Just use 7zip

I'm trying to do it from my phone, I have no computer
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium

All you have to do then is change the .mtz to .zip and then unzip it like normal using root explorer, es file manager, etc...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

Great question. Trick is.. no 7zip for OSX. What to do if using a Mac?
Unzipping sounds easy enough but what about rezipping back up into mtz?
Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

zipping is quit easy too, zip it to a .zip and rename it to .mtz? not so heavy?

Ok, say I want to change the icons in the mtz, the icons are in a file called "icon" without a file extension, how would I go about doing this?

Ok, I did everything that was suggested, and when I load the mtz it says theme does have the required resources. Any ideas?

[ICONS] ICS Icons (HDPI, MDPI & XHDPI)

Here is a zip of all the Icons extracted from the SDK dump, in three different sizes. XHDPI has some missing as they weren't available in the apps, I am not sure if these are different to honeycomb but I though I would post anyways.
Enjoy!
Can it be flashed?

No... He just extract the icons... So u can port those icons into a cm theme chooser and miui theme...
Sent from my Nexus One using MIUI 1.10.14 AND IT LOOKS LIKE ICS
No it can't be flashed, just a collection of PNG's. I am working on creating an ICS theme using the resources from the system dump, and part of that involved pulling out the icons so I thought I'd share them.
For anyone that is interested, the ICS blue is the following:
RGB - 63 / 155 / 191
HEX - 3f9bbf
Anybody has the app drawer icon(it isn't in the zip)?

Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium
Thanks Man
Tahnk you..I'll try it on my ray..
Thanks a lot!! I will use it decompressing the app apk, browsing through the carpets and replacing the corresponding .png. Then I zip, and rename with .apk extension.
Thanks for this, been looking for ICS icons since i chucked an ICS theme on MIUI. Using Go launcher too so pngs won't be a problem!

Hey guys, got any screenshot for this animation? glad to see all colour variant before installing. thanks.
You can see on you tube anyway
change only the main color.
I think that we can't do a screenshot of an animation.

Just download the file, extract the jpegs the first one with windows picture viewer or any viewer then tap and hold right arrow key. Now you can see an animation.

humm what ROM you are using? if flashable don't work, just extract the bootanimation.zip copy and replace the original one in \system\media, set permission to RW-R-R

ppermission setting is not needed in /system/media. just replacing and rebooting will work

You can replace graphics with ninjamorph from play store, but you'll need some resources for ldpi (extracted theme, or systemui/framework-res from other ldpi device) you can also use metamorph, which is easier and have pre-made themes

It's not exactly the same, as many files in apk are encrypted, and by decompiling you make those files accessible to edit

if you just decompile it, it won't work. if you want to edit something in framework (any xml file) you have to decompile it, and after you've done, compile it again. if you make any errors, it won't work
