It’s not a major update to Android 4.0 as its expected by everyone but it’s a minor update so called schedule update. OTA update is always appreciated since these days and in most cases it provides features and enhancements to smartphones along with fixing bugs.

So i downgraded my device from this firmware - N7000OXALA4 Germany ( recently both a new one) to N7000XXKJ4_N7000XENKJ2_N7000XXKJ4 just for the rooting functionality.. and run the OTA from 2.35 to 2.3.6 buildnr. XXKKA / N7000XXKK5
Last but not the least; Samsung has modified Android OS in accordance to add numbers while using the keyboard on Galaxy Note. Galaxy Note being a large size Android phone, it has ample space left and thereby with this update you will see number keys on the top of the letter keys.
With this rom N7000OXALA4 Germany after OTA i do have the numbers on top.
But with the current, XXKJ4 Dutch, OTA did not make the change for my keyboard, ( i did look into keyboard settings after flash ) all other improvements are there, i like this keyboard, so my question how to get it in the current installation? 2.3.6 buildnr. XXKKA / N7000XXKK5
Do you have this problem seen before? please tell me and i like to stay on this version, but if there is no other way...
Flashed several times and even older firmware to see how the OTA make improvement, it worked on the 3 other go but it seems not give me the keyboard with this rom? Help

Hey there,
Now I am also a proud owner of a Galaxy Note
Just one little question:
I am pretty sure, that I will root this device - like i did with all my android devices. But I would like to wait a couple of weeks, to be sure that this device working fine so far, you know, warranty etc...
I am currently running the 2.3.5 firmware and there is an update avaliable (i believe it's 2.3.6) - Am I able to root my device even after updating?
There are some HTC devices, which are not rootable with the latest stock firmware - that's why I'm asking
I appreciate any help
Hi,
I am currently contemplating whether or not to replace the stock manufacter's firmware with a custom ROM on my Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
I have recently helped a friend to do the same with his Samsung Galaxy Ace and we successfully installed Cyanogen v7, which is based on Gingerbread 2.3.7.
However, there is a key issue with this firmware that has put me off going down the same route with my own phone. Unfortunately, the OS forces you to display your numbers in the traditional American format (XXX-XXX-XXXX). For me as a UK user, this just isnt' practical and has already caused some recognition issues with other apps on the galaxy ace.
I was wondering if this issue has been fixed in v10 of CM, or I was also looking at installing Helly Bean, if not, is anyone aware of some custom firmware that is friendly to UK users and offers the same features as CM?
Please folks, someone must know something on this subject? Surely all the custom ROMs out there can't be completely America-Centric???!
I appear to have made a mistake upgrading the standard firmware as the 2.3.7 release samsung have given me to upgrade my phone is the worse version of android I've used to date!
I have hellybean and it does not in fact I have never come across a ROM that does that I would personally tell your friend he should try another rom

I'm trying to decide whether to update my current ROM (which seems a bit involved, since apparently I have to update the baseband FIRST!), or switch to a different custom ROM. If the former, I need instructions (tutorials, preferably). If the latter, I need help deciding which other ROM to choose, and how to switch.
Current setup:
Hardware - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 - Model: N910T
Android version - 5.1.1 (Lollipop)
Baseband version - N910TUVU1COD6
Kernel version - 3.10.40-Emotion-nightly-alpha-r22
Build number - Maximum_OvrDriVE_v3.9
Security software version
MDF v2.0 Release 1
VPN v1.4 Release 5.2Launcher - Nova Launcher Prime 4.3.1
If a new ROM is what I need, then the following is what I want from it:
- Nougat, or Marshmallow w/later Nougat upgrade option
- Most, if not all S pen-specific and Note 4/5-specific features available in stock configurations, but with root access
- Stability. I don't want to be getting spontaneous reboots multiple times a day, unless it's from heavy use
- Ability to use the xposed framework (to hide root from root-blocked apps)
- A ROM that is going to continue being developed for the Note 4, for (hopefully) at least another year
The most important things are the s-pen and Note-specific features, and access to the xposed framework.
Also, I need to know what all I need, either to update my current ROM or to switch to a new one, including as detailed instructions as I can get. For example, do I need to reinstall a stock ROM, in order to be able to update the baseband, or is there a way to update it without reverting to stock or unrooting?
I have a 920G running stock 7.0 with the August 2018 security patch and have faced intermittent digitizer issues since the 7.0 update. As reported by others, the screen sometimes refuses to recognize finger touches, which is easily fixed by running a TSP FW update from the service menu.
I was wondering if this is purely a SW issue related to the stock Nougat upgrade or if it appears on custom ROMS (Dr. Ketan, Khongloi) as well? I will strongly consider ditching Samsung Pay and moving to a custom ROM if the issue is confined to stock ROMs.
Thanks!
Hello all support
I have samsung note 9 , I live in Libya, when I get one UI 2.5?
I need it urgently.
Best Regards
If it is, try to flash the newest firmware through Odin
You should be receiving the OneUI 2.5 OS update soon. Try running the OTA update feature in the Settings menu of your device.
