hi.
is over clock harmful for x8 cpu?if its not.give me the best range for over clocking
It's hard to say what range is safe, cause it depends on Your x8's CPU. One x8 is stable at 787mhz, the other is unstable at 728. If You're lucky Your device will work without reboots even on +806mhz You should try by Yourself where's the limit of Your x8's CPU
My device works at 787mhz without reboots, but I set max frequency at 729, cause I don't need more
My x8 work at 787 too... nothing reboots
i mean can overclock decrease CPU life?

what exactly does over clocking do, I think I have the general idea of what it does...... and what do you over clock 2?
overclocking changes the frequency at which your phone's processor works, thereby making it faster. You use batterystatus to overclock. Most of us overclock to 243 or 273,i believe
Your upper limit depends on your particular device. Some can only overclock a few mhz past the stock 201mhz. Some can overclock to 299+.
But it basically allows your device to perform faster at the cost of battery, heat and technically longevity.
Setcpu determines that 1704mhz can be achieved, would it be safe running the GNote at that constantly does anyone know?
Hmm...
I would say, this is depending on more than only the frequency,
if you set the voltages for 1704mhz on e.g. 1650mV u'll get a very hot phone and a hot accu... this will not be good for ur phone, if you're doing this constantly.
But if u find a good compromise between voltage and frequncy, u can do this constantly.
Also you could make profiles in SetCPU so that for example if you're gaming it will set voltage and frequency to 1704mhz and if your screen is off, it setz frequency to 800mhz.
So you have to decide if u'll want to take the risk...
I hope i could help u and sorry for my bad english,
Schnizel.
Aside from benchmarks theres no real benefit from running at 1.7ghz. Most of the time thebphone stays at 200 to 1200mhz
safe?
thought overclocking is always a risk. think nobody here will tell go do it its safe is there ?
and why would you overclock a 1,4ghz dual core in a mobile ?
Thanks, i've seen in a different thread that the voltage would need to be lowered so overheating isnt too bad.
SetCPU gives information on what frequencies are used by percentage and mine is either minimum or max so it suggested its topping out while doing stuff....
1.7ghz is too much for a constant setting.
I had my phone at 1.7 and while watching Netflix on 3G, it would get TOO HOT. and i mean TOO HOT.
So yeah guys, as tittle says, i'm now at last set up sucessfully the Ginger DX v22 rom and Alfs Kernel v06 and now i would like to overclock.
As i went in CyanogenMod settings under performace and CPU, i saw that the min CPU frequency is 122 mhz (can be up to 806mhz) and max CPU frequency is 600 (can be up to 806 mhz).
So i wondered maybe some1 of you uses this ROM and Kernel togerther and can suggest me what is the MIN/MaX frequency i can set for phone to RUN it stable.
(I mean in both, in "min cpu frequncey" what can be max, and in "max cpu frequency" what can be the max.
And should i use setcpu app or just TICK the boxes in the performace menu.
Thanks.
122MHz~787MHz with smartassV2..that stable for me.but now i use 600 no OC anymore
Okay will try it out. But why no OC anymore? Stopped for games and new start for battery?
LOL..i dont install any game.

With 787mhz, i got random reboots each after 15 mins, i think it's because of overheating, will try lower frequency.
its depand on cpu..mine stable at 787 you try 768..i guest its ok
for me best is min 122 and max 748 whit ondemand
you dont need set cpu just set performance menu thats all you need
It's kinda stable at ~768 mhz BUT....
but it very often when playing games says me to "force close" some kind a "call log"
and it pauses the game, and often pisses me of ...
Can i delete it, because i don't even know what is it.
My phone is stable on 768mhz

Hello all! Is recommended overclock your phone with stock kernel and gingerdx v25? If so, at what frequency (maximum, minimum)?
Sorry for my English
It's neither prohibited nor recommended. You can overclock Your device if You want to, but if You see that every game You play works smooth, there isn't any lags in ROM menu etc... so what for? If there are lags than You should try. Max frequency depends on Your phone - some x8 works without reboot @ 825mhz, some of them only @~700. Min frequency should be about 122, cause it guarentees that when You wake up Your phone it will happen without any delay. And as You propably know - overclocking will decrease time between chargings.
I would like your own opinion. You have overclocked your phone with stock kernel and not?
Sorry for my English
When I was on stock kernel - no. Even now, when I use nAa 11 kernel I don't need to do that There was a period of time when I overclocked my x8 only to see the diference (stable frequency 787, on 806 my x8 get reboots; I also tried lower freq. f.e. 691mhz). So yes, it was faster, but there was also a huge battery draining. So I stopped. And now on MiniCm7 2.2.0 my x8 works without charging for 4 days (sometimes even 5 ).
Ok, thanks. There are other own opinion ?
And strong home and messages in memory increase the perfomance ? How often do you advise me to overclock the phone (MAX and MIN)?
Sorry for my English
And the phone might break?
Sorry for my English
It all depends, cuz some phones can overclock at 800(?) And
Some 900 (?) But some can only do 700 and dome chant even overclock without rebooting. It all depends on your phone. But, if you ovedclock at like 1000 (even possible?) It will overheat and brake. (Or blow up )

dear modders
i just want to say i overclocked my htc one m7 cpu from 1.7ghz to 2.1 GHZ
with a custom kernel called ElementalX-m7-22.3-Sense
is this save can the phone run this without any stability issue's or shall i downclock it to 1.9
i use M7_Sense7_artmod_10.0 rom Lolipop 5.0.2 with sense 7 cause this is the only one without any bugs like no sound when you got called or sms sound's no boot sounds
i fixed my boot sound anyway on this rom
so my question is wont my phone be fried by this overclock cause i saw in the aroma installer that it can be overclock till 3 GHZ

Overclocking the CPU in any system usually results in 2 main things:
a. Significantly shorter battery life.
b. heating issues.
sometimes (less frequently) you might experience a crash and fc here and there.
So yeah, it won't be all rainbows and butterflies.
PS: you probably won't reap the benefits of your now overclocked CPU without an app like no frills CPU or kernel Aduitor. Your device's performance isn't just about its CPU frequency, there's the min Max frequency your system is allowed to utilize, the CPU governor, and the I/o scheduler..
and
PPS: don't and I repeat DO NOT go anywhere near 3 GHz.
good luck.
I'm runnimg 2.1 Ghz OC for over 2 years without any issues. I would like to note that 2.1 Ghz on Elemental was not too stable for me, so I ran that on 2.0 Ghz. Anyway - i don't have any issues with my kernel, no overheating, battery lasts 100% same as stock frequency, no reboots, everything works as it's ment to work. If you really want to run on that frequency, make sure you set your voltage table to match your CPU clocks. Undervolting is not a good idea on such high clocks, so you might want to raise your voltages for higher frequencies a bit

ok mate
yeah i could raise also min clocks might turn that a noch up
just was wondering if it was possible without any harms
there are now on 384mhz 1 core is always active and 3 others are sleeping aid64 tells me
the temps are now 29 celcuis for 2.1 ghz

yeaah the kernel has those options in aroma installer it set it safe i ques
ill post later some picture's of what ive been doing
good nites
here are some pictures of my sense 7 5.0.2 android system dump of htc one m9 for htc one m7 xD overclocked
some temps and cpu tweaks and ofc of the system (dont mind about the girl on the screenshot its my girlfriend not me iam a boy
btw i removed phone number on call menu cause it's private
