I went on amazon and found an extended battery for the lg thrill...its made by Hyperion and its a 3500 mah. I love this battery...I've had it on for 12 hours and have 63% left and that was using the phone a lot. I advise everyone who has a thrill to pick one up its only 17.99 and it cone with a back cover. The back cover isn't cheesy its the same rubbery material as the stock back cover. Only problem is it does add decent bulk to the phone but its well worth it....Idk about you guys but I'm tired of charging my phone 3 times a day.

Hey hegemytouch,
How's that battery holding up? I'm thinking about getting one, but I've heard stories that they only have the long charge for a little while and quickly lose capacity over a few charges (probably bc they've been sitting in a warehouse for a long time and just lost their capacity from that). I want to get an idea of how the Hyperion battery holds up. Thanks for the update.
The battery was pretty decent. The first charge you have to charge it for 12 hours...that lasted forever LOL..the battery life did.drop a little couple of charges in but still was worth it. Lasted all day with heavy use.

I ordered the 3500 mAh battery recently. I cannot wait until I receive it. My biggest gripe about this phone has been its battery life, but now that won't be an issue. Thanks for the excellent post.
Now I made this order fairly late and overlooked the fact that the battery is thicker than stock. Does the new battery come with a new back plate, or will I have to order that separately? Also are there some good protective cases for this phone available when using the thicker battery? I know my current one will no longer suffice.

Most of them come with the backplate.
I haven't found any aftermarket cases that fit with the extended battery. If you do let us know!

I have the 3500 mah good long lasting battery but it adds too much bulk, it's a brick
I went back to stock battery
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA
It certainly does turn it into a brick, but for me the additional battery life makes it all worth it. I emailed Hyperion asking if there is a case for it. I am awaiting a response.

I have thought about getting an extended battery but like other people have said I dont think I would how bulky it makes it. If someone does make a case for it I will definitely try it. I get decent battery life right now. I am a heavy user of my phone and it will last me all day and night with no issues.
I have received my 3500mAh battery with a case to fit around the battery and I must say that it's NOT as bulky as people make it seem to be.

Do you mean the backplate to the phone or a protective case for the phone? If you found a protective case for the phone when using this battery please send me a link. I really need one since I have had my drops over the years with my phones, and I don't want to crack the screen. There's too much work involved in replacing them.

Seidio is always a decent brand.
As evilkorn mentioned, Seidio is probably the only main brand I have seen mentioned. Here is a link to their battery...
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy32hnx1-bk.htm
However, in case you didn't know, there are no extended batteries that will fit inside the stock battery compartment (at least, none worth really mentioning), so this battery comes with a replacement back cover that expands the whole length of the phone to accommodate the increased thickness of this battery.
That's brilliant, thanks for your help guys, I look into it. I'm getting more than a full days use at the moment, so I may leave it for now. Thanks again for the replies.

Bulk? No, its a direct fit with out the need of a larger back. Weight? possibly a little, not sure on that aspect.
What about 3500? I just bought a seidio case for my LG Thrill and ordered a 3500 battery as well. Can someone care to explain?

That case will not work with the 3500. The 3500 requires a different backing that the case will not fit over.

I now only buy the Anker(sp?) batteries on ebay....they are cheap, and the only ones that appear to hold a full charge
many of the cheap 1900's I have bought are only like 900-1200
every Anker battery we have appears to be true capacity as listed
I got my 3500mAH battery finally. I can say that it adds bulk and weight. It also adds at the minimum twice the battery life. I would say I think it really is closer to three times as long. Yes it has a hump but is very comfortable to hold. With the new battery it is more like it should have been from the start with the original battery. You should not have any problems making it through a day of heavy use or two days light to normal use. This battery also takes along time to charge. I am very happy with the performance. Though I would still like to find a case the would fit the phone with this new hump on it. Lol
I would also like to find a case to fit the extended battery back. I just got this phone and the battery life is horrible even when compared to my HTC Inspire. I want to order the 3500mAH battery and extended back, but I also don't want my phone to be naked either. It's a toss up.
Darn I'm so tempted to buy the 3500 mah battery but I can't afford for it to blow up on me.. IF it does.... I traded my samsung infuse for this so I have no way in returning it. ):
Hopefully there's more people testing these batteries out so I can get one in a couple months.
Seido batteries are great!
I ordered this one: 1980mah Andida Spare Battery for LG Optimus 3D
I will test it out and report back my results to the forum.
Day 2 of using the aftermarket battery; So far so good. Took longer to charge than the stock battery, but that's on par with having a higher rated mAh.
I've been using the 3500mah extended battery since September 20th. So far, so good! Im getting double battery life and my phone hasn't exploded yet... lol... it does add some considerable bulk to the phone because of the custom backing that's required, but I personally think its worth it.

I picked up the SafPWR Fusion 2 case today from AT&T. My usage so far hasn't been wearing the battery out, but it is an 1800ma case that goes with the original 1600. So that should be enough power to sync everything like a madman, and screen at 100%. lol

Yuck... I didn't know it was that thick.
It isn't twice as thick, but it is pretty damn thick.
It is heavy, I can tell you that (with the phone). Without the phone you think, hey this isn't to heavy. LOL.
Still deciding if I am going to keep it.
I have been using this case since I bought my vivid over a month ago. It definitely adds some bulk to it, but it also does a good job protecting the Phone. It doesn't look/ feel like it would be very useful as drop protection, but I have dropped the phone multiple times on hard surfaces (I am 6'3") and the case has taken all the damage.
As for the 1800mah battery in the case, I have been less than satisfied. I almost feel that it was a typo and should have said 800mah. When my phone hits under 20% I turn the case on, if I am not using the phone at all while the case charges it, I can get it from 20, to about 80-90% before the case runs out of juice. If I am using the phone moderately while the case charges it, I am lucky to see a 30% improvement before the case goes dead 1-2 hours later.
I will say though, that if I let it charge from the case in my pocket, and do not use the phone, it DOES charge pretty fast from 20 to 80-ish percent.
If I want to use MHL, I have to remove the phone from the case, but I believe it works for data sync, etc in the case.
I plan on continuing to use this case as it hasn't let me down yet, and the extra battery life (though not 1800mah worth) is definitely a life saver.
Just my short review. Hope it helps!

I was worried about this. I am trying to figure out if I am going to keep it. I really like the way the Speck case looks, and that is what I was going to get. I ended up getting the battery case, and the one that looks like a tire with a leather back. They had the otter, but I just didn't like it. But I can never make up my mind with cases and phones lol.
Well, I just boxed it back up. I had it on the charger for like three hour and the phone wasn't fully charged and neither was the case. Case was only half charged. DO you have to charge them separately? Or can you charge both the phone and the case at the same time.
I have this case. If you let the phone and battery case die you have to charge them separately. ( the actual inst. Booklet that came with it tells you.) as far as feel the phone itself is to me a little too thin. The case feels great after the first couple days. I will say this they give you an extra top piece wherd the earphone jack goes for a reason. Mine broke the first week so be careful!

I would too. I recently ordered the OtterBox Defender. I think I would rather have the protection over the extra battery life though. I already had to get the phone repaired after it fell out of my pocket while I was jogging...
I got this case also, too heavy and thick for my liking. It barely made it through half a day. I can do without

I just bought the Safepwr today from the Local AT&T store for $50. I love it, my inspire had the PowerSkin and this is so much better. Usualy by this time tonight, I have my phone on the charger, it is still fully charged with only half gone off the Safepwr. This alone is giving me twice the battery life.
Just fyi,
I hated the feel of the Vivid compared to the inspire, Long and very hard for me to use the keyboard, with this case it feels real good.
Initially, you have to charge the case with out the phone inserted. Mine took about 4 hours. Make sure that the phone is fully charged. It works great. The case continuously charges the phone. The phone charge icon comes on, when the phone is below full charge. I understand that it is thicker than the phone alone, but you are pretty much adding another battery.

I bought this case for my Vivid on eBay for 15$. I thought it might be a knockoff, but so far everything looks legit. I've yet to try it because this came in before the Vivid (still waiting for my phone to be delivered )
Btw I know this is an OLD topic but just wanted to add my 2 cents in case anyone else is thinking about the case. From what I've read it seems there's a specific way to use the case to get the most out of it.
Will post back for the sake of anyone interested
Sorry but i am noticing that despite giving a good battery time my battery has swollen. Because i can feel the bulge on the back cover. When i removed the battery i didnt find any prominent bulging but overall the battery seems a little big. Should i remove my battery atonce or keep it unchanged until it completely fails???

I would go to a store and compare a new one to yours.
If it has effectively swollen then change it immediatly.
Better pay a few bucks for a new battery then lots for
a new phone or even worse, medical care...

the battery is going bad.... continuing to use it could hurt your phone. its too cheap and easy to get another battery than to risk either damaging the phone from swelling, bursting open(not as likely but i have seen it), or shorting out and frying the motherboard...
hope this helps
Ahan, i would go and check the market for a new battery.

I bought a new battery tonight and it cost me much. So it was not an easy solution.
But tonight i was so much shocked with what i saw. I went to the samsung shop and told him that i feel as if my battery is swollen he checked and affirmed that it is weak battery. But he said that in order to get an oem battery he had to make an order. So i have to wait till monday, but then instead he opened a new packed galaxy note box and took its battery out and he gave me that battery. Now my phone battery has a date of 21.01.2012 and the one that i have now has a date 11.09.2012.
When i put the battery in my phone, it shows an initial exact 50% charge. So i was good with the deal and was surprized howcome he opened the box and sold its aux.
But its true i spoiles my previous battery due to overcharge. I plugged it whole night. But the good thing is that it gives a good battery time. So someone is right i got an spare now for long trips.

4800 maH with Stand. I placed an order but yet to pick it up due to low stock. I see other powerful batteries but they add that bulk and this has the stand which I absolutely need
Any opinion
This would add the most bulk to me, it makes the phone another inch longer. Plus that's not really the mah you'll get out of it since it's not replacing the battery just charging already in there.

tx for the reply, so this is not really a battery? all it does it charge the one I have i.e, I got sit there waiting for it to charge
I assume it takes over when the internal dies off?
PS Would you recommend the best extended battery? with case/stand, I keep hearing mugen - any other one?
Yes it just charges the internal battery you have. You can turn it off and on when you please not just when its dying although its ideal to use it when your phone is low on power. As for good battery with stand I would recommend either Mugen or Seidio. Amazon seems to have the battery and case with stand for mugen together but with Seidio looks like you have to purchase the battery and case with stand seperate. Both up there in price but very good. Hope this helps.
