New Phone.

The Zio crapped out for the second time in less then two weeks so I went to replace it and lost it in the process. So now I have the Ascend 2. 2.3 is ok. Getting ready to root this. Spz0, Mattix, and everyone here keep up the good work. Hopefully we can meet up on another phone someday. Thanks for all your help! Good luck with 2.3, I took the easy way. This phone already has speed issues. Plus I miss my theme and Vtl already.

Hope you enjoy your new phone. And if you want to try speeding it up a bit check Zio Development for Juwe11's Ram Script which should work on all phones. I created a fairly detailed thread and also linked to the original post for more information about it.

I was seriously thinking about getting this one, I would like to hear some pros and cons on it. Of course I may just go big time and get the new Samsung indulge. 1gHz processor FTW !!!

Space is an issue. And being so new is as well. Although this has more space then the Zio. No root yet. Do have Netflix, Flash, and the latest version of VTL all working great. 2.3 is ok, nothing to special. It also has a sense like function. Which is cool.

Is the keyboard better then the zio? I have been scoping out the ascend 2 as well as the newer kyocera echo both looking good in my opinion. Echo only if flashable to cricket though. Im getting real tired of the zio keyboard and froyo i loved gingeryoshi 1.2 on my mt3g lol.

Sinisin, I'm going to pm you with a link so you can try to obtain root access on your new phone and you can probably port CM7 from the Ascend. And since it's built for a lower end system it should fly, that is after a bit of work on the kernel,

I don't have a computer to work on anymore. So no getting my hands dirty :-(. But it's running good on vtl and has space and processor lag issues. Definitely needs root and link2sd. Optimized kernel. Development support. But comes with swype and docs to go for free. Dtg is like a 15 dollar application. Courtesy of huawei. Screen could be tighter. Not so accurate. 1400mah battery is ok so far.

Hi guys. I picked up an original Moto Droid (well, had it, but not working on cricKet) for $70 at a Verizon kiosk at the mall. It was a steal. Like-new condition, and I flashed over to CM7. Pretty sweet. I still have my ZIO for now, and I will try to help out here as much as I can, but my wife is making me sell it after I'm finished putting the Droid together. :/
Anyway, I'm not too apprehensive about flashing experimental stuff, because I'll probably just flash back to stock before I sell it, so let me know, yeah?

This is the phone the Zio should have been. It's hands down a nice phone once it's rooted. Fast, responsive. No lag ever. No glitches so far. Can't wait for Roms!

My Zio dive bombed as well
I screwed my Zio up so I went out and bought the Samsung Indulge by Cricket to replace it. Mostly the 1ghz cpu in the phone was why I bought it.
So far totally stock it seems to be running really sweet with much much less mistyped words unlike the Zio with any keyboard you use with it.
Only problem I'm having now is trying to get it rooted and see about some custome roms for it. I found a website, http://androidforums.com/indulge-al...-scripts-indulge-r910-r915-win-mac-linux.html
that is working on such things as getting cwm and such working on the phone. I'm no where near knowlegable enough to figure that stuff out myself I tried miserably on the Zio.
If anyone has this phone from Cricket and knows how to get it rooted as well as getting the usb drivers to work for my pc to reconize the phone can you help me out with it?
Thank you in advance for any help. I'm still searching around trying to find out about the phone in hopes of what I may find in the forum here about it.

Glad to see you got it rooted. Im still using my zio but picked up a dell streak 7. Loving it so far. Awesome tablet and it works seamlessly with my zio

I too have crossed over to the ascend2 and after only half a day no root and complete stock this phone is way better than the Zio hands down. This is everything it should have been and more. My only complaint thus far is the screen resolution doesnt seem as crisp as the Zio but I can live with that. Now I am off to root it.

Root it then play with the LCD density in build.prop and maybe you can get a crisper display.

My first impressions of the thrill 4g

Well it has been 24 hours with my thrill.. Love it! Getting 12-16 hours with moderate use and everything seems to be in perfect working order!! Getting ready to go top Las Vegas will update when I get back as to how it is doing... Do far I am not rooted and stock.

I agree this phone is great gets about the same battery life aS my
Infuse. Getting use to the size lol it is amazing how much the screen size is different.

Back from Las Vegas and all I have to say is wow! This phone is awesome! My battery life is great at the end of the day my Thrill outlasted my wife's infuse with miui and some of my custom mods. So far I have rooted installed setcpu set it to the lowest min and the Max with the setting hotplug. As I tweak with this phone some more I will see what I can come up with.

TSF pro launcher

Has anyone tried this launcher? I get a FC everytime I open it. Just curious if anyone else is getting this issue. I am running wc Rom 3.5 with mods.

Yeah us ct guys are pretty rare around these parts but I like the app it run smooth and its very quick. It's a nice alternative to sense. I am looking forward to the future development of this app

For those people with this launcher, is it actually worth the ~17 dollars it costs??
it looks awesome, but 17 dollars is hard to justify for a launcher that im not even sure ill keep..

Don't know, bought bunch of them, even SPB, but after a while get bored, also many of them laggy after days of use, now I switch adw ex/ sense, sometimes go back to zeam, one of the fastest and free lol. Don't think I'm gonna spend one more dollar on any launcher.

It depends I really like it because it's so different and I've been using it since only yesterday but I haven't noticed any slow downs its very fast and smooth. I think there's a lot more potential here. Plus you can always buy it and return it with in 2 hours if you don't like it.

optimus 2x much faster than nexus prime?!

i was at a store today and i was able to use the samsung galaxy nexus for quite a while.. i was thinking of getting it next month but i was quite disappointed after playin with it.. my optmus 2x is much faster on ics! the only thing i loved about it was its screen... it was like.. whoa!! the perfect screen.. but even its launcher was too laggy :/ scrolling from apps to widgets screen made the phone look sooo slow.. what is your opinion on it?? should i get one of these or better avoid them?

My opinion is: do not judge the phone by how it behaves on the stock rom

hmmm i guess you are both right.. but isnt it strange that it is so crap out of the box?? if someone isnt in the modding trick he will be crying for the (lots of) money he gave for it.. and its the latest google official phone which should be flying while all the rest phones are walking..

Good point but you cant miss out on something you dont know or having experience.For that person phone is great and fast because they havent seen REALLY FAST AMD AWEASOME like we have catch my drift.
But yeah stock phones dual core or not are crap

LG rep visit

My LG rep came by today to show us the new optimus G pro and during this he showed us the Antutu score from his demo device. 19000something. He asked if my phone could get that so I ran it. And during the test I said to him "it's on battery saver mode so I'm not sure how well it's going to compare considering it's the same cpu" after the test finished I showed him the score 23000+. He was kinda speachless and started rambling about something else then asked me to text him a screenshot of that score.

Hey guys I have a slim build for your phone but don't have a device to test it with m7wls I build for the sghi577 and the sprint s2 so I know a thing or two about building ROMs I need someone to test this who knows how to use adb and can pull log cats etc I used cm device trees so it should be solid any takers

I'm not rooted or unlocked. I love the feel of this device the way it is. I know the 4.2 update is coming very soon so I'm waiting for that before doing anything. The wait is killing me but I'm a trooper lol

Hyping over getting 19,000?
And the LG is clocked the same as the One?
So, would pulling 20,000, still higher than his phones score, while under clocked to 1.3ghz be a burn and a half or what? Lol
I'm not sure power saver mode will throttle the cpu if it's a custom kernel. I've checked a few times and it seems to stop working in that respect. Same with tasker. I can't control cpu speeds with tasker using a custom.
