Decided to get the xl...

So, after much thought I've decided to get the sensation xl on the 3 network here in the uk. Which comes with unlimited data!
Has anybody got any tips for me?.. Recommend apps etc?.
The phone is being delivered to me sometime today!

Download appbrain app, aswell as best apps to keep upto date with what's new. Also blackmart alpha is good.
Search the rooting method on these forums and patiently await custom roms as I am doing. Enjoy your handset!

I'm on 3 too! And I love the unlimited data without a fair usage policy =D
I'd recommend Tubemate. It's a YouTube video downloader for Android. It's not available on the market but they have an official website where you can get it from (beware of fake apps!)
You can download plenty of HD vids that look and sound amazing on this device. I know it isn't the best screen but I still think it is awesome =]

Thank for the info mate.
You would have thought with it being a 4.7 in screen the screen would hav been up there with the original sensation! I can't believe the screen gas been downgraded!
Also the loud speaker quality is a big fail! You would hav thought with being a big phone, you would get big sounds!!
HTC need some lessons in making there phones louder!

Count yaself lucky, i went for the Droid Razr, and to be honest im gutted, i wish id seen this phone before the Razr. The speaker quality is actually really good on the Razr though wanna swap?

I hope your enjoying you're sensation XL for me it has been already the best htc I've owned and battery life is perfect just to think what scripts may do to improve the already great battery life and new roms including ICS is well worth the wait!

I agree totally. I was apprehensive at first seeing as everyone criticized it's apparent "downgrade" from previous HTC devices, but I am more than satisfied. I have yet to find fault with it and even the limited memory capacity doesn't bother me in the slightest

[Q] Partition rezising

Hello everyone!
Is there a way to rezise the system partition to 2GB ant give the SD Card 2GB more space because 9GB is not very much space and my system volume everytime has 3,5GB of free space....

Actually i think there is. But only only one dev has the ability to do it. Were better waiting till we have full S-Off or atleast radio S-Off before anyone tackles this subject

It's just a modified hboot that tricks the device into thinking it's S-Off, it allows users to flash security protected partitions, but, the security flag is still switched on.

Ctrlpda is a windows phone 7 dev and I doubt this is anything more than an alternate home screen ui. Metro ui and launcher 7 offer a similar experience so don't see why.

The Titan and XL are identical phone ,just the casings are different, i think he put the Titan phone in XL housing and SXL phone in Titan housing because in that video you will see the phone screws beside the phone, that is my explication and i think it's a right explanation

100% fake. He juste changed the cases of htc titan and sensation xl. Juste look at his fingers when he press on home button. He press bethween the menu and back button.

Pls help, i got big problem

I have bricked my SXL . I was trying to install the htc one x custom ROM to my SXL, after then installation is done, it rebooted. And now phone only vibrates 4 or 5 times and nothing else, no led, nothing. Vibrating all the time, then taking battery out. Please, anyone can help me? I dont have varanty. And sry for my bad ENG.
MY SXL is S-off, hboot- unlocked, and rooted.

mobo to change.

Can the computer see it? Try ruu then if it is a no go change motherboard.

PC can't see it... i found in google one thing, Riff Jtag, it possible to unbrick with this thing ??

New battery won't charge over 88%

Since the oringinal sxl battery (1600mAh) is not enough for me and seems to die out on me quite quick, I've decided to buy a battery that is almost double the capacity (2400mAh)
The problem is that I've charged it for 15hours and indicates that it has done 88%.....and it won't seem to go anymore than than .......please if anyone encountered the same problem n managed to fix it let me know.

It is the same for my device. I bought a new original battery beacouse the original one was broken. Now the new one want To charge over 80%. How Can i solve this?

if it has another voltage than stock, look at the battery, then you cant do anything

I am working on LTX Kernel to provide support for all Custom Batteries out there, but things are not going to well right now, but this can be fixed

Recalibrating the battery should also be an option, as i don't have any of those batteries i can't really test things, as from i've seen right now, the drivers should adapt to the custom voltages, but i can't tell for sure, and calibrating is also not really good if the device can't carge to 100%, but you can always try

Do you wipe battery ?

Yes, i did it. I charged it for 10 hours, But nothing has happened.
