Thoughts on the PS Vita? - Off-topic

Its almost the same price as a ps3, so can't justify getting one over an ps3....
Otherwise, it seems to be the perfect hand held gaming console ever made to date...

Already have a ps3. But I'm interested in it. Would like to check one out in person. Seems pretty awesome.

I have an old DS Lite & even Game Boy Advance SP to run all my oldies.
What i'm looking the most in handled console is the autonomy. So if the Vita can run long enough and if the line up is good why not

Too expensive.

I'll get one, but not at launch. Probably around the time of the first price drop. Not many of the launch games interest me, and the proprietary memory cards are way over priced.

To me, its nothing special. Sure its got a large touch screen, and its probably more powerful than the 3ds, but I'd never buy a Portable PS again.

Was shocked when I saw the sticker price but I might invest in one a few months down the road once pricing drops. I havent purchased a portable gaming system since the original psp so I am curious to see all the new bells and whistles thats now available.

That thing looks amazing but not 300$ amazing..

Considering the game quality and portability i say its worth it if you play portable games for more than 2 hours

No, I haven't used or seen it in personal, but slim psp felt cheap when I used it...

Since i have got PS3 and Ipod touch i don't need it. And games are too expensive. I can buy Ps3 games in that price and they are better.

How about this for a deal play dock £9.99

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00...le?redirect=true&ref_=nosim&tag=hotukdeals-21
Bought thanks nt
Thanks a lot for the tip off.
thank you for the find
Nice product - I bought one immediately after getting my XP (paid £9.99) and it sits nicely on beside table with natty dimmed clock.....and, killer function is it charges overnight meaning I never need to think about charging
Cheaper here hxxp://www.foniacs.co.uk/sony-ericsson-dk300.html (£7.99)
Although I've never used foniacs, so not sure how good they are
The price on amozon keeps changing i seen it go as low as £7.15 I got it at £7.99 now its £9.99
That price makes more sense for the functions than what I paid.
This came bundled with my Xperia play and its really useful, My Xperia PLay is always above 50% because when ever I am at home its on the dock which charges the phone, Worth it.
Bought mine at foniacs few days ago for £7.99.. can't wait for it to come!

I learned that lesson after getting stolen a $200 dollar on contract phone after 2-3 months, then 6 months later the phone being only 250 w/o a contract (w880 I'm looking at you).
On topic: I bought a $2 plastic stand, no charging capabilities or fancy stuff, just to make it stand in portrait or landscape mode to watch movies and stuff. Not gonna spend on more SE if they keep limiting us with features.

Is It Worth Investing In?

I was just wondering since i already have a Gnexus, is it worth investing in? Just wanted to get some opinion from people who already received their orders and played around with it. Thanks

Definately worth it.. Only downside is after using one for a bit you'll think your GNex is too small!
Technology is never an investment. Two, three, six months later the latest hotness is two years old and worth a fraction of what you paid. Don't buy something as an investment and expecting to recover any expenses in the world of Technology.
As far as being worth the expense of being a useful gadget you will enjoy, yes it is very much worth it. If you spend any time browsing the web, youtube, games, or movies on your phone, using the Nexus 7 will make it a more enjoyable experience and not kill your phone in the process. Tablets are still limited to being media consumption devices, i.e. dont expect them to do everything a PC can, but they do have a viable need in the gap between a smart phone and a laptop or desktop.

It has the same processor as the GNex, with an open source operating system. Full Android will probably be running on it within a month. Sounds better than a smart tv in a much more aesthetically pleasing device with nfc.

It is aesthetically pleasing. Why would I need Android in a tv box when I have it in my hand? Short of a DVR function, the only thing I need it to do is wirelessly stream media from my hand to the TV. $99 is the price point for that, not $299. And I was never sold on the "everybody can use it" thing either, unless I'm coming to your house and jacking your stereo lol.

Is the Logitech the best keyboard to get?

I want a nice sized keyboard to type on,and I don't want a piece of junk either. The only thing that concerns me,is that apparently the web browsing shortcut key does not work on the Nexus due to it using Chrome and not Browser (was this ever fixed, btw?).
Is there any other quality keyboards out there, other than the Apple keyboard?

Well, HTC devices are very high quality, after you get past the carrier blocks to root, unlock bootloader, s-off and flash a custom rom, (aosp preferably because its always newer than sense).
But I'd rather get the updates first at the cost of a camera not being as good and ease of rooting.

Yes, I think you are right, but as we commented in another thread the other day (the sony nexus concept phone) there are some brands who could never work with google to make THE NEXUS. They can make google editions, as samsung and htc did, but the nexus, in my opinion, has to be a cheaper phone, so sony and htc should be out of this game...

I actually used it a lot. I would use it when I lost my remotes and got too lazy to look for them. At the sports bars to mess with my friends and some other random things. The funniest part of having it was when people would ask what app I used. Mainly iPhone users. Then i would have to explain it needs an ir blaster! Maybe the next iPhone will have them (not) lol
