Overclock Error?

hi al i tried to overclock my w8 tonight and when i downloaded the oc file from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020313
and paste it to system/lib/modules it says copy error file not found (read only system) what is this? any solution ?

you use root explorer? up you see a small rectangle button, with a r/o or r/w, click on it and try again.

ohoh okay ! downloaded root explorer now is fine ...wait i try if i can finish it!

i dont get what does this mean
-edit hw_config, add line insmod /system/lib/modules before battery fix command

go to system/etc, find the file hw_config.sh, click on it until a box appears, click on open with text editor and put theline you said..next save and reboot or upload your hw_config file that i make for you lol..you use stock kernel right?

ya stock ..i use rename ...am i wrong?

rename?? rename what?? just make what i said in post above if you see a line: "#battery fix bla bla bla" put above this line

theres a rename option ..i used the rename just now and nothing happened

just put the file in system/lib/modules, reboot and use an app called setcpu or no-frills cpu to oveclock the device.the line you said already exists in hwconfig file if you use gingerDx

ARRR i still cant!! i click edit using text editor at the front i typed in
insmod /system/lib/modules/x8oc.ko # x8 overclock
rebooted
nothing happened! =(

[Q] RR22 cifs, how to?

I have read all the sgn forum for how to have my windows shares working using cifs manager and I already tried i dunno how many cifs.ko modules and slow-work.ko modules to no avail...
I have it working on my dell streak without any stress but here on the gnote it simply won't work... so frustrating!
So i wanna do it from the beginning to be sure I am doing everything correct.
Could somebody write a small step by step tutorial and attach the correct files that work with Rocketrom v22 and abyss 3.9?

I fix this problem by changing file /system/etc/init.d/02Rocket
I change this line :
insmod /system/lib/modules/fuse.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/cifs.ko
To :
insmod /lib/modules/fuse.ko
insmod /lib/modules/cifs.ko
Then reboot.
But please make sure to check that you have fuse.ko and cifs.ko in /lib/modules/ directory.
And please backup 02Rocket file too before editing.

Tried that, still doesn't work unfortunately :/
in /lib/modules my cifs.ko is 332166 bytes, is that the correct one?
in /system/lib/modules I have a different one that is 3.2MB...
using lsmod I can see the module loaded, but don't I also have to load the slow-work.ko? that one I tried using insmod in terminal manager but it always fails to load with an error

Sorry man, i have no idea.
Right now my rom is ics chinese repack, so i don't have cifs.ko file again to check.
Maybe you can try use abyss 4, or you can use ES file explorer apps.
On this ics rom, i can't load cifs too, but ES file explorer working great accessing my samba share.

yeah, es file explorer works fine, but then other apps still can't access the shares and that's what I want.
Abyss 4 I tried and also can't make it work.
Anybody has it working using rr22 with abyss 4? And if yes can share the modules that makes it work?

[Q] i need a help on how to flash the kernel in x8

hi friendz...iam trying to install mini cm9 on my xperia x8 phone.so,i rooted the phone and unlocked the bootloader.but afterwards iam stuck with ics naa kernel i cannot flash that kernel.i tried downloading all the ics naa kernel and i moved it to the firmwares folder in the flashtool but the flash tool is not showing the ics naa kernel.i tried it many times but its not working.so please help me.i need a link to download the ics naa kernai in ftf format but all the links are in .zip or .rar format and when i extract it it shows only the loader.sin and kernal.sin fileand tell me the proceedure for flashing the ics naa kernel.

well, the files are in .zip format because your internet browser thinks it's a zip (i have this problem with opera). after you download it, just rename it from ***.zip to ***.ftf
or try to use another browser

when you download the file, for example right click the file - Save As or save link as
rename it ***.ftf
I'm using IDM, and all format nothing change

hi friend your idea worked i tried downloading the files in internet explorer and flashed it.it really works.thank you so much.but now i have a problem.i had flashed the naa ics 04 kernel in my xperia x8.and i get boot to clockwork mod.but in clockwork mod when i tried to install custom zip and i clicked choose zip from sdcard.but,it continuously says that "E:can't mount/sdcard".so i tried the mounts and storage menu and when i clicked the mount/sdcard its continuously says "Error mounting sd card....".so i took the memory card out and formatted the sd card with the help of card reader and copied the custom roms and tried to install custom zip.but,it continuously says that "E:can't mount/sdcard".so i took the phone and reflashed it.and then i tried to install custom zip then also the same problem.now please help me friends from with this problem.

Hello . i wanna to put tweaks in my x8 but i got a prob. i'v done all except 4 things .
1st bravia engine. what should i copy to system. i should extract the zip and copy : be_movie be_photo
or i should do that and + install the zip from xrecovery in recovery mode install cuztom zip from sd card .
2nd i need guide too for xloud how to install and some link to download cyz the link i got from deposti files are broken .
3rd about build prop tweaks from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289539
i should put them on the top of build.prop or on the bottom lines ???? and should i type them all in terminal too with mnt /....... im not pro with this tweak things
and 4th are theese http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876663 for stock or for custom kernel .
any help would be nice

edit: also tell me how to get dual recovery . atm i got Free CMW last version . but to instll some stuff i m required to have xrecovery . i dont wanna meesup the busybox and chargemon so i need u r help . tytyty

[Q] Buil.prop flashable zip file

Hi everyone . i wantto make a build.porp flashabel zip file , i want to change a string on build.prop and i dont ahve any space for back up . so i want amke this flash it throw CWM . can anyone tell me how to do this ?
