I have a problem , the company where i work does not allow camera phones.
I have a Galaxy S Plus 2.3.3 ginger
I have the option of removing ( fizicaly ) my camera from the phone but i would not like to do that.
My question is , can this be done through software in a way that when the application for the camera starts it would simply give an error mesage ( doesnt realy matter what error as long as the person checking sees that the camera wont start ( hiding the app wont help )
So i turn to you guys and girls of this forum for a fix ( if there is any )

If you have root you can delete camera (as a system app) and your phone will be unable to take photos.
unfortunately that would only make the person search for the camera app more suspicious

There is an app called applocker I think on the market what will show a false error when u attempt to use a program on the phone. I'm looking for a link on the program. It was from alpha dog or something. Seems like it would be perfect for yiu

Cant belive it was so easy )) ( was thinking of rooting the phone , then removing the camera app , then replacing it with one that was somehow corrupt so it would give that error ) )

I go fishing alot , and I noticed my phone (xdaIIi) does not have a
delayed capture option .
I hope you know what i mean , where you can set the camera up and
it will take a pic after 10secs ..
Is this possible with my phone ?

I tried port Phone.apk/Phone.apk (from SGS3) to my gc but it cannot work.
Cuz the Phone.apk/Phone.apk that i tried porting was from SHW-M440S(SGS3 South Korean 3g ver) may be..
Anyway i just know the way you enter the phone!
Just install Launche pro frome playstore
Then you can enter into phone by using Launcher Pro (if you install it, then L.P makes Short cut of Phone and we can access the Dialer)
That is all just i know....now....

And the interesting Thing i found is 'if you put in the Phone.apk/Phone.odex from SGS3
[in fact The Phone.apk/Phone.odex was Phone_KOR.apk/Phone_KOR.odex, cuz the system dump which i used was from SGS3 Korean 3G ver(SHW-M440S Android ver4.1,2) ]
Anyway... 'if you put in the Phone.apk/Phone.odex from SGS3 than GC doesn't show the popup message 'Voice Calling not supported' more,
and you input the number&click the Call button, then the Phone app is seems like freezing status and automatically exit'
So i think it can just fix phone.apk problem but cannot fix the framework related things.
That is all i know from Just Copy Phone.apk/Phone.odex from SGS3 to My GC

Im looking for working photosphere too, I´m on CM 11 and I tried many ZIP (installed in CWM) and APKs and no success (instalation worked fine but photoshpere doesnt work) ... thank you

I've read that changing your build.prop from true to false on being a low end device opens more options, but the app is reported to be buggy and crashes...

YES it works !! :good: now I have the photosphere working. The only problem is I cant run the SETTINGS ... anyone knows if there is another way to enable high quality in the settings without enter the settings ? thank you very much
UPDATE: I foud the GoogleCamera_preferences.xml where you can change the quality to MAX (instead of "HQ") but the photosphere result is not OK and the image is little corrupted .. the phone is too slow to use the new photoshpere probably ...)
It seems the time to new phone has come LG G2 or Nexus 5 ... thats the question

I've had both the G2 and the Nexus 5. I kept the Nexus 5 and returned the G2.

i'm using Acdisplay and sometimes the screen get frozen and when i press the volume key it works and i can adjust it then when its gone i can use the screen but not much just small touche space and eventually i have to restart the whole phone to fix the problem
i love this rom and don't want to go back to stock (( help please )
which services from google services are safe to stop
google play services has 144 services and i believe most of them are just for spy reasons only ( or something i don't really need in the first place) draining out my battery which services are safe to disable and which are not )

Problem with my note 5 (SM-N920T 5.1.1) that I cant seem to figure out... It all started with S note. I wanted to download the extension pack to be able to transpose notes into text. Hit more in the upper corner, more features, then extension pack. but for some reason when i hit the "extension pack" option it just flashes grey at me... every option on that screen actually. Of course scoured the internet and nothing but how tos and videos outlining those steps.
Now i said F-it as I unfortunately am one of the poor souls that fell victim to the penGate Scandal. I assumed it was something to do with the broken s-pen detection (my Spen itself is fully intact), finished my beer and went to bed.
couple days later I was at the t-mo store checking out the gear S2. Got it paired with my note 5 and wanted to see what the app selection was like. Got the prompt to download apps from my phone through the Sgear app... went to the app and the download applications link does the same thing!!!
Tried all the basics... restart phone, check unknown apps, anything I could think of... No luck.
Any ideas??? I cant seem to select options to download Samsung or OEM approved downloads...

Firstly ,to download from ( as you put it) "Samsung or OEM approved downloads..." you have to register your device ,re "Samsung Account" and also sign into Samsung apps store ... etc ..? , to download ( Same procedure, as if you want to download from eg . Google Play store ?)
You did not mentioned this in your post above ..?

you do not state if your device is rooted or stock Rom ..etc ? Reason why ,is ,
if its a bug in Rom ,how about/the possibility of re flashing your correct stock Rom ..to see if its fixes issue ?

hi, just on a side note, Lux" broke "my app installs, on my Note 4 and Note5. Unknowingly, spend hours trying to figure out, why i could not sideload an app.. Yes then i found Lux was the culprit.!
I am using Velis for quite some time now. Have not found any issues so far with Velis. Yes, i agree Lux can also cause issues..

Stock firmware, no rom. Not rooted yet.
OK it was not having the Samsung Galaxy apps application installed on my phone. Samsung acct was linked but not having the physical Galaxy apps app was causing this. I Apparently some providers like tmo us Remove some factory installed apps. I had a hell of a time finding it to download, here is the link in case anyone wants it for usa

Would of been nice to receive a pop up or notification to install this to be able to use the Extra functionality... No idea why this essential app was removed. Corporate bs if you ask me.
