I really hate the lockscreen on my O2X. It's laggy and slow.
Is there a simple way to change it to the default froyo/gingerbread one?
I've seen some widget programs that change it, but im afraid this takes up CPU/Mem.

search for lock in a market
Widgetlocker works good for me. It has planty of good themes avaliable so you can make it look exactly as you want it.
Search for the "stock patch pack - AOSP - style lock screen" by Paul in the development forum. You will need ClockWorkMod, though.

People say it uses a LOT of battery... even on the app in the marked. I think that android it self uses enought battery as it is...
Change the LG launcher. It will improve the speed of all animations.

Based on Mod/Theme for Hyperdroid GBX 07/06/11 - By ElephantStone82
I used his work to learn and modify my own homebrew.
This is for those who like the look of MIUI but the speed of Hyperdroid and hopefully this should work when there is finally an updated release. * I do not recommend 167dpi - I myself use 220. No idea what it looks like in 167. Don't forget to disable "wallpaperhack" in adwEX.
Modifications:
Transparent Pulldown Menu
Modified power widget icons (nearly all modded)
Stock gingerbread wifi/cell/battery ! Looks awesome w/ transparent and works.
MIUI clock mod included
CWM update patch download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/m4le68b60clveyd/CWM-Shael-Transparent-Hyperdroid-MOD.zip
Is Status bar transparent too?
EDIT
Oh i see it is, but which launcher did you use?
Using adwEX (quite customized) finger up = brings up hidden dock, finger down =app drawer. I could share my setup files if you like.
My mod worked well for you? I haven't had feedback yet.

Hey guys!
Well I got a little confused... do we need ADW launcher to have this mod working? Or it will work in an Hyperdroid GBX stock rom?
EDIT: this is a patch correct? The only way to undo it is reflashing again.

will try it indeed. Thanks

Hey, did you get it working ?
It should work with no launcher, with launcher pro and with ADW.. but with ADW you must remember to un-check the box in the settings "Enable wallpaper hack"..
otherwise you should be good to go, i realized i ****ed up the gps icons when it's searching for satellites ! atleast for me it flashes a battery / headphone symbol - (and then finally the correct symbol once it locks) so i'm gonna fix that soon and re-upload, but other than that - yea it works great and i finally got my phone to look the way i wanted.. if anyone has any recommendations on how to improve it, let me know.
Cheers

Hello!
No I haven't try it yet but I will as soon as I do a backup. Don't want to mess up things without a backup just for the case that I don't like it, and then reinstall everything again...
Other question: This mod changes not only the opacity but also the task bar icons?
how to make go launcher icons bigger in the dock?
thanks.
You cant, at least not yet.
If you have an example of something, or know what go-theme does do something your looking for, post the name of it- ill let ya know whats up
Yup...got the same issue...the icons are pretty small...I guess by their size, they must have been meant to be used on Android phones...
Cheers,
Giz

Hmm, I have go launcher 2.69 and I can't seem to find the option. Do you know where the option is located in the menus? I might have tried it by accident going through all the settings, but I never saw a change in my icons on the desktop or dock.
Thanks for your time.

It makes all icons bigger, menu>preferences>visual settings>icons>icon size
Edit: the 2.70 beta has the option to change just the dock icon size
Re: how to make go launcher icons bigger
I was able to find the menu setting. However, when I change the icon size to "large" Go Launcher changes it right back to "custom". Any ideas?
Go Launcher Dock Icons
I have sent numerous emails to their developement team requesting this option...and never hear back from them. If you have only 4 icons, the auto adjust makes them the same size, but not with 5 icons. There has to be a way to go in on a rooted phone and tweek their code, or something. I tried ADW since they have this option, and gave it an honest try...had it for a month or so, and just could not resist going back to Go Launcher. For me, this is the only improvement I would want at this point. I think it's a great customization tool, as well as stable. If anyone has any suggestions...please let me know.
Hey Guys,
I jusr recently received my Xperia Z from O2, the phone is beautiful. Something I ran across was that I found was that the stock icons seemed to be very sensative in where and how you tap them. It got to the point where I honestly thought there was something wrong with my phone and requested a replacement, until I decided to sit down and really go through all the icons and mess around with them.
I had enabled the "see where you touch" feature on the phone to help assist with my experiment and found the stock icons where very stubborn to open at times! But after installing apex launcher and getting new icons, the problem is gone. Has anyone else noticed this?
Have you changed the 'animation scale' settings under 'Developer options'?
If so, there have been a few posts that state that it can make the icons hard to select for some reason.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 2
Currently all the animation scale settings are turned off, it was suggested this to be done as it helps with battery life. Is it best to change it? Again, I dont seem to have any icon response issues after they were changed with Apex.

It seems that if you turn them off it makes the icons hard to select but only on the stock launcher.
If you're sticking with Apex, then leave them off

You have 2.0.5b or 2.0.6 Home launcher.
It's a customized launcher but it's very, very good.
And you can choose number of columns and rows as you like.
Try it - it's very good...

+1 for a mod like this
+1 for a mod like this! Been using Nova Launcher on my previous phones but I like the stock one on this phone and would like to keep using those widgets that only work in the Sony launcher. A 5x4 layout would work much better for certain widgets I use so I hope someone is able to mod this! :good:

Hey guys,
Since a couple of us are looking for this mod, I decided to give it a go myself. I found this post to help - although it's for the Touchwiz launchers, I figured it could be adapted to ours as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=27433971
I found similar settings in our home.apk and modified them, however upon uploading the modified home.apk, nothing changed. I tried making several edits, none of which actually changed something visible on the screen. I went as far as completely erasing the home.apk from the phone - still it was somehow being used as the default launcher, which has me believing that another file is used as the launcher. I used system\app\home.apk. Maybe someone with some more knowledge can shed some light on this so we can get this mod going?

Thread not found error, please can you link it again so I can have a look at how it is done. Or could you tell us which settings needed changing
Also, was it this version of the home.apk you used or an older one.

Hey gregbradley,
Just finished testing. The modified Home.apk is based on the pre-installed V6.0.2A.0.13 of the apk. I've created a 5x4 version for 6.1.A.0.5 as well - attached below. Small install instruction - if you haven't installed 6.1.A.0.5 yet, do so first. Copy this file into data\app. It's not needed to have the modified Home.apk installed, if you already have though, you can simply install the update and copy this file into the right place for it to work.
Modification for both versions are the same: decompile, inside res\values-sw360dp\ you'll find 3 files, 2 which need editing:
- integers.xml needs 2 be modified to include the following code:
<integer name="desktop_grid_columns">4</integer>
<integer name="desktop_grid_rows">5</integer>

Click to collapse
- dimens.xml has the following line, value changed from 113.0 to 90:
<dimen name="desktop_cell_height_port">90dip</dimen>

That's all that I changed so far. Tons of different values that can be changed as well but since I'm at work I have limited time to mess with that at the moment.
Many thanks, but it doesn't look good in landscape mode. Maybe something needs working on there...
Do you have a stock version of that file, like a noob I didn't make a copy of the stock one..thanks
EDIT Don't worry, I restored the data partition of a backup
But it might be good to upload a stock version for those that use the landscape layout and want to go back..

Ohhh sorry I did not touch landscape mode, takes a few minutes to fix so I'll have a corrected version up in a bit (just let me wolf down this fried rice first ).
One of the reasons why I haven't touched landscape is because I don't use it myself. In fact, I'm not even sure how to enable that as mine locks in portrait mode on the homescreen.

you can use xposed additions module to enable "Global user rotation" which allows all apps to rotate, Then when I use my power jacket or dock I get a rotated homescreen.

Got the phone in landscape mode now. Question though - the reason I never use my homescreen in landscape is because it messes up the dimensions of the screen. Either you keep the 5x4 layout, get very cramped/stretched icons/widgets, or you change it to 4x5 which is much more logic, but then your apps/ widgets will end up getting all messed up with the bottom row being removed. Since you use your phone in landscape, which of the 2 has your preference..?

In the screenshot you've got it as a 4x4 landscape grid. Would you prefer that over a 4x5 one? Right now I've got a working 4x5 one, let me know which one you like better.

Thought so so I was already working on it - try this one.
That has the same problem.
But also when you move back to portrait after being in landscape everything is screwed up.

Don't worry about it tonight, I am watching football now anyway, but its something to look at in the future..
