Do you made a clean flash? Wipe, stock firmware, kernel, rom? If you did, try wipe everything. If this also does not help, i think its the best to reflash the the whole rom as mentioned above!

That only happens when you are using TouchWiz4 (that modified version for SGS).
Uninstall that and get something diffferent, say a Nova Launcher or even ADW.

Im using launcher pro.
I already did a clean install before. If i will do it again it will be my 3rd time. Is upgrading to ics will help?

Has anyone found a complete fix for GIF issues in browser?

Basically there is a problem with gif images in 2.2.1 browser. Gif images dont play at all, unlike the browsers from 2.2 or even 2.1.
We had a thread about it before, but it died. We thought of a partial fix but it wasn't completely fixed because you would have to clear your level 2 memory every once in awhile for them to play again.

Well currently I don't really have time to flash to stock and restore, but I will try the libwebcore.so and other browser related files to see if it works.

Nope no luck :/ just like before it will work for awhile, then all the gif will freeze and only way of making it work again is clearing memory.

Tw Launcher

I have a problem lately and its getting worse. After using the internet for a little while and then exiting Samsung's Twlauncher always restarts... It very annoying but i could live with that.
A couple of days ago i installed Chaton and now everytime i send or recieve a message, launcher restarts and its becoming very annoying! I know its a memory problem but this never happened prior to installing Gingerbread.
Anyone having same problem? BTW i have stock firmware without any root or modification.
Thanks

I have the same problem as well. Everytime I exit from the browser my launcher will restart. I find it annoying as well. I'm using adw launcher. Got this problem after I updated to gingerbread.

what rom are you guys using? any custom kernels or lagfixes on this rom or previous one?
You could try Go Launcher EX, I liked it a lot.
Additionally, you could try using a root explorer and browse /dbdata/databases and erase the folders for the launcher you are using, sometimes this fixes problems with apps not working correctly.
Did you backed up your launcher with Titanium backup or similar and then restored data and app? This causes problems when restoring data and not just app.
I'm using the stock rom from bell. Switched to go launcher yesterday. Still have the same problem =(

Speeding up?

I'm running stock ICS rooted with Speed Mod. And day by day the phone seems to slow down. How to speed it up? Help please.
Sent from my GT-N7000
how did you install ICS?
Try in settings development option show processes and check which one are using your cpu. Then google on proces whats its related to, if you cant see immediately which app could be causing lagging.
Also, another possible cause, did you change governator?

Like baz said- see wich applications are running, and if they are some that you are not using- delete them. If they are system apps, you can remove them with System App Remover (needs root).

but Akilesh hasnt said he has no visible programs running. If thats the case, then install procedure probably was dirty, or kernel install was dirty. Or recovery from backup lol.
Also use newest versions

I'm on newest 4.0.4 with no much programs installed. Also what does a clean install mean? And i always stick to the stock governor.

Try using latest version of Notecore V14 my note even with using criskelo's rom its running alot faster. If your on stock rom you will need to download PC Odin and flash the odin version you will use triangle away to reset the flash counter.

If your on custom rom dont use appzorter they are in conflict with each other. To organize your apps in custom rom use its own setting, you dont need appzorter. Appzorter is an app for stock rom.
Just took appzorter off rebooted phone and now I'm missing apps.....it is strange!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Check if the apps were hidden by the launcher
Yep no hidden apps...when I use the stock launcher to organise the apps some disappear put when I use appzorter the missing apps appear again...weird...

[Q] Experiencing random reboots w/ Semaphore kernel?

I've been running on stock CM10.1 since it was released. But, then, I wanted to try Semaphore. Alas, every time I flash it, after less then 3-4 hours, my SGS starts rebooting. I've tried it on like 10 or 12 different nightlies, starting from January. Any idea what's causing this? Any suggestions?
My specs are: SGS i9000, iNand version, CM10.1 latest nightly.
I must mention that i've even tried leaving Semaphore untouched after flashing, as in not changing any of the default settings. Sill, the same.
I hope you guys can help me out here. Thanks a lot!
I had same Problem only a full wipe solved it . Internal and external SD completly wiped.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Do a full wipe and cache and dalvik try then if not check semaphore settings with manager maybe some weird overclock settings
Already did full wipes w/ fresh install of CM10.1
As for Sema manager, I never did any OC on it.
Maybe your using the wrong kernel version check if your using the right one. S or no s version?

I used the non-S version, that's the one for CM10.1, isn't it?
This is bugging the hell outta me. I've tried 11 nightlies, including the M2 CM10.1. All the same, after no more than a few hours, the random rebooting starts.
Any other ideas?
@PB I've been experiencing the exact same issue with Semaphore for months.
I'm on a different variant (Vibrant), but the outcome is the same.
At this point, I've sort of given up & am chalking it up to something in the kernel (bigmem?) is incompatible with my particular device (kind of like how some phones can OC & remain stable while others of the exact same model cannot).
Did you ever figure out how to get it to play nice on yours? :fingers-crossed:
