Hey guys my problem occurs when i try to download sth. from market with wi-fi it stucks on downloading but nothing happens, enters in an infinite loop. However market allows to download anything with 3g so i don't think it's cause of rom or kernel because i tried lot of 'em but it can be by wi-fi dns settings because when i flashed a new rom and my wi-fi settings resetted then problem started to occur before than it was okay.
Could you do a simple test by verifying IF your internet works at all?
If you have opened market via 3g, part of it is in cache so you can actually see part of it which you visited earlier...
Just try to go to random webpage, which you have NOT visited before.
I had the same problem. The friendly support-team from Draytek (my router) found the solution:
In the router settings I changed the DNS-server.
It's now 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
and all of a sudden it's working again !
try it out - may be it's working for you, too.

Try to clear Play Store data and cache. This problem is very common when flashing a new rom. It should work after that.

I just finally got sick of waiting for an official Froyo(Bell isn't about to give me an upgrade anyhow.) So I went to a froyo rom that was based on one of the stock roms. But I figured since I'm rooted anyhow why not play around, and grabbed cyanogen 6.1 and installed it. Then I end up with the issue of its not connecting to my wifi, I have no issues on the stock 2.2 roms. One thing I have noticed is the cyanogen shows the network as wep, but it's actually wpa encrypted. I flashed into it from the stock without clearing it first and it worked until I shut off and came back to it. Any ideas on what might be the issue. I'm fairly new but I did look and couldn't find anything to fix this.
I assume you flashed 6.1 stable version? I have no issue whatsoever on my device (and I also used official froyo previously). Did you wipe all before flashing 6.1?
He said he "flashed without cleaning"...so I presume no wipe. This could be the problem, a wipe is strongly adviced if going to CM from a non CM ROM. Also check the number of WiFi channels set by default in advanced settings of wifi. It is set for 11 and if the router is set to 13 or 14 it could not work

I had the same problem when i was installing CM6.1. (with wipe)
The phone could just se a wep version of my network and not the wpa that i have. But after i turned on and off the wifi a couple of times i suddenly saw the wpa version of my network and after i connected to that the problem was solved. I also did click "forget network" on the wep version.
Hope this will help you

Trying this now but no go. Sometimes will flash it as wpa and then jump back to wep. This is after a full wipe. What I was trying to say was once I flashed in without wiping and it worked for a bit but jumped right back to not working, after the phone going to sleep.
Bump.
Any insight into this issue? Still only reading my network as wep.
Try installing "WiFi Advanced Configration Editor" from the market. You should be able to change to WPA manually with it.
Did you try to reset your wifi router?sometimes the issues came up from wifi router, not the phone itself.
Mine is fine. I share my broadband wifi to my phone using connectify.
The only problem remains is wifi disconnect frequently, but I heard that it's due to a new kernel which I use (.32 kernel)
hope it helps
Ya reset the router a few times, and it still came up like that. I did install the wifi advance config software mentioned it seemed to fix it. I didn't actually set anything up on it and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks.
CM 6.1 messed up my wifi. Wiped everything, but it suddenly doesn't find my networks.
Wiped again and restored nandroid backup of working rom but STILL the same issue now!! Can I flash the wifi drivers again somehow?
I'm on CM dal .32 test build 3.1
Today I tried setting up a VPN but failed. The screen became frozen and I decided to reboot my Nook Color. However, after rebooting my wifi is no longer working. It says "connecting" but then "disconnected" Scan option didn't show any network.
Anyone can help me?
CM7.0.3 with Nook Color no longer works
Hi,
I've run into the same issue with my nook color. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the kernel or the physical device. I know that this is not a router issue since I'm able to connect other machines to my router. Also, I no longer see any other hotspots with the Nook.
I tried some suggestions that I've found on other websites, which include
Shutdown Tablet and start again
Re-install Google Apps
Use Fix Permissions in Rom Manager
None of these work. Any suggestions or is this a known bug?

Same here, I was using nightly 115 with Dalingrin's 6/18 OC kernel when the problem started. I've since rebooted multiple times, fixed permission both from CWM and in Rom Manager, flashed nightly 117 without flashing OC kernel, and still haven't solved the problem.
Wifi just stays "Connecting" and then changed to "Disconnected" briefly and go back to "Connecting" again.
Just reflash your ROM or the latest ROM and DON'T mess with any OC kernels.
Does it work? If so, try the OC kernel again. If it fails, let Dal know in his OC kernel thread, and just re-flash your ROM again to return to the stock kernel. Wipe cache/dalvik as necessary, but don't wipe data and you're not going to lose anything.
One suggestion I have is if you're using AES on your router, try changing from WPA2 to WPA or changing WPA AES (or AES+TKIP) to just WPA TKIP and see if that fixes the problem.
There's a long standing issue with some routers regarding AES in Android, and apparently some laptops also had this issue on older kernels.
Flashing to the latest rom without messing with the kernel was the first thing I tried (other than turning wifi on and off multiple times). It didn't work.
What eventually worked was when I wiped data and factory reset it. Some how that fixed the wifi.
The strange thing is I had just recently factory re-setted coming from an old (pre 2.6.32) nightly a couple of days ago, and had not gotten around to installing much, and I did not restore from backup. i.e. the only thing installed when the wifi problem suddenly appeared were the google apps, Aldiko, QuickPic, Rom Manager, MoboPlayer, and a few ADW themes. None of which sound like they should do anything that messes up the wifi.
I doubt it has anything to do with the router, because I tried connecting it to my router (tkip), hotspot from my android phone (unlocked) and hotspot from my iphone (unlocked). My phone just did not see any network around at all, not even the 5-6 different network from other people in the building.
As mentioned, I have factory wiped my NC and all is fine again now, so I'm not too concerned right now, just curious what could have caused the problem.
Hey, I've got a problem after a fresh install of GDX 028b.
My WiFi simply won't connect. It sees the avaliable networks, but when I try to connect to my router it stucks at connecting, at disconnects, then goes back to scanning, doing this cycle forever.
I have an Alfs v08 and GDX v028b, and I've installed the GingerDX Alfs Kernel AddOn v007 as well.
What can cause this problem?
Things I've already done:
-deteled the remembered networks
-completely wiped everything, reinstalled rom, kernel
There's a kind of fix Swift did with titanium. it worked for me even on v28. You may want to search that.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately this did not work.
Sorry, but I have to bump this.
One last update, I've obviously tried to connect to more networks, some open, some closed, but I still couldn't manage to connect.

I had the same pribleme before i used this rom

thanks please :good:
Still cannot connect. Tried out several other roms, all of them are working fine, but not this. However, this is the best rom out there in my opinion. What to do?
So I had some escapades today, I had my SGS running jellybean, then I tried to change the screen density and bang, bootloop. I panicked and after some odin fiddling managed to get it booting Darky using odin. I was in a room with no signal at the time so I thought nothing of not having any signal, even so I then went ahead and used recovery to reinstall my Jellybean rom since that's a bit nicer than the 2.3 Darky.
Long and the short of it is, I can search for networks in my options and it will find them, but when I tell it to connect to one it says "Can't connect to this network right now. Try again later"
I have tried later and surprise surprise it didn't work. I have tried installing a different radio, clearing the dvalik cache and fixing permissions as well as a few other things. Please can anyone suggest something, this seems to be a very uncommon scenario and it's stressing me out that I can't find any solutions.

Yeah I've checked them and unfortunately they all seem to be in order still, though there are a lot more settings than any website offers things to put in them
same problem
i am having this same problem on all cyanogenmod 7,9,10. i have tried many radio and modem flashes. i can scan and see networks, but i can never connect to them.
have you made any progress?
Problem is EFS folder which tends to do with IMEI.
To fix it you need to copy the backup EFS folder from your SDCARD to the root of your device. (/)
If you don't have a backup you'll have to ODIN back to stock and re-root....etcetera

thank you for the response. I put it back to stock lastnight before bed so i will give this a try.
i have the gti9000m from bell in canada. I updated it through kies to 2.3.3 gingerbread and it all went badly. It would boot up and load to the os be on for a bit then reset. It turned out to be wifi problem, running it on airplane mode stopped it from rebooting. Then if i tried to turn on wifi it would quickly reboot.
So then i tired all the cyanogenmods, which worked it stopped rebooting all the time. however the wifi would connect and work for about a minute then it would drop. doing the
1.turnOn gps
2.turnOn wifi
3. turnOff gps
this would let the wifi work again for about a minute. I tried all the wifi fixer apk, and a bunch of wifi.zip mods, and then ping the router gateway constantly, none solved this problem. Very annoying because i need the wifi working for develpoment of apps. I have spent a great many hours on this problem. lots of people seam to have this problem but no solutions have wokred for me.
So, my questions are....
1. does your wifi work?
2. how the heck do i get mine to work?
back to stock
After going back to stock then upgrading connecting to network operators is fine.
wifi is still broken though
Hi. So, I just got a Samsung S3 GT-I9305 from Vodacom. Got it from eBay. But, I'm having trouble connecting to the wifi. Whenever I connect to the wifi it always says "Authentication error occurred". I turned off the wifi thingy using *#0011# and wiped the cache, I even reset the phone to its factory settings. I sometimes connect to a wifi, but it takes 1 hour or so before being connected. And I have trouble downloading from the playstore. Did everything I could find from the web. No luck.
So, I was thinking, If I would flash a custom rom to my device, will it fix the wifi issue? And would any stock firmware of the I9305 device work?
Thanks! Sorry for being noob.

Hi,
I think it could be a router issue. You should :
- reset your router and retry to connect with your i9305,
- play with WIFI network settings in router. Maybe something doesn't allow your i9305 connection (network type, firewall, etc.). I'm not an expert in router settings, so you could google this to help you.
- try another WIFI network (from a friend, at work, anywhere you can test )
I think that flashing a custom ROM won't change anything. First try to fix your problem with stock firmware.
