can save this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is a retail Wifi.
I have the correct USB drivers and can see it in device manager but not in explorer. I do not have the correct ADB SDK, cant seem to find it.
Been reading several threads and watching vids on youtube, nothing seems to do the trick. Im stuck but hopefully not bumming.
I'm currently running CWM Recovery 5.0.2.6 on my Galaxy Ace. I've been warned away from using ROM Manager by basically everybody. But I want to install CWM Touch Recovery on my Ace, and ROM Manager seems to be the only way to do that.
First, is CWM Touch Recovery compatible with the Galaxy Ace?
Second, has ROM Manager improved? I bricked an Ace last February trying to flash CWM Recovery (it didn't have the my model listed). Current version is 5.0.0.8. Can I use it to safely flash CWM Touch Recovery (assuming Touch Recovery is compatible with Galaxy Ace?
Third, is there any place I can get CWM Touch Recovery for the Galaxy Ace without using ROM Manager?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Dude as you have said. You have been warned by everybody for using rom manager. But if you still insist on using it, feel free. Its your choice! I think there is already a cwm touch recovery for ace. Search in ace development section. But I think its buggy and discontinued.

I'm not disagreeing with you; ask the audience usually works. But everything I'm seeing telling me not to use ROM Manager is almost a year old (fall 2011 or earlier), and this is a very recent version of ROM Manager that recognizes my phone, where all the older versions didn't.
Is there anyone who has used ROM Manager 5.0.0.6 or 5.0.0.8 on their Galaxy Ace? If so, please let me know how it went, good or bad.

Everyone told you not to use Rom manager. But if you still want to use it,go ahead,Use it,brick your device. If you want to mess your phone up,thats fine with us.Just please don't come crying here telling that you messed your phone up by using Rom manager,if you refuse to hear what people say,its your problem.
Rom Manager is a touch and go thingy for SGA,it works sometimes, sometimes doesn't.

Hello Members, i have a UK SNote GT-N7000 and it's running ICS 4.0.3, it's also using the 'franco.kernal r5'.
The kernal was installed during a procedure i followed from RootGalaxynote.com on rooting ICS SNote without needing a computer to do it, (just running CW recovery.zip, then using it to installed files for superuser, then installing franco kernal r5)
What i've found is that there are updates of franco kernal form version R6 right upto R12 through web searching,, and searching this forum, do these updates apply to my UK SNote and if they do, should or can they be installed using the same method as i did when following the Rootgalaxynote video tutorial.
I know there is a Franco Kernal Updater on the Google Play market, and another one from the same developer specific to SNote, but this app hasn't been updated for a while or so the reveiws point out, anyway i'd rather not run any additional sofware just to update the kernal if it can be done in the same way as it was originally .
Any help from members, and any links to the correct franco.kernal version download for my SNote would also be a great help.
kind regards
Livio

That's an SGS3 kernel!
As far as I'm aware Franco doesn't support the Note anymore.

Thanks Members, but I feel I'm still a bit confused so bear with me please.
So far my understanding from your replies is that the Franco. Kernal r6 is the last version supporting the SNote, but there are millions who have the phone and have installed franco's Kernal thinking that when Samsung issues the UK official ICS 4.0.4 update, and possibly Jelly bean's 4.1 in GNote's future, that surely the Kernal will need tweaking and have bugs working with these upcoming updates.
This is a real let down..... Franco, if your reading this please change your mind, and continue to monitor your Kernal for the SNote, after all, what will happen next when the SNote 2 comes out, we he drop SGS3 support, The SNote 2's only round the corner.
The other point I was confused about was needing to install 'mobile odin' if I was going to update to version r6. As I mentioned in my original post I didn't need to install any software to install Franco. Kernal r5 other than using CW mod recovery, the video instructions I followed (link below)
rootgalaxynote(dot)com/galaxy-note-root/how-to-root-ics-on-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-no-computer-required/
Also, if I wanted to download Franco.kernal r6, could I use the file copy from the same 'downloadandroidrom.com website described in the video tutorial above (address below)
downloadandroidrom(dot)com/file/GalaxyNote/kernels/FrancoICS
Regards
I saw the video (no computer required root), you want to use the same matodo francokernel to update, simply download the zip file and flash CWM recovery!

Thanks devid801 for the help, and link to franco's thread.
I'll give it a go later today using the same install method, hopefully I won't 'brick' the phone doing it, I'll post back whatever the result.

Hi devid801, I followed what I did before and think the Kernal has been successfully updated, but can't be sure, if it has then the Kernal version of the phone now reads.....
3.0.15 - Franco. Kernal
Francisco @ Francisco #6
SMP PREEMPT WED JUN 13 01:13:24 WEST 2012
..... Is the '#6' part above the indication that it is now version 6 (I know it may seem obvious to others, but I don't know for sure)
At the moment the phone running well, so a confirmation from you, or another member would be great.

First off I want to say hi to everyone, just got my note last week and coming from a LG G2x I loved having miui , I was wondering if any of the developers were considering cooking this option. Thank you

This is development. Post questions in the Q&A thread
Thread Moved
Welcome to the note forum The dev section rules are the same as other forums, so please post questions in the Q&A section. Them being aimed at developers is irrelevant.
actually yes.
even though there isn't a 'native' tmo miui you can flash vengeance note.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812360
flash the I717 version of TWRP to your tmo note.
flash the newly released paranoid android native for tmo note http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876751.
backup the paranoid rom you just flashed.
clear everything. factory/data/dalvik etc.
flash the tmo note versin of TWRP and reboot.
back into TWRP
flash vengeance note.
restore the BOOT partition from the paranoid rom you just flashed.
all this is done through TWRP. you need the I717 version of TWRP so that assert check doesn't fail when you flash vengeance note.
enjoy MIUI. i've been running it for about 10 minutes now lol. it takes about 5-10 minutes to boot up the first time. you'll see the MIUI bootscreen.
so far so good.

Upgrade your recovery. Use RZ Recovery or CWM 5.0.2.8.
BTW, you should wait atleast 5-10 minutes in Android screen.
I waited for almost 15 mins..3-4 times after flashing rom. I'll try now upgrading recovery..
