i have'nt been having screen banding but i do have some pixels in some shadow regions in games and in some UI elements! but when i use a vibrant picture its perfect
its not a big problem but i was wondering if this can be fixed or will be fixed with ICS
Note: To any who used CM9 ICS rom Did you notice such issues?
No I haven't noticed it.
Is GPU rendering enabled?

CM9 build drivers are not complete yet. still there are many bugs in GPU driver too. you should wait for a ICS leak from Samsung.

Has anyone figured out how to adjust the screen colors under ICS yet? I used to use Chainfire3D's Nightmode to adjust the colors in GB, but that no longer works in ICS.
And before anyone asks "why?", I am a photographer and I view my photos on my TP. By default the colors are way off (~7200k white point).
Chainfire3D allowed me to adjust the colors where they were relatively close to 6500k across the board.
On my Epic 4g I use Voodoo Color, which is obviously for Galaxy S series devices only.
Maybe something like this could be ported?
Woohoo, I can confirm that Night Mode is working again under 4.0.4 and I am quite happy to have a color calibrated Touchpad again!
The only problem is that it also applies the adjustments to the recents thumbnails, thus doubling the correction (this would also be true for any screenshots).
Hi all,
I have a weird issue and am wondering if anyone else has this there is a fix or is it just me who has this issue?
I have a White N7000 Note and I LOVE IT but for some reason the color BLACK does not render properly on my LOCK SCREEN ONLY... Let me explain...
On my home screens, black is nice and black and is "solid" ie: no color banding, etc... In apps, the color black is "solid" ie: no color banding BUT... On my lock screen, I tried to set a full black wallpaper to make it nice and minimal but when you look at the lock screen there is major vertical banding and the color seems to be a mix of red and black. It also looks very patchy.
I cant upload a pic at the moment as I don't have a camera with me and I don't think the screenshot would show it.
I know that there have been other threads mentioning color issues (banding, etc) and I DO get color banding in certain apps and such (nothing quite like this) but I don't get why this specific issue with "full black backgrounds" ONLY seems to be giving me issues on the lock screen?!
Im a bit stumped. Can anyone advise on this?
Thanks,
Update to the latest firmware. LC1 and LC2 don't have this problem.

So the "color banding" is gone with LC1 but the Black on the lock screen is still NOT showing as Black? What DOES it show as?
Also... Do you know if LC2 perhaps fixed the issue completely and WHY is this issue only happening on the lock screen? That is what Id REALLY like to know... Lol...

Nope, WidgetLocker fixes that **** I'm using it as we speak and the blacks are perfect
Unfortunately I lost my galaxy note a week ago so had to buy a new one, have rooted it and put on a new rom but I now have banding issue on the home screen. On the old note I downloaded an app called voodoo screen tuning r&d and it completely fixed the banding issue on the lock screen, unfortunately on my new note, has this ever been addressed? I'd like to put a nice black lockscreen on my phone without it looking like complete ass
It has been fixed. It's banding due to low quality image.. 99% of the banding issues come from that. It's like watching analog tv on a hd screen, you finally see the crap quality.
Download multipicture wallpaper, set lockcreen on random image of choice, make it transparent and put background black. BOOM! FIXED

it's the standard effect for the ics locksreen wallpaper, I don't think you can strech that dark layer if you are using a custom dpi...

I'm using samsung galaxy note n7000 and i have been using custom roms on it. I just change each time from Paranoid Android to JellyBam each time there's and update. I decided to try out RootBox Rom (nightlies). I don't usually install nightlies but i did this and i noticed my icons where blurry. Normaly i use 260 or 280 dpi and its very clear, sharp and crisp. i thought this problem was from the nighlies version of the ROM so i switched back to PA. the problem was still there. I installed JellyBam 8.2.0 and this problem still remained.
Please Help, I don't know what to do
the phone looks a little ok when its at 320dpi but still blurry. not sharp as it used to be then its worse if i switch to 280dpi or lower.
the photo below is on 280dpi

to me they look ok, it might be the background due to which they seem bit blurry. you can try using icon themer from play store or icon pack and use them with any launcher. I am using this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gau.go.launcherex.theme.mnml&feature=search_result
you're on latest nightlies??.. I'ts a known bug on cm base rom and I think it has been fixed, flash the latest rootbox nightlies or chnge to other rom...
