Hi, folks!
I've got a problem with my bluetooth device.
Here's a description:
1. Bluetooth switches on (OK)
2. "Make visible" checked (OK)
Problem 1: Even if "Make visible" is checked, other devices were unable to find my device
Problem 2: My device is unable to find any other device, searching is taking a while, but with no results.
Problem 3: Sometimes I successfully found a device (my galaxy tab 10.1) but just after I choose "pair" nothing happens.
Important notes:
1. I tried procedure mentioned above with Custom ROM and with official ROM
2. I tried with several devices (my tablet, my PC, two other phones...) - no luck.
Please, anyone has some suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi,
I've installed the lates Kies (1.5.3.10093_80) and have three problems:
1) When i try to update Kies to 81 release it doesn't want to find any updates. I tried two ways: from Kies application and manually start MCS.Thunder.Update.exe. From Kies it never finds any updates and MCS.Thunder.Update.exe crashes after some time before it find anything to update
2) Phone connects to the PC fine and i can see it in Kies, but i can't do anything, browse contacts or calendar. When i try to save contacts on PC i receive "The device is in use. Stop using the device then try again". I tried to find any application on PC which can use it without any success.
3) On home notebook Kies finds phone OK but at work it is endlessly says: Connecting to the phone. I've already tried to change COM port number, settings for USB connection ... nothing helps.
Any ideas?
PS All device drivers seems to be installed OK
I have exactly the same problem as you mentioned under point 2. Same holds for the agenda by the way.
I just updated to 93-81 (automatically via KIES)
Does anyone have a solution?
Me too having this problem...
Same issues for me. I've just discovered Android Manager Wifi which gives all we need to save and restore contacts. Nice to use until Kies issues are resolved.
All of these issues are well known and almost everyone is having them. There was a standalone massive thread about Samsung Kies and its issues, but I can't find it. You need to get used to it - usually im my case the Mass Storage is activated after restarting my phone. As I use tethering rather often, I usually have to try connecting and disconnecting the phone several times until I'm lucky.
When it comes to Kies update itself, that is another disaster - I usually try it on different networks - if it can't find updates at home and I know there is one, I just go and try it at the university wifi. The same with firmware updates, etc.
I undo the oneclick lag fix v 2.1.2 by ryanza and it works like a charm now
thnak you very much nick_goh!
Thats was it. Undo OCLF and Kies starts working as it should.
Lagfix is the problem
Yes, the lagfix is the problem, but who can fix the lag fix or the kies!?
laffix
What if you are experiencing that same "Device is in use" issue but did NOT ever install the lagfix ?
Unless theres something that went on in rooting your phone as that is the only non-factory thing that I ever did!
I already installed several apps to try to find the culprit that might be causing this but no luck. I'm almost considering going back to factory and re-installing all samsung updates from scratch on. ....unless there is another way
i have recently rooted my captivate and i am using new android 2.3.5 and kk4 kernal.
All the basic things i know like flight mode disable etc.
Problem:
1. wifi shows error
2. mac address unavailable in advance tab
3. Bluetooth not working
4. There is no file in /data/wifi folder
Required:
1. please tell me is it hardware error or software.
2. where is wifi and bluetooth drivers in android os (i need location plz)
3. i have to know how i can debug my wifi
and last thing please share some body /data/wifi folder files
i shell be very thankful to you people.
Software
To me this sounds like a software error. I would recommend you try a new ROM with a new kernel and a new modem, preferably one that is know to work well with Captivates. If i may suggest, try DarkyROM at www.darkyrom.com, i can help flash that if you would like, you won't regret it, amazing rom.
I'm not sure if its a software error. I have the same issue. I tried a bunch of different roms while doing a master clear/factory reset. I ended up with the same wifi error on any platform... It was a hardware problem for me.
Time to get a new phone buddy if you haven't already tried flashing different roms
Im having the same problem, and have flashed different roms. What about buying a new antenna? That's what I'm thinking.
I have a rooted GT-P6210 that was working perfectly fine and last night I updated Busy Box Free from Google Play. Busy Box Free reported an error with the install and shortly after I noticed that my Wi-Fi would no longer connect. It just reports "Error" after trying to connect to Wi-Fi.
I tried re-rooting my device but that didn't fix my Wi-Fi issues. I researched everywhere I could think of to unroot my device but all the threads seem to refer to guides that I don't see and firmware links that no longer work. I managed to find a copy of Odin3-v3.04 but I still don't have instructions on how to do it nor do I have the firmware that I need.
I decided I would try going back to factory settings by powering off the device and booting into system recovery. I have done a wipe data/factory reset multiple times but Wi-Fi still doesn't work and I don't even know if that removed the root job I did.
When I plug my device into my PC and run Samsung Kies it reports that I have the latest firmware PDA:LA3 / CSC:LA3 (XAR)
So I am stuck and not sure what to do at this point. I have a pretty useless device that won't connect to Wi-Fi. I don't know if I wait around for ICS and install that if it will fix my problem.
Is there anyone that could help me restore my device to factory settings with actual guides, and provide working links to the firmware I would need?
Thanks for your help,
Bryson
You are in the wrong forum.
This is Galaxy Tab 7" not plus.
Might be better asking at the right place

I need help, my Xperia ZR cant connect to 2.4 GHz networks, it detect them, but when you try to connect, they go all the way down and it appears as "out of range", I have tried several 2.4 networks, until today I tried with a 5.0 GHz router and it connected in less than 1 second, so I dont know how to fix this problem, I would appreciate step by step instructions, like what to download and how to proceed, noob style.
I have tried PC companion factory reset, I have the latest update, and it did not solve the problem, I found this solution, but I dont know how to do it or if it would solve my problem:
This is an official solution I found after weeks of testing and research. In the end, the driver is not loaded properly or by default, custom ROM created the havoc.
I noticed that when running ADB GUI, there is this file missing from /system/data/misc/wifi called WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini .
I'm using ADB Helper Version 4.2.0.0, under build.prop Viewer tab, choose wlan.driver.config it points to that location. I downloaded it from somewhere on the Xperia developer forum website. Then I modified and modified until I found the solution.
In this file I modified the line gDotMode=3 (which is running in N mode only) to either 1 or 2 which s "a" or "b" mode.
I rebooted the device and the wifi works and N mode is disabled meaning you wont be able to connect in 5GHz mode anymore. But you will be able to connect to all the CURRENT 2.4GHz AP.
I read somewhere where ICS android allows you to Enable or Disable 5GHz scanning of AP. But was removed from later versions.
Now, my phone can connect to any 2.4GHz WiFi.
Thanks for any help
Hello everybody!
Im really tired of searching for solutions to make the galaxy watch connect my S10. I think i've tried a lot og things and nothing has worked
1. I tried by installing a custom rom, Ambasadii 2 to be exact and it worked fine with the watch, then when i went to apply the patch certificate (i flashed my phone wrong before) it says fail, try only with stock rom. so i had to go back to a stock rom with chimera and apply the certificate patch again.
2. i saw a couple of posts with a solution modifying the fingerprint and props but i tried it in the stock rom and didnt work
the app opens and it trys to connect the watch, i can confirm the code and it says pairing, but stays there forever.
i also tried the wifi method
3. I downloaded the module bluetooth library.. and nothing happened
4. i've searched for a mod app or an alternative app for galaxy wearable and couldnt find any.
I would really appreciate if someone can help me out here!
thanks in advance
