so I tried to Root my Dream and choose after a number of failed attempts I have decided to just give up so I want to wipe and restore my phone's OS the factory but when I try though the settings menu the phone restarts then just sits on the "Rodgers" logo for ever so is there anyway to fix that?
Don't give up so soon
I definitely recommend rooting. The rogers firmware sucks by default imo. I did not like my phone at all until I rooted.
Check this guide by HyeProfile, I just used it on a new rogers dream and it worked 100%:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4280573#post4280573
If you really don't want to root, you can follow the steps to try flashing (using the same instructions he gives in that post) with the official rogers radio.img and recovery.img here: http://www.stevebirstok.com/android/losemyroot.zip
well I hate how slow my phone feels so I'm going in for the root again thanks for the push to try again.

that means it can't see your sdcard.
see if dropping into the recovery console(alt+x) and typing
Code:
mount /sdcard
recovery
see if that helps anything since that command will mount your sdcard which it appears to be failing to read.
when I try enter the console all the options are removed form the screen then nothing happens all I see is the yellow text.
The yellow text I'm talking about is the error message I posted.
if you are trying to unroot it, use the same rc package that you use to downgrade it in the bootloader (camera and power) and run the .nbh there

Are you sure your sdcard is formatted to FAT32?
I'm going o try that when I get home
ok so it's weird.
E:Multiple firmware images
E:can't store hboot images

ok so now it just sits on the "Rogers" logo and wont enter any mode (camara+power)
edit: looks like that means I biked the thing hope they will replace it (i'll just blame it on their firmware update thing)
edit2: calling rogers to try get a replacement
will it it read an .nbh in the bootloader?
I don't know how can I test that or see if it will?
I was refering to the dreaimg.nbh from either rc29 or rc7 that you use to downgrade your phone in order to root it, that use the bootloader camera + power
no it wont enter any mode at all just sits on the rogers logo so a new phone should show up in the next 3 to 5 days
this kinda scares me off from trying again but I want to so I might.
got a all new phone and it still wont mount the Sd card like last time
ok so i helped some one root their rogers phone last night. are you trying to flash the radio, or have you followed all of the fastboot commands in the "rogers heres your real root" thread? the guy i was helping couldn't flash the radio but we got it with the fastboot commands
no I'm past loading recovery.img with fastboot and I'm trying to apply the update.zip
thats very odd. so you did all the fastboot commands and still can't get it to work?
is it any rom you try to flash?
well I was following the guide in one of the first posts
Just tried the update to 2.3 in the dev forum - followed the instructions, but now i get a kind of recovery screen with the following-
E: failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
E: install_application_for_customer:can't mount /data
your storage not prepared yet. please use UI menu for format and reboot actions
copy application failed
anyone know what i can do?
thanks
I had the sam problem.
I solved it this way.
1. Flash stock rom from overcome guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=932082
file: "The Overcome Guides 1.6.4.zip"
2. Booting the Tab
3. Restart the Tab into download mode.
4. install 2.3.3 like described in chainfires thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073854
That work for me.

this error throws me my tablet after trying to update with the official version
as we explain the model is p1000n and perform the update via the ODIN.
I'm desperate please help
It sounds like you didn't flash the dbdata file, or go into recovery after you flashed. What instructions did you follow?

attempt to move from gingerbread froyo because the buttons and capacitive screen not working and my tablet today and made a greater mistake than try to install the kernel Huberos but after the word Samsug restarts and this becomes a repetitive cycle.
if I can help many thanks from now, I appreciate that very

Please flash dbdata.rfs at the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23348040#post23348040
I hope this solve your problem.
If that fails, please follow this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918722&highlight=p1000n
If that still fails, let's start from the very beginning:
you can download any official firmware at http://fus.nanzen.se/
1a. Download Check Fus Downloader 2.1
Open Check Fus Downloader, and select the correct model of your G-Tab, choose a Firmware for your region. It will automatically decode the .enc2 file to.zip file
2.a. Extract the .zip file generated from decoding file to a folder and you will get
tar.md 5 file.
3. Start Odin - put the .md5 to PDA and leave everything else as is.
4. Go to download mode on the G-tab (Power + Volume down) - connect to your computer.
and click start. It takes about 6 to 7 minutes to do the flashing.
Can't guarentee if it would work, but good luck.

There were 3 options. Which step did you follow?
on your CWM, do you have the option of mount/unmount (Should be under "Storage Menu")? If yes, can you try if you can mount /data?

Mount HumberOs v 2.1 from the external memory, from the cwm, but the system after installation reboots again, but it still does not start rebooting.
over other options and try the 2 options, the first and third, the second I can not try because my tablet is not burned and that's one solution for burning tablets

Had the same issue because of wrong pit file. Solved when flashing via odin with repartition checked and as pit file: s1_odin_20100512.pit. Downloaded from samfirmware
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy S GTI9000 ZSJW4 with SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse & flashed Semaphore_2.7.4 with Odin3 v3.04. Then updated to cm-10.0.0-galaxysmtd with Semaphore CWM Recovery V5.0.2.7. Everything went well.
Before these steps, I did a backup and saved in my Pc. and then did another backup after i flashed everything, it was working just fine until I tried to restore it using my first backup where everything got messed up. It seemed to complete the restoration from backup just fine, but after I rebooted it from CWM. On startup the bootlogo blinked once and went straight back into recovery which I wasn't expecting. And this is what it shows up on recovery.
Semaphore CWM Recovery C5.0.2.7

E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(This keeps on coming up every time i reboot , I still have access to download mode and recovery, thats about it, not further than that)
I am not sure what caused this, I have tried to find posts on similar issues and haven't come across any that explains clearly how to fix the issue:
Can somebody please explain what part I went wrong and perhaps someway to fix it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I tried the steps on your second post:
docsgoogle/open?id=0B67As4gsEH4XODdZSnhMMGtaUEU
Step 1: Start Odin
Step 2:
a. Select PIT file as 's1_odin_20100513.pit'
b. Select PDA file as 'PDA_DXJV9_Deodexed_Zipaligned.tar'
c. Select PHONE file as 'PHONE_DXJV9.tar'
d. Select CSC file as 'CSC_OLBJV9.tar'
Step 3: Under Options: Check Re-partition, Check Auto Reboot and Check F. Reset Time
Step 4: Start the phone in the download mode
Step 5: Once ID:COM/phone is 'Added!!' click Start
Step 6: You will see a lot of red text after the flash is done, don't panic, just do a 'wipe data/factory reset' and reboot the device when done.
Step 7: Let the device boot all the way then turn it off.
Step 8: Re-enter Download Mode and re-flash only the CSC file [Step 2 d] without pit and without re-partition.
It should work now...ENJOY
THIS WORKS!
where is the lockscreen file of a rom?and whats its name?
and the wallpapers of the rom?
Hi everyone!
I have a Galaxy S3 4G, I9305, and I have no idea what's happened to it. To make it short and sweet:
I can boot into Odin, it has triggered the counter.
To be exact it says:
HTML:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9305
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (3 counts)
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
I tried to flash a new CWM tar-file, as well as TWRP and a Sammy-ROM (can't remember which one), everyone gives it a FAIL in Odin. The program itself shows "Added!" when I connect my phone, so it's something. Still, it fails me on the tar-files I've tried, no specific reason, just a fail.
When I open CWM, I'm greeted with these messages:
HTML:
CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4 : : CF-v1.5
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
These messages will come up every time I enter an option like advanced, mount etc. If I try to select "install zip from sdcard" I get "Can't mount /sdcard/", and if I try to install zip from internal sdcard, the phone reboots.
If I try to wipe the phone, it says "formatting /data..." for a few seconds, before it reboots.
Is there any hope at all for this phone, or is it completely bricked? Could it be hardware related?
Thanks to everyone replying!
Try to flash latest version of TWRP and format everything again.
Thanks for your reply!
As I stated in the post, everything I flash gives me an error - TWRP as well
Anything else I can do?
