Phone runs faster on standard battery - LG Revolution

My phone seems to run smoother when I'm on my standard battery than my extended..anyone having this problem....happened after I flashed blitzkrieg
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App

Only thing i can think of would be heat buildup due to the larger size of the battery. If the mass of an object is increased the thermal transfer rate stays the same, however its capacity to store energy in the form of heat has increased exponentially in proportion to its mass, and this is further compounded because the thermal transference is limited to its environment, which in this case is the body/casing of the phone. So thermal dynamics would be at the top of the list in this case. But hell... I'm just guessing.
Sent from my VS910 4G using XDA App

Yep what you said sounds like the best logic although it started draining extra juice after the blitzkrieg

Mine runs extremely good on the extended battery.

[Q] When to Battery Calibrate

Do i need to do a battery calibration when switching between the extended battery and the regular? Depending on my work day i take a different batter with me but the extended seems to be dropping as fast at the standard one. I am running Blurry 1.3 ROM.
IMO its just a placebo effect

I had never run one before but when I stitched to blurry 1.3 I was losing 10% battery life every thirty minutes while not in use!! I was told to run the calibration on it and boy did it help, now I drop ten or so every hour/hour and a half with heavy usage, and only a percent or two when not in use.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Absolutely. Placebo? The battery stats are for the stock battery. You put a bigger battery in, and you don't think you need to tell your system?
Don't calibrate and enjoy the same battery life you got on the regular battery.

I'll post a link to a great calibration trick in a minute. I was easily getting a day and a half on my x2, with heavy use.

Vivid Battery Life

So those that have a Vivid how has the battery life been? HTC has been getting a bad wrap for that.

RE: Battery Vivid Life
Mine has been absolutely horrid. With moderate use I'm lucky if it lasts 3 hours. To be honest, though, I didn't let it charge completely when I first got it - I was too excited. I'm actually recalibrating it now in hopes of improving it.

The notification light blinks yellow, and a big battery image and a message pop up on the screen when the battery level hits 10%, then again at 5%. It's pretty obvious. Also, the phone shuts down some background functions such as data syncing to conserve battery power.
Full on data streaming of my podcast or Rdio on Hspa drains my battery in 5 hours or so. With sporadic web browsing in there, just listening to cached music and podcast I stretch it past 8 hours. Better then my desire by 2/3 hours

Yeah, I thought my GS2 was good, but this is definitely better, especially considering LTE.
I finally ran it down to low battery the other day because an app ran away with my processor and drained my battery in the background. It did this in my locker while I was at the gym. When I finally pulled it out of my pants, it was super hot and down 20% lower than usual for that time of day. I restarted the phone and still managed to make it through the rest of the day and night before it died, but just barely.
Runaway apps is one of the things I have always hated about android, but that was the only time it happened since I bought the phone, so I can live with it.

Yeah, I'd read reviews that the battery life wasn't spectacular - but this is downright confusing! Do you think I ruined it by just using right out of the box without letting it do a few charge cycles (again I was TOO excited, the most excited I'd ever been about a phone)?

Just talked to att fond out LG has problems with the thrill and are working on fixing it, I hope they do this soon and I'm getting a 4G sim card turns out I'm not getting 4G speeds because my sim is to old

What problems? They say that about every Android device.
Mine is working just fine, sans the occasional glitch, which I also had on my Atrix, and the wife's Inspire, and my captivate, and the GS2 I tried... See a pattern?
Oh, and even my iPhones had problems.
No problems here.
They said that some of the thrill's battery's cause power failures like mine and have freezing problems another problem I have I had to warranty mine out

[Q] New cpu app to help with battery life?

Found this new CPU app and you can change the voltage in it
https://market.android.com/details?...29tLnNtYXJ0cHJvamVjdHMuQ1BVQ29udHJvbExpdGUiXQ..
I was wondering if blitz supported the voltage adjustments as maybe it would help us that get a decrease in battery life because of blitz? Ik its UC already but thought fine tuning it to phone could help even more?
Also, if you were to use this with rom toolbox would the CPU settings interfere? Would you have to remove rom toolbox?
Can't change voltage. Lol

Okay thanks I'll try it out.
A few things that people seem to forget when comparing battery life. One person can get twice the battery life than someone else for many reasons.
A few:
1) are you in a 3g or 4g area? 4g will use more battery because of dual radio (recommend to switch to CDMA only mode when in a 3g only area, OR when you don't need 4g connectivity)
2) What options are running? (Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, etc) Don't have any of those features on, especially Wifi, it will suck your battery down quick.
3) Your CPU app (Such as SetCPU). Is is set to Performance, OnDemand, PowerSave? I don't fiddle around with custom settings, just use the stock of those 3 and notice a major battery improvement with just the stock PowerSave.
4) Is your screen brightness on manual or auto mode? Auto mode will take 2-5 times as much juice as it's constantly scanning and changing screen brightness.
5) (almost forgot this) Most importantly, make sure you are in a good signal area (at least 80%) before complaining of poor battery life. Anything below 80% signal can cause your phone to search hi and low for a better tower and better signal. Anything below 50% is likely to draing your battery in half the time, or even less. Constant scanning for a better signal uses up a LOT of juice. I've had past phones that lasted for 2.5 days on a single charge when in full signal. Down to about 10-12 hours in poor signal and similar usage in both areas.
5.5) Those who don't yet know... Don't complain like the ones on Verizon website/reviews where the only thing that some will complain, or markdown on, is battery life. You are using (by assumption you reading this in this forum) a 4g, dual mode phone. NOOBS: This means there are two radios/antennas in your phone that are working together. One on 3g(CDMA) and one on 4g(LTE). This automatically makes your 4g phone use more battery. Don't like it? Go buy a 3g only phone... :O
Make sure to also not have any 'task manager/killer' running. These apps are not only bad for your phone (been proven), but they also use more juice than they save. At least in my experience and from other posts I have read.
-Cybie

Battery life is incredible. Post your results here.

This is with screen on full brightness, moderate use, all sensors, sync enabled, and on mobile data. Leaps and bounds over E4GT.
Edit: battery is at 57% still

Agreed. Mine has blown my E4GT away in battery life, and I haven't even been using the little tricks like turning data off when I'm at work yet.
I normally would have to plug mine in by noon after being unplugged since 7am. And that was screen halfway dimmed and barely any use

All phones have ****ty battery life when you're hacking and popping bursters everywhere. But my GS4 has done the best so far!
I'm excited to see it. I'll leave my house with a full charge, and streaming radio over 3G to my bluetooth headset for 2 hours and browsing the web for 20 minutes knocks my Evo 3D down to 30%.

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2
Not doing anything special here. Haven't removed any bloat yet, not using power saving mode, using auto brightness.
Maybe I just have a strong signal. Weak signal can cause the radio to ramp up power and chew up a lot of battery...
