data connection gone??

OK I've been round wifi for awhile now so not sure when this started but I'm n a roaming/edge network and I don't get ne data connection anymore and have no idea why please anyone help?? Running cm 5.0.5.3 now came from baked goods 1.1

Try toggling airplane mod on and off. This help me once.

Thanks for the tip but tried it ten times didn't work for me. Tried full wipe and really flashing but still don't get it

Same issue here. I notice if I force it to Edge then Edge works, but no 3G after 5.0.5.3 and i flashed the EPE54B radio with the apps. I'm thinking it's the radio but i can't find the previous image to test it out...

I have the same issue after flash CM5.05.3 and radio EPE54B.
It can't use airplan mode to solve the problem, only reboot.
Does any sollution? Help !!

After trying a million things my sister tells me her mytocuh is having the same issue. I called T-Mobile and they don't know crap. It just now started working again for me almost a day later out of the blue.

Yea I still for nothing no edge or roams mg data just got calling network irk what it is so guess just deal with it. Closest city with 3g to me is 40mi lol

Sounds like a problems with T-Mobile and not the ROM. Make sure you have "Allot data connection while roaming" checked also or you'll never have data while roaming

yea bout the only reason left. yes i have allow data raoming on but get nothing. dont know if its radio kernel or cyan or what

[Q] Sudden loss of data connection?

I am quite baffled by this but it seems that my data connection is just gone somehow, I was watching TV and i looked and my little "H" symbol wasn't at the top nor an "E" and all i have is bars. My sister's phone (non-smartphone) has 3g still though. Could this be due to me doing something or should i just try flashing back to stock?
EDIT: I found out my problem, I guess I pressed data network mode by accident in the extended power menu.

If you have wifi you can flash a different modem

no access to wifi right now :|

If you have a pc you can mount to you can dl modern to pc then transfer

Do you think a new modem would really fix it though? I've been using this ROM for more than a month now and this has never happened before.

Did you call at&t to see if there are issues in your area?
Who knows if modern change will work, worth a shot

haven't called at&t yet, i'll try that.

Okay i got a hold of at&t and they told me there aren't any data outages in my area.

Normally I would say make sure your apn settings are right but if it was working and now it is not that does not make sense have you tried moving location

Haven't tried moving. Do I have to disable lagfix to flash a modem?

Hmmm, well the new modem didn't solve my problem. That sort of disappointed me, haha. But I really dont want to flash stock and the problem persist and feel like i wasted time and have to restore everything, even though i would most likely flash a new ROM which i kind of want to do anyways.

[Q] When I turn wifi off, Note does not connect to 3G or HSDPA

I have this strange problem, it even seems random.
After I turn wifi off, my Note does not connect to 3g anymore.
And I have to reboot the phone to get it working again.
Does anyone experience the same problem, or knows a sollution?
I rooted KK1 and flashed LA4 using Mobile Odin.

I've had this problem once, but it worked again after a reboot. Haven't experienced it again. It happened on KK5, but i flashed LA4 yesterday, so it's too early to tell if it will happen again.
It also happened on my Desire HD with MIUI and also while running CM7, so it might turn out to be a bug in Android.

I guess you had turned/switched off data network mode by pressing and holding the turn off button for two seconds.
Try and turn it off and see if it is the same symptom that you had before.

No, this is not the issue.

I manually set the APN settings for Telfort, removing MMS and setting it up for "internet" only.
Did a wifi on/off cycle, with a short interval and it seems to work.
Going to test with a longer interval. Not completely convinced yet.
Hope it's fixed.

On wifi for half an hour, turned it off and [email protected]#$% 3g does not connect anymore.
Maybe it's just Telfort. They don't have the Note listed on their website, but still.

My infuse 4g does this. I have to put it in airplane mode then back to get my data to reconnect. It did this stock and on serindipity 7. I couldn't find a fix either.

Annoying stuff! Cycling airplane mode does not work for me, only a full reboot.
But if you had the problem too, It could be that it's the network's (in my case Telfort's) problem.
Maybe I have to get my sim replaced, but I'm switching to T-Mobile in about a month.
So it's a bit of a pain.

I am currently using the infuse on o2 in Germany, but it did it on att in the states also. I can't wait to get my note. I am just waiting for it to be released on o2 over here. They have the black but I really want a white one.

Telfort used to be O2, it has been using KPN's network for a while now.
So it's probably not connected. Though it is a strange coincidence.
I'm off today, I think I'll walk by the Telfort store to ask for a new sim or something.
Maybe they'll have to flip a switch somewhere.

what i think is..i had dis problem too...
if minor tweaks dnt work...format yr phone..n if it still aint working
change your firmware...
still nt working den i would blame the network..!!

Yeah you're right, I have to troubleshoot properly. But it's such a pain
And I think I recall having this problem a few roms back as well.
I'm not sure because I was on wifi all the time.
But I have to wipe, I'll use titanium backup so it won't be such a hard blow
Man I'm going to pissed if it turns out to be the network

Thats a pain i was so tired of formating,..reformatting....coz many custom firmware have some error and new updates keep coming almost daily...and all ask to wipe for best experience..dat was when i finally decided to come bk to stock and stick to it...
yeah it doesnt hav those fancy colors and throbbing speed which a custom rom boosts about but...but hey everythin works flawlessly and i dnt have any tension of random reboots and alarm not ringing..or any smartphone related error to comeup...plus all my apps and schedule is there forever no reinstalling tension....enjoying my phone....

Okay, so I I did a full wipe and installed a deodexed rooted LA4.
I still have this issue.
Also tested on KK1 stock and still experienced this issue.
If it does this on KK1 and LA4 it's reason enough for me to believe it's the network.
I'll just wait for my T-Mobile plan to start. Meh.
edit: It seems to work just fine on CM9 :-/

Droid 4 and CM10.2 data issue

Is anyone else that's running CM10.2 on Droid 4 having data connection issues? Have you fixed them? If so, how? Does the code need to bake a while longer before data starts working?
I'm running CM 10.22010831-NIGHTLY-maserati
WIFI is working, but I can't get data to work otherwise. I did a factory reset and started fresh. I've tried flashing the ROM and gapps package multiple times. I wiped cache and Dalvik. I tried repairing permissions.
Any Ideas?

Tried that and still no love.
I think i need to update my baseband radio, but I can't find a more recent baseband version for the Droid 4.
I'm currently using CDMA_N_05.11.01P LTEDC_U_09.11.00.
Anyone have a link for a newer version or any idea how to get one?

Do u have the issue on stock rom slot? If so then take it back to stock with the latest utility floating around the forum. Check for system updates if there is one dl and install to make sure u have latest radio if problem persist then it's a Good possibility it's A coverage issue or hardware related problem..

Ok, here's where I'm at now.
I updated my stock rom. baseband is now at 5.25.00. Still won't work on CM10.2.
3g will work on my stock ROM, but not on CM.
I've screwed with the mobile network settings and I can't get any difference in results.
LTE works great with CM10.2, but as soon as I'm in 3g territory, I'm dead in the water. I can receive and place voice calls and I get text messages through the messaging app, but anything that requires an actual data connection, like google voice or the browser, it won't work.
Help!?

updated PRL, still no love.

In some versions i needed to add APN manually, then it would work. In earlier version i had the same problem that 3g would not work. Also problem with reception bars - it would always show like 1 bar or smth like this but would work just fine.

It already has several APNs set up. The one I have selected is: APN: vzwinternet, MCC:311, MNC:480. Most everything else isn't set.

Day 10: I've run out of water. The sea gulls... they mock me... with their wings... and beaks... and of course their raucous calls. They are scheming against me. My only friend is the lone shark that circles me constantly. He's attentive like that. A bit forward though. Keeps trying to kiss me. I tell him "NO KISSES FOR YOU! Not until the second date."

First off, thanks for the chuckle
Secondly, you're getting no data at all? Are you on Verizon? If so, do you have LTE in your area? My personal experience has been LTE data is working fine but 3G has been REAL spotty. I did see dhacker on twitter post a new razr build with some 3G tweaks he was testing. So that is being worked on and should filter down to us when it does get figured out.

3G was working fine on 10.1, but is nonexistent on 10.2. It actually acts like it wants to connect to a roaming tower if I switch it to GSM, but it can only see it and won't pass traffic.
I could just go back to 10.1 or run stock, but my pigheadedness, that's a word now, won't allow it.
On the brighter side, I am learning a great deal more about my phone that I had previously known.

The problem seemed to rectify itself around the nightly build on 9-15 or 9-16.

I know I'm a bit late, but I always do the * # * # 4636 # * # * in dialer and I turn off the radio, set the radio to cdma/lte and turn it back on, usually it isn't letting all those other antennas run and it seems to pick 4G LTE faster in my experience.

I think it's a CM10.2 issue...
Hi, my friend with a Galaxy S3 is having the exact same data retention issues we are having on our Droid 4's, which makes me think this is a bug in CM10.2 on various devices more than an issue with our phones. I can get LTE data when I have service, but find that once I loose service, even for a moment, the phone then never re-connects to LTE again and just sits there with white bars instead. Toggling data or airplane mode seems to usually trick it into reconnecting to LTE, but it is becoming annoying to have to constantly check and toggle around to get data back. I've tried every nightly and the M1 and have found the issue remains through the 11/19 build. I've installed the ROM into slot1, I'm not sure if overwriting the stock ROM and using the stock slot with CM10.2 helps matters at all, has anyone had any experience with using CM10.2 in the stock slot instead of Sot 1?

[Q] Unable to activate mobile data

Hi community,
I'm a long-time lurker but just until today had the need to join this great place and bother you with a question. I already used the search feature and even googled this problem, which didn't quite helped as I'm still clueless.
Last nite, I switched ROM on my Desire C after being a long time user of Revolution MOD (thanks to @russell664) because sudden reboots started to affect my pone almost daily.
So I went ahead and flashed MiniJBProject (thanks to @penguin449) following the right steps (clean flash), rebooting after install in order to get WiFi enabled and everything seemed to work well until this morning, when I went outside my house and noticed Mobile Data doesn't work. I tried re-flashing ROM, switching between NOPE (thanks to @me4488) and Prometheus (thanks to @nikhil16242) kernels and frequencies to no avail (my pone doesn't go beyond 750 MHz), cleared Dalvik cache, fixed permissions in CWM, nothing.
As I said, WiFi does work just fine but Mobile Data is just not sending/receiving, I'm able to move the slider ON/OFF but get same results.
Then I thought my pone didn't like this specific ROM so I then flashed Revolution JB (thanks to @addictz10) again through clean flash, rebooted to get WiFi, and so on. Nothing. Still the same.
I feel like probably the problem has to do with CM10, since I didn't experience this issues with any of the Revolution Series ROMS.
Any further info you might need to shed some light, please feel free to ask. I'd really appreciate any input.

By the way, I currently have Revolution JB in my pone.

I think you have to enter the apn settings for your carrier. Google for it. Go to settings, wireless and networks, mobile data, access point names, and enter your APN settings.

Most Roms will be able to use mobile data straight off the shelf if using a known, big carrier, for example T-Mobile, however if your using something more local, something not as well none, then you need to add the APN, if your on contract or PAYG with a different company that provides your network service, like TALKTALK uses vodafones, you need to add it otherwise it connects to vodafone, and uses vodafones APNs which, will not work.

sorry to revive this issue but im currently experiencing difficulties regarding the issue. my phone suffers the same problem stated above, i already tried the stated solution but nothing happened. no G, E, or H showing up when i switch the data connection on. even the button on the notification drawer seems to be useless. im currently on minicm10 w/ prometheus kernel. i hope you can help me with my problem. thanks in advance
