Hey guys
I have OCed the CPU to 1.2 and I know its not as far as I can go. But isn't it risky to go up as much as like 1.7? Or more?! Wouldn't it shorten the phones life if not any sudden damage?

Yeah I would stay at 1.2 because anything over 1.3 you run the risk of overheating and damaging the CPU although I've read it's quite hard to damage it you would get lots of Ron reboots.
I've ran at 1.9 for hours before it does nothing, the phone will shut itself off before allowing you to damage the cpu. Currently at 1.6 for games such as minecraft and music player simultaneously.

Running at 1.5 here, and no issues.
The most stable I can do with my IS is just around 1.4. Anything over than that and my phones becomes unstable.
i had mine at 1.4 no problems, is it really necessary to go any higher though?
All the apps n games run great at 1.2 ghz I don't think setting the CPU more than that would be necessary.

i overclock till 1.4 and used performance
Even at 1.2 my phone was unstable at times, so it varies a lot.
I now just stick with stock speed.
I'm at Max 1497MHz, Min 192MHz, with SmartassV2 governor. virtually no problems. sometimes my phone restarts or freezes but it's like once every 2 months and at that point, it's probably not from OC
Well I guess it really depends on the way and how much u use ur phone. I'm going for 1.3

I have clockworkmod recovery flashed, trinity xl v2.5 flashed (with the unity v10 by mdj kernel included).
Mine is hboot 1.16 s-on bootunlocked.
So heres the question: After flashing the rom, does this means my phone is overclocked/underclocked? (according to the mdj kernel).
There is a difference on the available ram. I've check my cpu frequecy at quadrant standard and it says max:2ghz min: 128mhz. But in antutu benchmark, it show the stock cpu frequency for incs :/
Did you try with SetCPU or No Frills, even Android Overclock should work.
Try to flash Lord's or Rcmix 11.1 kernel if issue persists.
Well I think this is the problem for hboot 1.16 s-on. But i'm pretty sure its overclock and underclock. When I was at my stock rom, available ram was like 200mb+
Now its 300mb+

Then you have just to wait for revolutionary, because HBoot controls such settings as overclock and underclock/undervolt etc.
hey i wanted to know:
what is a good stable high performable overclock frequency for power/3d games??
Currently I have: HTC Incredible S rooted with runnydr0id 2.1 rom (android 2.3.5)
i have it overclocked to 1.3 ghz max. with setCPU
is this good ? do i need more?
mine is on 1.4ghz via CM7 settings. i think im using the brazilian wax governor from lord clockan kernel. 100% stable, havent had any reboots of slowdowns and the phone is incredible-y ( ;] ) quick all round.

I'm using Tiamat on my phone as well.
For 2.3 GB, I found the best kernel was enki v0. For 4.0, the recently released tiamat kernel is the best. At least IMO
I didn't really have too much difference between enki and tiamat. But I stuck with tiamat due to the increase in call hearing as before is sounded too dull

Smartass v2 never worked on my phone with tiamet - I could never receive phone calls when using it. I switched to Lord Clockan's and I'm getting better battery life, and it works properly.
As I understand it, there's no 'best' kernel. It all depends on your phone, ROM and usage. It's best just to try them all out and see.
Is it possible to flash every kernel on any roms?

No, some are ROM specific, for example will only work with Sense ROMs.
Lord Clockan v1

I'm using the exact same config as you OP (Unity X10 I'm assuming, with ICD HD theme). While I'm here, is there any better kernels anyone suggests for Virtuous Affinity? I've been having some touch screen response issues (where a long press sometimes doesn't register which can be quite annoying typing).
Haven't had any issues with the lockscreen though.

I'm using this rom. Plus UltraSmoothRosie . I've disabled about 30% of all system apks also (facebook, twitter, genie, HTC likes and etc.).
No problems, stable, very fast. A lot of RAM + CPU 1.2 ghz. Battery is 50% to the end of the day (i don't know how you should use this rom to drain all battery in one day. ).
I suddenly wanted to try Nik's ROM with 3.5 sense... Maybe I should give it a try.

it would be great, if there is a rom (ICS Theme) with Sense! Sense is (in my mind) the most important. (Facebook Contact Sync etc.)
Im using IceColdSandwich 5.1 with the shipped CM9 Kernel, havent touched the radio once tho.
Working nice except the softkey backlight seems to come and go as it pleases.

So the title says it all. How did you tweak up your IncS? And what custom or stock Rom your tweaking.

That sounds dirty
Yup. Flash a custom rom. Overclocking CPU is not recommended.
