You can always go back to stock, re-root, install CWM, and try restoring again if you are still having trouble. Use Odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
Ok, I also rooted and installed eSPyel's Paragon ROM and everything is great. However, when I go into CWM and boot into recovery, I get the same issue--it goes to the Samsung Recover <e3> screen (with purple text) and tries installing something but states it failed. I then can move up and down the menus with the Vol Up/Vol Dn buttons but pressing power does nothing. If I remove and then reinsert the battery, it takes me to CWM recovery screen where I can install new ROMs, etc. It goes this every time I try to boot into recovery. Does anyone know a fix or do I just need to Odin back to stock and try again?
i cant get into my recovery, i have a recovery image, im on cm7 rc3, i tried flashing to the stable using rom manager, but i get stuck on the htc screen, i take out the battery, try flashing the normal way, and im still stuck on the htc screen, what can i do? i deleted gapps off my sd card and put the new one in, but i didnt flash right away, i tried flashing cm7 stable first, dont know if thats what caused the issue. thanks for your help
It puzzles me you say you can't get into recovery but you posted you tried flashing the rom threw rom manger and the " normal " way. I'm thinking the normal way is from your recovery. If you can get into recovery try this. Make a nandroid of your current rom. Then do a full wipe. As in data, cache & dev-cache. Then flash the rom and see if it boots up. If it does. Reboot back into recovery and flash the gapps. then reboot. See if that works. If you cant actually get into recovery just post back and either myself or fellow xda members will try and help you out.

i cant get into recovery at all, what i wrote was i tried flashing the cm7 stable from rom manager first, but it got stuck on the htc screen, then tried the normal way which is holding down the red button and clicking on the reboot-recovery option, and still got stuck on the htc screen. these are the only two ways i know to get into recovery, and holding down the volume down button and the power button, which didnt work for me either, basically i cant get into recovery. i thought it was because i deleted my gapps and didnt flash the new gapps file as soon as i put it in my sd card, but im not sure if that is the reason.
With power off
To boot into recovery you
Press & hold the red power button & press & hold the home buttom untill you see your recovery. Or Peres & hold the power button then press and hold the volume down button. A white screen will appear. When you see the white screen press the home button and wait. Your recovery should appear. If you just deleted your gapps zip from your SD it would not effect your recovery at all. I think your just caught in a boot loop and your not booting into recovery the correct way. But I'm not sure.let me know if this works. What recovery are you using???

If I'm not mistaken can't you tell rom manger were to look for the recovery you want to flash?? If so and you have a copy of the recovery on your sd you can flash it.

how about if he had said no?
thats just straight up a creek right?
I am having the same problem...except I never actually got Cyanogen flashed. I rooted my phone. Installed SuperUser to fix permissions. Installed Rom Recovery and flashed the Clockworks Recovery. Then I backed up the Rom and when I went to boot into recovery to flash Cyanogen, I just get the white HTC screen. I get the same issue with manual recovery (holding down home and turning the power on). I can boot normally, but I can't restore my backup or use any other recovery features. Any ideas?

Ok....I tried one more time using the Volume Down and Power, then selecting Home and for whatever reason it worked. So I cleared my cache and then I selected to installed zip from sdcard and selected the cyanogen zip file. I get E: Error in /sdcard/update-cm-7.0.0-Hero-signed.zip (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Anyone know what that means?

Could just be a bad download. Redownload it and try again. Or it could mean its the wrong type of file. Or the zip needs to be signed.

ClockworkMod recovery wont boot up AT ALL
It wont let me in my recovery settings.
Pressing the down volume button and the power button gives me the recovery option, but will do the same exact thing.
In fact the second I go to it from ROM manager the screen goes black and then takes me to my HTC screen and just stays there.
I cant even go back to factory settings.
I would like to just restore my origional phone/settings and just forget about this whole flashing rom idea.
PLEASE help me. How do I get to my restore so I can go back to my old settings???

2 options you can try.
1. Copy the ClockworkMod.zip to the root of your SD card and rename it PG32IMG.zip and then boot into HBOOT and let it reinstall CWM.
2. Boot into HBOOT and use the FASTBOOT command to flash the CWM recovery image.
Not sure which one you had used before, but it would be worth trying the other option.

or even easier, install ROM manager from the market and use the one click option install CWM mod from within that.
Thanks...I used Android Flash 1.8 to flash the recovery back on my phone!!! And went from there. Actually the **4EXTRecovery_v2.1.0_RC1_vivo** is better to use for recovery and flashing in my opinion...Thats what I used..
Thanks for the reply guys.
Right so the problem is thus, I am running MIUI 1.9.23 and used rom manager to install CWM. I was then able to boot to CWM from rom manager but if I turn my phone off and try and boot by holding vol down and power the phone will show the S/W updating standard LG recovery.
Now this wouldn't be a problem but I regularly mess round with my phone and it means that if i am unable to boot to my ROM then I can't boot to recovery and I have to reflash the stock ROM with smartflash. This all seems rather counter-intuitive.
Anyone know how i can rectify the situation?
You're doing it wrong
Hold both power and volume till the blue LG logo appears.
Ahh man that was dumb, I'm coming from the desire where you can release everything pretty much immediately. Cheers
Ahaha... Before I did something worse..
I hold it until the menu appeared, then I release, and rebooted!
(because "Reboot" is the first upper menu )
Hey Guys,
After downloading the newest OTA-Update for my Note, it rebooted itself and is now stuck in the boot animation. I only hear the Samsung-Jingle once, but after that it keeps playing the animation over and over. I plugged the Note in and let it go all night, thinking it was part of the upgrade, but this morning it was still looping. I am not using a Root or Custom Rom - this is all stock.
I would appreciate any pointers and insight! Thanks.
Try booting to recovery (volume up + home + power) and do factory reset and wip cache.
Thanks for the reply.
I tried the VolumeUp-Home-Power: The phone will start, I can see the little Android with the status bar, but then it just moves on to the regular boot animation and I am right back in the loop.
Takes a Couple of tries, otherwise try download mode, volume button down, home button and power button. Then connect to PC and flash stockrom with odin.
Its tricky getting it right. Turn off phone, turn on and emediately press the button combos.
From recovery you can do a factory reset or clear dalvicc cache. Clearing this cache solved most of my bootloops.

Pull the battery out and put back in after 3-5 secs. Hold VolumeUp + Home + Power till u can see "Galaxy Note N7000" screen. then it ll boot in Recovery mode. here u can do "wipe / Factory Reset" and "Wipe cache". then after Just select Reboot.
This method should work. if you unable to get into recovery mode, then i guess something went wrong with OTA update. So you have to flash the Official ROM using PC Odin. You can find link to update Official ROM in my signature.
