emulators on classicnerd? - TouchPad Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i'm having a hard time with emulators on classic nerd .3se. i have yet to make anything play on fpse or snes. it is a problem pertaining to something with the rom or am i just doing something wrong?
the emulators open. the games open, then crash. worked on xron cm7.
any1 have fpse working on classic nerd?

i don't think its hard question. any1 have fpse working?

Don't know about that rom, but with cm9 . 6 fpse works okay, but the audio is crackly. The N64 emulator works better than it did on cm7, snes, nes, and gameboy emulators are all solid. Six axis app is working perfectly to boot.

Could not get FPSE to work until I used a different GPU plugin. Haven't tried it with SNES emulators yet.
I went back to CM9 specifically because of the "games" issue, though. Classicnerd is a great ROM, but not exactly what I need.

Has someone tried emulators on X1 ?

Hi, Guys !
I was wondering if someone has tried some of the game emulators we have for WM - NeoGeo, Mame, Gameboy, PS1 and etc... and if yes, could you share your opinion about them and their performance on the X1 cause this could be a good solution to the otherwise poor with cool WVGA game titles phone .. Thank a lot
I tried mame. It works quite fine. Only problem is with lack of buttons to control the games. I guess this will be problem for all emulators.
Use search, there have been plenty of topics.
The best emulator is definitely MorphGear. It can emulate almost anything, from NES, SNES and Gameboy to Sega Megadrive and more! You can play in fullscreen in WVGA resolution. The smoothest speed possible on an emulator. Full customization of the keys. It is the best.
MorphGear is GD slow! i've tried only genesis module, which i had to use FPS = 4 and disable sound to be able to play on the right speed... so i concluded snes module will be even worse... anybody can run MorphGear in a decent manner??? i use PicoDrive, which runs perfectly smooth WITH SOUND!!!! it's also possible to use the hard keyboard keys, so after some training it became really playable.... minor drawback: you have to install wvgafix3 (search for it here at xda) to run it on xperia..... go for PicoDrive, you won't regret.....

MorphGear does all of those + fullscreen. Super Mario ftw!
Morphgear is very laggy for me when playing super mario. Any tweaks?
Very interested in this topic too!!!
I have messed around with mame quite a bit and am using FBA 0.14/0.12...i am sooo sad, that they do not develop this project anymore...without sound, the speed is not bad for some games!..with sound it lags too much i am afraid =/
cannot wait to test the ones you mentioned!
I tried pocket dosbox and played spelljammer pirates of realspace for a bit worked fine
... about MorphGear. GAPI runs the fastest on it but it doesn't work right. It scales the screen so it shows only a part of the gaming screen ... anybody know a fix for this?? Been wrecking my brain recently trying to get it work. With other display modes the fps just sucks.. Pocketgba I think uses GAPI and it runs supersmooth, but has numerous other problems so I'd prefer MorphGear.
ps. been searching this forum and googling this problem for like forever now

I haven't done any special tweaks. Just the regular stuff.
Haven't tried morphgear but pocket gba is slow

[REF] Gathering List of Tested-Working Android's Apps & Games on X1

Hello Everyone!
First Thanks to everyone who worked, working & will work on Android Development, specially for XPERIA X1.
And Thanks everyone who wants to help his/her friends in this big community that I learned a lot from.
The Purpose of this thread is listing all the apps that work properly on the X1.
Because as you know we have some hardware & software limitations in X1's Android such as:
Hardware: lack of accelerometer, compass & capacitive touchscreen; slow cpu ,etc. Software: lack of excellent drivers ,power management issue, etc.
So a list may be useful.
Then if you're agree, Let's start.
Please Don't list the names only. It would be better to include: A short explanation about the app or game & version number, the build you are using, the kernel you're using, how it works for you (for example laggy or smooth), & everything you think is necessary to run it & everything you think necessary to say.
I will try to keep the list updated.
Thanks

I like the idea. Let me start:
Doodle Jump (game) - game works smoothly, you just have to disable "Tilt" in options. Last time tested with 28-09-2010 CyanogenMod build + latest xdandroid kernel.
Fennec (web browser) - after waiting 5 minutes for fennec to start, interface showed up, but device froze (i had to do soft reset). Not recommended. Last time tested with 27/9 Tremere's Froyo.
Aldiko (eBook reader) - interface is little slow and sluggish, but it works without problems. Even functions like brightness control and turning pages with volume buttons. Last time tested with 28-09-2010 CyanogenMod build + latest xdandroid kernel.
Dolphin HD (web browser) - speed is about the same as stock android browser. It works fine. Last time tested with SuperFroyo build.
3d games working with CyanMod 6 (03.10.10):
fruit ninja-perfectly
ninja kaka-a lil bit worse
gangstar (gta analog)-perfectly
sandstorm-like on iPhone, smoooooth
N.O.V.A by Gameloft-having some lags
about 21 fps in each game i tested.
hey, yesterday i noticed an interesting fact- some android games which require accelerometer can be played on xperia without it (like Doodle Jump which we can try disabling "tilt")!!
plz someone test some of accelerometer games!)

You means "Gangstar: West Coast Hustle" ? Anybody can confirm that? This game is awesome, I'd like to play if it is playable "perfectly" on Xperia

I have problems with installing CM6.
Besides i've tested GameBoid. It Works perfectly.
I haven't tested 3D games yet.
yeees gameboid works)
gangstar works FOR ME perfectly
i am not responsible if it works on other person's CyanMod for x1
Hi there people.
As I'm interested in using android on my xperia, I just wanted to know how people manage to run 3d applications like N.O.V.A or Gangstar ?
I'm using Cyanogen Mod 6.0, that supports 3D(hope so).I wanted to know how people launch
3D games, because I could only run the 3D Racer from android market.Any other game I try to launch doesnt succeed (loading, black screen, error).
Thanks, and sorry for bad English.
Gameboid, Snesoid, Nesoid and Gensoid work well with Trememer's new build.
It works **** on Cyanogen. I wouldn't compare the two builds in performance but in terms of gaming tremere's>cyanogen

I also have the same problem on [CyanogenMod6 Update 03-10-2010] and [Barebone][CM6.1][11-10-2010] too. But I've just downloaded SD Files for each game and copy on SD card to gameloft folder, maybe we have to download additional files via WiFi and it will work? Unfortunately I don't have free WiFi connection :/ I also try Gameloft Game Launcher, but it didn't help for me. Maybe someone write a tutorial how to launch this games? We would be very grateful. Regards
Sorry for my english.
hi,
I tried The 3d talking tom cat,first time it didn't work,but after rebooting,it worked but a little laggy(low fps)
but i think in CM6 3d working it should work smoothly with good fps.

i used it in neopeek's froyo(12/sep/2010 version)
Hi there people,
Today i tried to install gameloft's real footbal 2010, and its working, but its too lagy i mean its running but with 8-12 frames per second.
30.10.2010. Tried NFS Shift, and its working, but without the g sensor it is not playable.

Can you upload some videos how you play that games? I tried million times, but any 3D game from gameloft doesn't work :/
Using "finally usable" release ( can't remember actual name right now)
Paper toss - Bad framerate. Animations are far from smooth, but still playable.
Angry birds - weird "scanlines" appear randomly. Also game won't respond when i start (or I just don't know how to play)
What about puting gathered data to first post?

Gameboid

Anybody got gameboid working for D3? I have a gba-bios.bin and FireRed rom ready, but when I start up the rom, it automatically closes.
Gameboid runs perfect on my Droid 3. Although I don't play and therefore didn't try to load ANY Pokemon ROM.
Just tried to load Fire Red and it runs perfectly fine. Every GBA ROM that I tried to load runs fine on my Milestone 3 with Gameboid.
It's odd in the way it works. i had to download an extra file to get it to run(i just googled the issue) but it runs flawlessly now. i love the physical keyboard cause it's like playing on an old gameboy again try going in through your computer and making a separate folder for the games, and see if that helps any.

games that use the hardware keyboard

do you know any fun games that use the keyboard as input except emulators and run smoothly the droid/milestone?

Super Mario is the one I know of. you can configure keys so it's pretty fun
i played also Tombi, PSX game.

RetroArch runs like ass

i'm looking here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116468
one of the demo videos shows a hp touchpad running snes fine
when i try some snes games (non-fx), it lags
i remember when i was running the an old version of retroarch (on of the version before it got removed from the play store) it was running snes no problems
now it even lags when overclocked kernel (cm9 - 1.5ghz)
i'm thinking it might be the settings (i've tried every snes core, same results)
if anything has encountered or know how to fix, post in this thread
