This is the Q&A section for the new Dark Knight Cappy ICS ROM!
Only one Q.. Will Glitch be compatible with this in the future?

You have to ask the Glitch's author...
My turn :
1. Does this rom fix the usb transfer issue? Can u show a pic of usb transfer rate?
2. The Xloud is instead of voodoo sound or voodoo sound doesnt support yet?
That's all i want to know to get back to ICS or not. Thank you very much!
Does this ROM have the BLN (back light notification) feature or something similar?
Oh, so Glitch does not work with this ROM? Guess I'm sticking to KK4
I think its time to save money for a new galaxy...

Issues
Issues I have found so far:
1. This has been reported, I know, but I am also having the error with my signal strength being reported constantly as 0dbm and 97asu.
2. I have had a a couple random shut downs. When it shuts down, I cant get it to power back on again unless I do a battery pull; the buttons are non-responsive. This makes me believe that it is going into a lock, but then wont unlock as opposed to shutting down, but I don't know. All I can see is that the screen blinks off (as if i just hit the power button) and then is totally unresponsive.
3. the MIUI style battery bar doesn't rescale when the the phone is put into landscape mode.

4. This is not so much an issues as it is a question. This is the first ICS rom I have run, so I am not familiar with all the ins-and-outs, but is there a way to get a long-press context menu in the contacts app? There are a lot of contacts I would like to join and having to open the contact, press edit, and then press join makes it take exponentially longer. (Also, would like a black themed contacts... but as another user said in the dev section, I can survive without )
Great ROM! Thanks for your work!
Awesome theme!!
**Probably should have posted this question here first**
I want to combine the theme from Dark Knight with the Slim ICS ROM, creating a hybrid version: Dark Slim...maybe?
Copying over .pngs from the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk is fairly straightforward. I assume I'll also need to copy over some of the xml files.
Can anyone tell me which file(s) control the background color within Dark Knight, making it black as seen in the comparison below, instead of the stock grey?
Is the Facebook sync working?

what kernel can i use or is best to oc/uv on this rom?
What is best kernel to install to oc? Or list ones that are compatible?
Thanks
Right now all there is, is the one I included. Glitch won't boot this ROM
Is there any way to put the wifi/bluetooth/GPS/etc. shortcuts into the notification bar?
I'd like to be able to access these from anywhere.

Can this ROM obtain the extra feautures?
After updating from 1.0 to 2.1. Notification light no longer work any suggestion to get it back? Tried to install BLN but I guess its not supported with the kernel.
Complete noob to installing roms and so forth but all i want to ask is....My cappy has DLEV Rom 5.0 with GB Bootloaders.... can i load this rom? ....or will i have to go back to stock....
Reason i'm asking, saw some conflicting posts in the main thread and got a bit confused
Baseband: i9000UGKC1
No, you can flash this over your GB ROM, just make sure to flash this ROM twice
when you say flash twice what do you mean? .....Load rom.zip on..... wipe..... flash....wipe again.....reflash? ....
TV Out
I could not find the TV out in the display is this cause it was a port from a different phone or is this something that is not implemented in this version of the firmware. I love Dark Nights, but I use this feature a lot.
Thanks for any reply that may come.

Well, if you haven't loaded anything yet on the phone you can probably just flash it again after you flashed it the first time(saying that you've stayed in the Recovery mode), but if you want to stay on the safe side yes, wipe Cache and System/Factory Reset.
thanks for the responce cOld1.....

works awesome! thanks bro, nice work!
Looks amazing! Will give it a go.
EDIT: Works! Although for some reason my LauncherPro settings were kinda reset. At least the stuff on my homescreens are still there
Works well. Reboot after flash was really fast. Now we need a battery mod and notification pulldown alt themes.

You are amazing, sir. Worked perfectly on Perception 7!
EDIT: One thing that's kinda bothering me though... no % on the battery. Know that's not really stock 2.3, but it would definitely be something awesome to have in the future.
I took the liberty of trying this in a JI6 build ROM, Almost everything works except the time doesn't show up and the reception bars are showing the EV icons instead of the regular green icons. Anyone know how I would go about porting this for a JI6 build?
is launcher pro required for this?
I flashed via clockwork mod recovery and it wouldnt boot

I'm using ADW launcher and it booted. The theme had a few errors with my ROM, however, because I'm on a different build than JK3. It did take a litter while longer to boot though.

Hmm, im hesitant to try again - I'm using AXURA ROM, it should work :/
I let my phone die, and tried starting it back up again with the USB, and it's stuck on a repetitive FC boot loop. No idea what to do.
I had to enter download mode (insert USB while holding both volume buttons) and then flash back to stock.

Hello All,
I have the Rogers Captivate i-896 and recently moved over from a Bell I-9000 GTM. Reason why I moved from I9000 is due to the scare that most of the Bell Versions weren't flash friendly.
Due to my bad experience in the past, I just want to double check before I flash any roms. My two big interests lately have been either the Firefly ROM or Pheonix 2.2.1 version 4.5. Just wondering, anyone on XDA with a Rogers I896 that is currently running any of these ROMs with no issues at all?
Sorry if this is a repeat. I'm just not about to read 800 pages through the thread. Thanks a lot and your feedback will help a lot!
I too would love to know the answer to this.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I896 using Tapatalk
Firefly all the way!
The only flaw I have found in it is the SMS timestamps, that can be fixed by installing SMS time fix from the market.
Its infinately customizable. (there is a huge thread based on it and pheonix here, alot of the Pheonix stuff will work on it as well)
It also does not apply the AT&T boot screen on startup, so if you do have any warranty issues getting back to stock is all that much easier.
I'm currently running it and its great!
Its also based on our stock rom.........Whats better than that

Some of the parts of them are. I don't believe the whole themes are. But there are firefly themes in the thread as well.

Can I theme the Stock Dialer on the Fire Fly ROM? Or, will I screw things up if I flash this?

Dammit. Now I feel like a noob, with the question I am about to ask...........
Sooooo, the old way I flashed the rom is not working for me. I am installing Clockwork Mod Recovery via Rom Manager, and then I keep clicking "Reboot into Recovery Mode".. I've done this process over and over atleast 5 times, and its not booting into CWM Recovery. What do I do?
I am trying the OneClick ODIN, but it doesn't give me an Option of which ROM file to flash..
HELP?!
Have you got firefly installed?
What do you mean? I downloaded the ROM and put it on my SD Card.. But, its just a matter of getting into Clockwork Mod Recovery so I can flash it.. I know what to do in Clockwork, just don't know why its not booting into Clockwork Mod.. :??
power down the phone.
boot into recovery manually vol-/vol+ and power
when you get into recovery choose reinstall packages.

Looks very good. Has anyone tried this on a stock ROM yet?
Also, I prefer the default android animations (I think it's faded zoom), is it ok if you release a stock_animation version?

Whoa that was fast. Downloading now. While creating a Nandroid backup. Will check back if it works.
Okay, I flashed it, and unfortunately, it bootlooped my stock ROM.
I notice that the reboot happens after going into the lockscreen itself. So I removed my sim card, rebooted, and it was actually able to go all the way in. But I was met with FC's from Gframework, Gmail, and fonts.
Nandroided back to my stock ROM then...
Oh Maybe it just works for MoDaCo rom...
Thanks for the effort still simdroid. Actually, I just got this phone for a week. On my 2nd week, I plan to flash FR17 fear anyway.
I'm seeing alot of people using that ROM.
Suggestion
One thing that I noticed in the screenshot by the way, is that your theme uses a flat status bar (which I really like).
Might I suggest matching it with flat rendered lock slides as well?
I'm thinking mildly translucent gingerbread sliders. I've attached a framework res I use in my Milestone. Hope the drawable-hdpi's help.
This is just a suggestion btw, I'm fully fine if you like the Froyo sliders better.

SCREENSHOTS ADDED!
Screenshots will be uploaded, however at the minute my internet is very bad, so just upoading the rom is bad enough
After roughly six or seven days of playing around with multiple roms (both stock and custom) I have decided to make/release my own for XDA.
For the minute this rom is mainly just Themed with a few tweaks here and there, but as development continues I hope to totally revamp the entire look (and maybe even the feel) of the Phone.
Whats Included:
QuickPic 2.6 replacing Gallery3D
HoloLauncher
Chainfire3D
Domscript v1 by domnic79
15 Toggle & 6 Lock Screens by Alucard1989pl
New Boot Animation Included
A couple new Ringtones/Alarms
Default Font is set to 'Veggie Burger Med'
A few wallpapers
Not much else I'm afraid as of yet
This rom SHOULD would on any baseband, however i have not tested it on every one
Caution: This update should be strictly applied to the S5830i and is not for S5830 model. If you attempt to install this rom on a standard S5830, you are a fool. You have been warned
Disclaimer: Neither I nor XDA can be held responsible if anything goes wrong with your device during or after flashing this rom. By downloading this rom you agree to the fact that if you break your phone, I'ts not my fault. however, if after installing this rom it doesn't work...please don't hesitate to contact me directly and I will try my best to resolve your problem.
By now everybody should know how to install a custom rom, but for those who don't follow this guide:
Turn off your phone
Go into recovery mode by holding Home screen button + Power button + Volume up key
OPTIONAL but recommended: Backup your existing rom
Select "wipe data/reset" and complete the action
Select "wipe cache partition" and complete the action
Select "install update from sd" and select the file ResonanceV05b.zip
Reboot your phone
OPTIONAL: Enjoy your new rom
Prerequisites :
A Rooted Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i
Clockworkmod Recovery or RZrecovery
An open mind
Bugs:
QuickPic decides it will force close upon opening until you reinstall it via a root explorer app.
V1 Changelog:
Custom Boot animation (that should work now)
15 Toggle & 6 Lock Screens by Alucard1989pl fixed (i hope)
Attempted to change the dialer theme slightly
Reworded the UpdateScript when flashing.

Huge Ups to Tim for CM7!
Ok did some testing to Gb MIUI. Here are some issues. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT try to log into your Google account through setup, IT WILL NOT WORK! Not with data or wifi. You need to sign in through settings, accounts and sync. Second is the capacitive backlights will not come on unless you tap the brightness toggle. They stay on till the screen is off, then same deal. There is an app on the market to do this automatically, its called Soft Buttons Light. Thirdly same issues as CM7 Usb Icon stays on, and external sd mounts to emmc. So no swap sd! Other than those minor issues the Rom runs smooth and things seem to be working.

Broken LED lights is FW related, I will decompile this later, Lewa shares the same issue.
LED light issue should be solved (thx Tim!) and speed and battery tweaks have been applied, everything should for real work so I'm going to go ahead and call this finished until CM7 gets updates (If ever)

Yep, It's currently fatally broken in this build in services.
Bump, replaced with a port of MIUI Life V5 from the Galaxy Ace folks, this can be used as a Daily Driver and does include the native MIUI Camera that can take HD photos as well as CM7s for compatibility reasons; It's also worth noting even though MIUI v3 is older It has the most customization options so things in the status bar like brightness slider must be set to 'manual' in system settings to enable it
Also the Google keyboard from 4.2 Is also on the market from Google
