It all worked i went in and change what i had to in hte biuld, but know it says in about min, meid, network, mobile network type, imei, imei sv is all unknown. and the signal strength is zero. I dont know whats wrong. and the right build is in /system. If you could could you help me out here. And when i go to do any changes in mobile networks, it says connection unavailible, whatever that means. So if you could help i would greatly appreciate it.

The two most common causes for 'no network' after a new wrong are :
1)no APN configured
2) wrong baseband file/ config
The APN you can check in your network settings. The baseband files can be set from an OpenRecovery like Androidiani. You could also flash a carrier/country specific update.zip. many are available in the forums.
I am sorry if you have already checked these 2 things. Your post does not mention them and they are, by far, the most common question asked after flashing a customer ROM.

Hello, I bought of a friend a Samsung galaxy s and he said it needs only unlocking,so i "think" i unlocked it successfully. Was putting a O2 Simcard in and in applications i was having then the o2 SIM Toolkit.
But when i tried to make an phonecall, he tells me "Mobile Network not available",so i went to settings and wireless and network and tried to choose an network operator but he tells me then " Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try again later."
What can I do?
Did you check the APNs?
Please first check if your IMEI is intact. If it is, flash a different MODEM and see if it works. If it's not, flash a fresh ROM using ODIN and that should hopefully restore your efs.
At first thanks for the reply, but now what is a APN? And how do i know if my IMEI is intact?
Sry,am a newbie
For you IMEI you should check your original SGS Box's sticker. There should be you IMEI number printed on. If you dial *#06# you should be able to read your IMEI. --> Look if it is the same as on your box
for apn settings. Apn is your connection settings, how your phone connects with the providers network. you have to check your mobile network settings if these are correct.
So, the IMEI nr is different then on the sticker, and the apn wasnt ticked,so I ticked the O2 and tried but still no mobile network.
Then i need to flash if I'm right?
I was already looking a bit around here about roms etc. But there are quite a few out there,so when you say to flash a fresh rom, which actually do I need to use?
Thank you
Hi again,
because the imei wasn't the same, I flashed it with a new rom (actually two different ones)
But still after both flashes I still don't got my old imei and still no mobile network available. After the one flash with I9000XXJPU he didn't said anymore no mobile network available, instead he said no data network available.
It would be nice if somebody would have some advice or help.
Thanks
hey! don't panic, i have had the the same problem
just download darky's resurrection edition in the development section and flash it. it should bring you back to froyo 2.2.1 and should also restore your imei properly. after this procedure you are free to flash any rom you want

Flash back to 2.2.1
Check imei
Continue on..
Also the problem you had when flashed JPU sounds like you didnt have your APNs correct..thats why the "no data network available"

No Network
Hi!
I have the same problem.
Network is fine (i switched the SIM-Card into different phones), but my SGS GT I-9000 does not connect / find to any network.
I am running Darky`s ROM 4.0.4 v11.0 Black Edition with 3.0.17-Semaphore_ICS_1.2.5s.
Also, the phone says on screen the name of my network provider (COSMOTE), but no signal.
What now?
Hi everyone,
I have a Rogers (Canada) Galaxy Captivate. I flashed to Serendipity VII, and my CSC is now showing "Unknown", and /system/csc is missing.
I roam with the phone a lot, and I use other countries' SIMs when I can. Will this prevent me from connecting to other networks, should I get this resolved before I do anything further? I tried flashing a CSC-Multi from JVS and it did nothing - just reset all my apps. /system/csc still missing.
Thanks,
-pN
Nope. Csc is basically irrelevant. You'll need your phone unlocked to use another providers sim tho if your phone is branded. Look up the efs nvdata hex edit method for the best way to manually unlock your phone if you haven't already.

ok - thx. as for the unlock... here's a weird one. I did it using the 1-click unlocked and tested it with the two local providers (Rogers and Fido). that worked. I then took it to India and tried to put a vodafone / airtel sim - and it wouldn't even find mobile networks! flashed to another modem (JVS), didn't help.
poked around and I think the imei got trashed as it was showing the default junked imei. I restored the efs and re-unlocked, this time using the galaxy unlocked from the marketplace. curious to see if this was the reason why airtel/vodafone were rejecting my phone...
Hi,
I just recently bought (second hand, on eBay - that was my first mistake...) a Verizon Droid 3 (so presumably an XT862?). It is failing to connect to any network, and is not detecting my SIM card. I'm in Australia, so there is no CDMA network here (but GSM on 850, 900, and 2100; UMTS 850, 2100).
The peculiar thing is that the Baseband is 'unknown' in the phone 'About' screen. Likewise, the IMEI, IMEI SV, Network, MEID, MIN, ERI and PRL are unknown. I don't know how many of these relate to the network, but I can't imagine an 'unknown' baseband is a good thing.
The phone is ostensibly 'unlocked', but shouldn't it connect to networks for emergency calls? (which is doesn't), even if it is locked and so doesn't detect my SIM?
The listed Kernel version in 2.6.35.7-g790a33c [email protected] #1
Build number is 5.5.1_84_D3G-55
I haven't rooted it or anything, and just did a wipe from the bootloader but to no avail.
I haven't tried reflashing it with the Fast/easy unbrick technique, because I don't want to go messing with the device if I'm just going to have to return it.
So in brief, the questions are:
1. Is it likely a flash would fix this problem? Does anyone have any experience with this problem? (I did search, but none of the answers really covered it)
2. Does the fast/easy unbrick take it back to stock? If so, which stock - Verizon?
3. Can I do the fast/easy unbrick? It doesn't fix the thing to CDMA does it (there was no indication it does in the relevant thread, I'm just being paranoid).
Cheers,
Fighting disappointment
Hi
Sorry to hear that. I think your phone have radio problems.
Some time ago i have this type of problem when installing ICS or any other rom with the xt860 radio inside a stock verizon rom.
Do the easy unbrick method that you post to back to stock rom and radio.
And after that see that if the baseband, imei appear correct.
If the phone ask you the subsidy code the phone is not unlocked.
Try that and post it here.

1) try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406812
I heard it solves problems for those with an unlocked phone but cannot connect to GSM
2) Yes. To XT862 verizon 5.6.890
3) I don't see why not
Awesome, thanks guys.
I've decided to contact the seller and see what resolutions they offer before I go and do anything that may prevent me being able to return the phone.
With some luck (probably a lot of luck) they will permit me to reflash the phone to see if it fixes the problem, and still return the phone if it doesn't resolve the problem.
In that case, I'll post the results here so others can see what the outcome was.
Cheers.
Just an update: neither the unbrick method, not the XT883 radio.img fixed the problem, sadly.
Cheers for the help anyways.
Same Problem on brandnew Verizon XT862
Hi Guys,
I have the same problem here. I got a Droid3 from an american friend. Some keys didnt work lately. And as it was still under warranty, I did send it to him and he sent the exchanged new device back to me. So it's not activated or anything. May this be the problem? It does not even activate radio. No question for SIM, no SIM detected. No IMEI, no baseband version. Strange.
Is it possible to send it to motorola, so they "activate" it? I can't connect verizon from germany(infos?).
Maybe it could be done with radiocomm???
Would be glad about any help!

Read this, it worked for me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686911
someone solve this problem?
I bought a new unlocked D3 from an online vendor who shipped it from Hong Kong.
I stuck in my Optus SIM and it just 'worked'.
I'm running hashcodes's CM10 on it at the moment.
So the phone is perfectly capable of working in Australia.
You might have to enable 'world mode' in the Wireless and Networks settings before it will talk to the SIM. It's been a while since i've run the 'stock' OS.
Just reassuring you the phone is capable of working down under - as mine does.
I am also having this problem and have tried many things to fix it, without luck. Anyone got a solution?

I figured this out after having the problem several times the radio imei number is wrong even if you have did the *228 and ##PROGRAM with the correct info. I found that when you check the System IMEI with a 3rd party software it will shot something like 3112000xxxxxxxxxx or something of the sort. MTKdroidTools has the ability to let you correct this issue.
A friend of mine gave me a S3 to play with and said i can have it if i can get it to work.
Now he doesnt know the original network that it came on or what the original firmware version was.
Before i even tried to get a sim card to work i unlocked it using the hidden menu with sha256 etc.
Now when i put in a sim card it doesnt register to a network, I am in the UK and have tried Three, GiffGaff and T-mobile sims as they are what i have and none of the register to network.
I have a couple of bars signal and the phone says "emergency calls only".
The IEMI seems fine and I have backed up the NV data using QPST and EFS Professional

Baseband Version - I9305XXUEML1
Kernal Version - 3.0.31-2051278

What would be the next step to try?
Have you considered that it may be blacklisted...
I wouldnt have thought so, It worked before when he used to use it ages ago, hes had a few phones since.
He messed around with it quite a lot and has changed the firmware/modems and what have you so much he doesnt know what he has done with it so i presume that its just not set up right.
So anybody got any ideas?
Flash a UK stock rom read the network imei efs stickied posts and work your way through them .
Try your carrier's guide of setting up the correct vpn.
