I posted this in Smart Keyboard's forum, but I thought others who don't go to that forum may like the skin I put together.
If you look in this thread, meyergre made an ICS skin. This is great, but I wanted to mimic the look of the official ICS keyboard as much as possible. I started with meyergre's ICS-SDK skin for colors and symbol key images, then took button images from cyril's Gingerbread skin and recolored them to look like ICS keys (more flat and monotone).
In my efforts to mimic the official ICS keyboard as much as possible, these are the changes I made compared to meyergre's:
Different key appearance. Specifically, the corners are more sharp and the top highlight is thinner to make the button look flatter.
Colors of words in the candidate bar look exactly like that in the ICS keyboard instead of being mostly white.
There is now a subtle but apparent divider between candidate words.
Keyboard font changed from regular Roboto to bold Roboto.
This is how it turned out (Note: I set my key height to be smaller than default, that's why the keys may look short).

UPDATE 02/18/2012
A few things have been bugging me for some time. Well, I finally became not lazy and decided to fix it. I made the following changes in ICS Copy 2
Changed background color of normal keys to be lighter and closer resemble the actual ICS keyboard
Changed the appearance of the bottom left and right corners of normal keys to look better shaped
See screenshot below for a comparison.
Also, I made this specifically for hdpi. I do not know enough about image editing to know how to efficiently resize what I have to display properly on mdpi. This skin will still work on mdpi devices, but it still has meyergre's images for those. Sorry!
Many thanks to cyril for making the Gingerbread skin available for customization, and thanks to meyergre for releasing the first ICS theme and helping me along the way.

Make a folder in your sdcard named Skins and put the zip file in there. Do not extract the zip file, just download it and copy it there as is. Then go to your smart keyboard settings > general settings > select skin.

Updated the post with an improved version of the skin.
Will there be anymore updates? This theme is just great, just like the keyboard itself
Thanks for the great skin! :good:

Yup, you all guessed it!
This is a GTX type of taskbar for 6.5 (not 6.5.x).
It's the perfect GTX Taskbar by far, I highly recommend you try it out if you have the GTX theme.
Just take a look for yourself:

I edited the CDMA_RSSI_PPC.dll to change the signal bars with the black bg; originally it was a replica of the desire taskbar by Dark. Now it has the color patch for the start menu text color, and it also has the modified CDMA icons and start menu logo color to black, along with the white background.. (No more installing separate cabs)
This is your AIO.
Love it. Can you make one for 6.5.x also. I'm sure there are many who would love to have it on their 6.5.x phones also.
Thanks.
ooo this looks nice... i'm hoping that all the icons are skinned?? not just the major ones?? and are there any bugs/issues that have shown up?
taskmanager
is it possible somehow to make taskmanager also black...not white ??
Thanks for sharing!
Will write about this soon.
Kind of irrelevant for the theme, but LOL at 28 Voicemails. Jesus, you must be popular.
Nice work, all-in-all though!
Hi,
I just wanted to say that it does look good, although i would have preferred if you PM'd or contacted me before re-releasing my mod of the taskbar..
Good work although, if i could suggest as the maker of the taskbar, if you could post a cab (or zip) of only the files you have modded rather than the whole taskbar..
(The CDMA dll and the shellres) Which can then be installed on top of my original taskbar?
Thanks alot and great work.
Cheers,
Dark Ninja

Hi, I'm still fairly new to these things and without the benefits of the wiki I cannot say. Although I've yet to see anyone skin the the taskmgr icon. The only I can think is adding a black bg to the exact area of placement. Or we could possily edit the X2 version...
I may try this again sometime.

Thanks for understanding, i think you could form a cab with the standard stuff which you added or changed..
So if anyone wished to install your mod, it would be.. My cab.. then your mod on top.. that way more choices as i have lots of battery differences etc..
So if you add the files you changed, cdma, shell etc and you could go on and add the color patch i think itl be good enough to install my cab then yours to get it to look like you sc

I hope I'm still the first person who has 'ported' the Desire Z HTC Wood theme to Windows Mobile, otherwise it would have been a waste of time

Do you mean the unlock slider or the tab slider?
- In case of the unlock slider; use the HD mini slider, as this is the original Android slider
- In case of the tab slider; no intentions of changing it (but I have to admit it would look better)

i was thinking about a tab slider. i tried to find wooden tab sliders and found some but the wood did not look as good as the wood you use. a lockscreen would be awesome as well.

You do know the lockscreen is included (using Cookie's Home Tab mod)? See first post
btw I didn't make a wooden tabslider, as the default grey tab matches nice with the wallpaper

Its called "battery monitor widget" I'm using it. I like it better than current widget.
Who it needs:
Transparent Battery Monitor Widget (also without vertical Battery Scale)
Thanks Chris X. & internauta2000 for two Applications Extra
It's really beautiful. Thank you for your work.
Looks nice. Does that funny looking little "Back/Undo" arrow come with it? Cus.. I don't really like that.
Also, going based entirely on your screenshot, it seems like it could use a bit of a touch up. The alignment is slightly off and the widget appears slightly higher than the others.
Nice work regardless for an initial release.

This is a Froyo theme for those of you who miss the old android. For screenshots, just search the web - it's just stock Froyo.
HDPI/MDPI supported.
Enjoy!
Update (20/5) -
Fixed headphone icon
Transparent notif background
Old school power widget icons
Rounded-edge status bar
screenshoot please...
THANK YOU !
I was waiting for someone to do this. It fits clear themes and setup more than the dark gingerbread look.
One bug so far : in the notification bar (one pulled down), the background isn't clear white but shows like a grey-out checkerboard...
So far so good however...

Not a bug. It's stock. I ported it directly from AOSP, no modifications.

+1 But im running MDPI
Figured out the notif-background. Will upload new version soon, kinda busy atm though.
good job!
dont suppose you fancy making a honeycomb theme?
i had a go today but i have no theming knowledge. my guess is it would only involve using most of the assets from the honeybread hdpi theme and just replacing the notification drop down headers and background.
Totally legend idea.
thank you
very nice
This is a great idea, and so far- very well done.
Is there any way you can theme the remaining parts... (like keyboard)
Is this something you intend on developing, or are you done "as-is"?
Thanks again, so far its great

Thanks man good work
by any chance would you be willing to make one without the curved edges on the notification bar if not its cool
Thanks! Very nice work!
Nice upload!!!
This is awesome, I've been waiting for someone to do this for a while, BUT the notification power widget still turns out grey, like it hasn't changed from gingerbread at all. I've tried reinstalling and rebooting but the problem still exists :/
EDIT: I have a wildfire so it might be the screen resolution...

Nicely done, expecting big things here!

im diggin it.. we need more themes for power amp
To those that have been using this theme expect a update this weekend.
There have been 78 downloads and no feedback here at all. If you like the theme please comment saying you like it at least or I will not update this theme Here as it will seem like there is no interest in it. It Doesn't mean I'm going to quit working on the theme it just means you will have to find updates to my theme elsewhere.
I like where the theme is going just a bit unsure about the dark red font because it can be slightly hard to read. Looking forward to seeing this completed though. What are you using to make the theme? I tried to de-compile the standard theme but it wouldn't de-compile properly and I have no experience with eclipse

Here is the place to look to understanding on how to make a theme for poweramp - Here
It requires some basic android knowledge but basically other than that you should be good to go. If you got more questions about making a theme PM Me.
As for the font I agree I've been considering changing some things to make it brighter as the red font/media controls are to dark on my Galaxy Nexus during the Daytime.

Awesome work. Looks promising. You have no idea how much ppl are gonna freak out once it's done. I'm planning on making themes myself once I get a better Internet for my tab 2. Like they say, the "if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself". Cannot find THE PERFECT THEME for my tab 2. Keep up the good work. I'm with ya on this.
