Custom status bar & ICS theme/ROM - HTC Sensation XL

Hello XDA! I have been looking all around the internet and Marketplace for a good, stable bug-free custom Status Bar but I couldn't find any. Also I would love to know if there is a stable ICS ROM that I could use for my XL (other than the ADW theme that I'm using right now)
Thanks for your help!

[Request] White Eclair Status bar/icons for 2.1 ROM

Hey, I was wondering if it is possible to get a signed-update.zip or even a metamorph version to port the white-eclair status bar to one of the new SenseUI 2.1 ports? (Villian, aHero, etc.)
Just what I'm looking for... Is amazing if someone can do that...
Thanks in advance

If you go to that link. Download the deodexed chinese MIUI rom. flash that and then flash the english pack. You essentially get stock MIUI everytime it's released from there.
I am really not sure what the ROM dev's add adn I just started using MIUI today but decided I wanted vanilla MIUI.
The 'vanilla' MIUI ROM can be downloaded from miui.com, but it's odexed ROM(like 'stock' Android firmware). Most of language packs are made from deodexed ROM.
**The deodexed ROM does not have anything added from odexed ROM; no tweaks. However, language pack or translated ROMs can add some tweaks, delete unnecessary applications(like TelocationProvider.apk, which is not needed outside of China).
The answer lies within you. Try them all and find which one YOU like best.
MIUI is really attractive for its deeper-customized UI. But in China, a lot of people still choose the original rom from XDA like CM or AOSP. I think they just not need the original style of Android but not the IPhone style's UI. I think it depends on the hobby of every buddy. just see want to you want.
So far I'm running the vanilla MIUI ROM and I ended up loading adw launcher ex because I didn't like not having an app drawer. It runs hella smooth and I like the MIUI contacts/phone apps, the built-in back-up functionality, and the power-widgets in notification bars (without a 6-item limit).
There's also a vanilla AOSP theme theme for adw so you don't have those iOS-esque icons if you don't like them.

Is there a way to port theme chooser to our phones?

Wait for a stable CM 7 port with the required framework.
Else you can switch to the early MIUI rom like me.
Except for a glitchy camera and non working GPS and FM radio, its pretty stable for daily use and CM7 has got nothing on MIUI theming imo.

ok thanks... i will try the MIUI rom... and i really hope that the DEVS can make this MIUI rom with fully functional features on it. the GUI kinda nice.
You can install different launcher instead. But yeah, I'm also w8ing for MIUI. It's preety good, but some funktions still unstable.
Install a different launcher and you can choose the themes that come along with it.
I am currently using GO Launcher EX. There are quite a few themes to choose from there..

bt porting themes directly for stock launcher is more cool

[Q] CyanogenMod 7 vs Stock Android 2.1

Hello
I am relatively new to this forum but I have a question anyway. Which is better CyanogenMod 7 or the stock Android 2.1-Update1 on the X8 (E15i)?
Also what are the main differences between CM7 and stock Android 2.1 (e.g. is CM7 faster...)?
And finally can someone provide a link to the best CyanogenMod 7, by best I mean most stable and good features.
Thanks in advance.

Stock Android 2.1 is Eclair.
CM7 or Cyanogen 7 is Gingerbread i.e 2.3
The difference between Eclair and Gingerbread is HUGE !!
Many apps require Android 2.2+ like Voice Search etc , and CM7 serves the purpose.
Thanks to devs like doixanh & HAKA , we got excellent CM7 based ROMS which have functionalities like app2sd , custom animations , acceleration rotation settings , back button for ending calls , notification power widgets , center clock options , change the style of battery icon , signal display , render effects , screen-shots ,a variety of in-built screen-locks , boot animation disable , status bar slide brightness control , bottom status bar and lots more....
To be honest , if you need an absolutely bugless ROM , stay on stock.
If you don't care about the very very minor irrelevant bugs (which have no impact on the working of the phone) , then go for CM7
These are the two most famous Cyanogen 7 based ROMS -->

The links I gave you will require your phone to be rooted. It doesn't matter where you live.
Here is a guide to help you.

There should be no problems at all. I used almost every ROM on this forum , and to be honest , I do not remember any network problems on them
Thanks for the help guys; really appreciate it.
With the information provided I think I am ready to upgrade (very) soon.

This is a funny question my friend Every Android-Phone/Tablet that has official support for GB needs hardware buttons. With the release of Honeycomb the "Navbar" was invented. This was mainly for "asthetical" reasons because of more slimmed down design of the devices i think.
And now tell me, why do you want to have a navbar on a device that high likely has hardware buttons? I think it's a waste of space...
Are you good at compiling your own roms? I found a port of the navbar for GB, but you have to put it in and compile yourself. PM me if you want to have that patch. Except of this, i have never seen a gingerbread with softbuttons.
Cheers
