Lost several applications ? You sure you only tried to root it ?
If anyhow you need root, better get a custom ROM (Overcome, Hyperdroid, ...) They are all rooted and stable and fast...

Then I would have to flash my rom no? I don't want to flash it unless I know how to get back to the original or previous one.
And will flashing make you lost your apps?

[Q] Nexus One not start after root...

Hi all,
I have a big problem. I have my old Nexus One that never I root or modify. Today, after more than 1 year of use and reading various root guides I decide root my phone. My phone are updated from Google to 2.3.3 and say that is version GRI40. After finish all process of root the phone boot perfect and run perfect. Later I install also the Recovery-RA to can make backups, etc.
After this the phone not boot any more... Keep frozen at main screen with the big "X" and the padlock at bottom.
I canĀ“t use any more my phone... any ideas or help? I forget one step?
I can boot perfect and run the Recovery(*) mode with Recovery-RA and all these options of this application.
All help are welcome!
THANKS!
(*) Recovery version is: RA-Passion-v2.2.1
Try flashing a new ROM, it sounds like it got corrupted when you installed RA. If you made a backup try restoring it, if not just do a factory reset and flash whatever ROM you pick.
Edit: You might also get more help if you ask in the Nexus forum.
OK, thanks!. I make a nandroid backup, that is the first that I try restore, but this not work. Now I try download any other. You know if exist exactly the same 2.3.3 that I have unmodified on my phone before I install RA? Thanks again!
There might be, just search for "stock ROM" in the nexus forum.
Thanks dbz!, I already use the GRI40_rooted_deodexed_busybox_apps2sd.zip that I found here and run again!!!
One more question: if I like on next update receive the update from Google that automatically update my phone like in the past before root, I can?
If you want to get an update from google you'll have to unroot. Usually when an update is released it isn't too long before a rooted version is released so just be patient.
You don't have to unroot the phone to get and install the OTA's in the future.
But when you apply a stock update you will loose root.

[Q] Losing Settings of all new apps after reboot or forced close

Hi guys,
My phone has been working great until today. for some reason now when I install a new app, if it is forced close or if I reboot the phone, I lose all the setting for the apps. It only happens to new apps, the one installed before today are (so far) keeping the settings.
Has this ever happened to anyone? Please help. I know some of you might suggest a factory reset, but unless somebody had this problem and reset helped with it, I will hold off on that because if it ends up not working I will be left with all my apps losing their settings all the time.
I am on I9000T on stock Froyo 2.2.1 if that can help.
Anyone? Please I really need help on this one. This has to have happened to somebody here?
Problem with the firmware.!!
I think that there must be a problem with the Firmware .. Try updating your phone via kies or Flashing Gingerbread using ODIN..

Before this, you could try and do a factory reset and see if the problem persists! If it does, then reflash with Odin! Good Luck!
Thanks for replying guys. I have a question: if it is a file system problem, will a firmware update or factory reset help?
Also, I have had this firmware for almost a year now, why would have I a problem with it now, I am not rooted and I have attempted (yet) anything with flashing.
If ur phone has a file-system error Reflashing or factory resetting ur phone will help 4 sure as the files will be cleaned up and installed again..u phone may have dis problem due to any virus... u need to root ur phone 1st then flash gb

I have also had this problem come up on my phone. The phone just crashed on a Sat night and on reboot the software looked like I had taken it out the box brand new. Lucky I had Titanium Backup and restored everything.
Only thing then is that the vast majority of apps don't remember settings and on a start of the app it's in 'first time' mode.
Did a ROM flash using ODIN and default ROM (search this forum for instructions and software if you need it) and this fixed it properly - 12 hours in and no issues.
Credits to Titanium Backup here - like insurance you only know if it's any good when you actually need it.

[Q] Can't update

Hi everyone.
I have an Optimus 2x, and when i updated it to 2.3.4 i could not use superoneclick to root my phone instead i found an answer on how to root it.
I needed to install cwm 5 and after that busybox and so on, and it worked, it was rooted.
Now i have a other problem, i have an update on my phone and when i click on installing it starts to reebot then it comes to cwm screen, there i'm stuck.
I have tryed everything there trying to update it but nothing works.
So now i am wondering if any of you can help me?
Got any idea what i can do to update or what i am doing wrong?
//Szander.
Ok, so now i did a recover so i get back my phone as it was before i installed cwm and tryed to update, it did work fine.
Until the update was done, then it stopped, and nothing i did worked the little android just stand there and looked at me.
So what now, i removed the battery and hoped for the best, now the phone would not bot at all.
After a few tears and a few swear words, i thougt about something, maybe i could use nvflash to get it all back as it was ???
I tryed closed my eyes and after a few minutes i could restart my phone and it loaded as useall, but the update was gone, ofcourse.
So now back to square one again.
Sigh (
Hi Szander,
So just to be completely clear, you're back at a perfectly stock 2.3.4 unrooted ROM and you want to root it, right?
Why not trying to follow cyanogen wiki to root it?

No.
I have cwm, and its still rooted.
What i want is to get rid of cwm so i can update to the latest update wich is v20q.
I have tryed this with recover but its only working on froyo, i belive i read it somewhere.
And when i recovered my phone then the problem really started, but thats fine now.
And as an plus is that now when i run LGMobileupdate tool its saying that i have v20q but in the phone it says that i still have v20I.
Weird.
I have read alittle more and (if i got it right) found out that i might just need to use smartflash on the phone via my computer to get rid of cwm and get a perfectly stocked phone again.
So can you help me please, hoping that you understand my problem.
Yup, as far as I know you are correct. To get your phone back to stock you need to flash a stock ROM using either smartflash or nvflash. I haven't done it so I can't guide you through it personally, but search this forum you should find the relevant threads easily enough.
If you have trouble finding it let me know I'll help you searching.
EDIT: By the way, thanks for Meshuggah, one of the best bands ever I should visit Sweden sometime

Google.process.gapps force close! What next?

Hi guys,
I have a friend's Note and I'm having some issues I need help with. First of all he rooted a few days back and installed some kind of ICS rom but something went wrong and couldn't make/receive calls. Then I guess he tried all kinds of random stuff. His counter is up to 33.
I tried to go back to a stock gingerbread version and start all over. I used odin, everything went smooth there, but when the phone tries to start up and get to the welcome screen where it says to touch the android to begin I get a force close "google.process.gapps" and I'm not able to do anything. It just force closes that over and over again. Not sure how to bypass this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Counter is at 33..Oi Wey!
Never mind that for the moment...try to boot into stock Recovery (Volume up + Home + Power) and do a factory reset from there.
Thanks man, that worked. Now i'm gonna try to root and install ICS.
By the way, is there a way to reset that counter back to 0?

Yes, of course.
1. Root your GB.
2. Install LP1 Repack (you need it to go to any custom ICS anyway).
3. Reboot and let your Repack settle for a bit.
4. Install Triangle Away, start it and let it do its business.
5. Flash a custom ICS of your choice.

Am I missing something

I flashed this file
S5830DTLKI4_S5830DTLSKI4_S5830DTLKI4_HOME.tar
this brought me back to the default telus install device is working ok boots as per normal etc.
I have restored twice now, I am not really worried about pooching the device as snooping around here I learned enough about making backups etc
But I would like to try this jellybean business
GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok I got it to go
I install clockworkmodace.zip from one of the threads here, then upgraded to 5.0.2.6 CWM then did the install of cm_ace-ota-eng.maclaw.beta1
then cleared the c ache and user data reboot and tada works
mods feel free to close this thread I am going to go play with my new toy
