I have an hotmail account and i want to use activesync exchange to get push mail.
I tried with the LG stock email app, but it doesn't work very well, since it doesn't sync my inbox correctly and it has got a big delay in push mail (hours).
So i installed official Hotmail app from market and it works fine. I am a little disappointed though, because i can't change sound notification and i can't see emails older than one month!
So i looked around and i found two other third party apps that handle activesync, "Enanched Mail" and "Touchdown Exchange".
Did anybody try these apps? How do they work? Which one do you prefer or do you suggest?
Thanks
K9 mail support multiple push accounts.

K9-mail doesn't support exchange 2010 which is actually what hotmail uses for push mail.

Sort of off-topic, since you specifically mentioned two e-mail clients in the OP...
Tried the CM7 e-mail client? It's basic, but does the job, and unlike the LG e-mail client it works very well with ActiveSync. It can sync from 3 days to infinity.
If you want to try, download a recent CM7-version, extract the email.apk, delete your existing account in LG e-mail, uninstall LG email, and push the cm7 e-mail to system/app. Reboot and add your e-mail accounts.

Do you use/like GMail? Cos you could always put your POP3 info into GMail and read it from your GMail app.

Gmail uses labels /filters.
It takes a few minutes to understand but once you do it obliterates antiquated folder usage.
Id highly suggest sync your email via Gmail. You can have it send mail that looks as if it originates from your original mail account.
I wasnt crazy about it but now most emails come in are automatically labeled and filed without any work from my end.
New emails that need filing can be done easily. Deleting just as easy as anything else.
Plus Gmail has instant notification. No need to set up push or hourly checks.
Looks like the next CM update will be adding Luccys BetterBrowser enhancements. So I will use Steel until then....thanks.
I tried the gmail thing before. Looks like i will be giving it another go. Just sux that there isnt a good email app available.
I tried to configure my Galaxy Note to work with an Exchange server. The emails sync fine, but contacts and calendar do not show up at all on the phone. Anyone knows what I need to do to get my contacts and calendar to show up?
Thanks
Wow, deafening silence... lets ask it this way, did anyone manage to sync contacts and/or the S Planner with an Exchange server?
I would like to use the google account only for the Android Market and sync everything with the exchange server at work.
Works fine for me, syncing OTA with an exchange 2010 SP2 server. Email, contacts, calendar, and even tasks.
Works fine for me too...

Worked fine for a few weeks, but having the same problems. Doesn't sync anymore with exchange. Now using Moxier and it works great but I really mis the S Planner together with S Memo. Also the graphics of Moxier is very simple, but it works. Would be great if there was a solution for syncing well again. Strange though that it worked fine for about 2 weeks.
It's a problem that I had faced since I got my note since last Nov. It started with "IRM not supported" error after syncing fine with Exchange 2007. Read more from my thread in my signature (if I remembered putting there). If not, search with the words
"IRM not supported". I'm with LA1 now and still have problem, latest being missing emails. While waiting for new firmware, I'm relying on TouchDown for my emails.

For the record, i've even gotten my [email protected] account to work with exchange server
Set your username as your email address, and m.hotmail.com as the server.
Use the 'allow all certificates' setting.
Just in case someone searches for this thread later...
Official Microsoft application for multiple Hotmail account
https://market.android.com/details?...lt#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5ob3RtYWlsLlo3Il0.
Doesn't look like it is working with ICS. Does not show up in the market when I search from Galaxy Nexus. Any ideas?
I would love to use native client, and keep my built-in e-mail or 3rd party just for my work exchange server..
Thanks!
Hi!
Does anybody know if the note will get push in the original email client, like my sgs2?

What you mean with "push"? Original mail client always have pop3, imap and exchange protocols.

Email clients usually pull (sync) from the servers at intervalls set by the user.
Push gets the messages in realtime.

Yeah - it's ActiveSync. Just select Exchange and you will get push email if your server supports it.
Hi guys, I'm a noob so just jumping in on this thread with my question. I have stock 4.0.3 on my Note and while I love the native email app it doesn't seem to have push capabilities for my Gmail account. Someone mentioned using exchange-how should I do this? I let it do the automatic setup when I registered my email-should I do the manual setup instead?

1. Why use email app for gmail, when gmail app supports push?
2. If you need it anyway, it shouldn't be too hard to find on google (i hope) search for gmail and exchange

I don't particularly like the Gmail app. No reason why, I just prefer the style of the stock email app.
As for push, it works fine now. I just had to do a manual setup rather than the automatic setup.
Hi guys
Is anyone using mailwise for email? I use it because my work email forces encryption and I don't want that.
It accepts my account etc but it doesn't push any of my exchange email (2 accounts)
Cheers
Have used mail wise and it is nice, but nine is better.
The new gmail will push exchange mail. I'm using it.

is it syncing your sub-folders? I never could get it . . .
Yes
Try out cloud magic. Works pretty well with exchange.
