PHONE : N7000DDLB1
CSC : N7000DDLA1
I need to upgrade to an ICS ROM (with root). Please direct me to a proper guide
I Followed this guide. It's really a simple guide for anyone .
I've purchased mobile Odin Pro. Can I use it with ICS as well ?
YES. I Can .
Can I switch back to my CF-Rooted GB again (I've CWM backups) ?

ICS Repack Problems
Hi all,
I managed to flash ICS Repack by Chainfire on my galaxy note today. It is pretty cool and really fast. But I've few questions to ask regarding this new ROM. Please be kind enough to direct me to a appropriate thread if these questions are already been asked and solved.
After I flash ICS Repack, I cannot find CWM anymore. What happened to it ? and how I can get it back ?
How I can go back to my old GB rooted ROM (I've CW backup of that rooted LB2 GB ROM) ?
By now, this ICS version cannot render South Asian languages. but LB2 rendered it very well. Are there any option to get that language support on this ICS ?
I need to change this Keyboard (Chinese) to English. Any other method to change it (Instead of installing GO Keyboard) ?
In our county phone numbers have two formats (our numbers are start with "0" but receiving calls don't have that starting "0" ). But in this ICS ROM, those 2 numbers are Identifying as two different numbers. Any method to fix that issue ?
Can I get my CPU speed to 1.4GHz again ?
Please be kind enough to help me on these matters.
Thank You.
This is why users should study BEFORE they flash. Anyways. Flash CWM, boot it, resrore backup. Cant help you much. Just got my Note happy studying

Stick with GB for now...people working with ICS around here like to make you jump through hoops just to get your phone to work...so if you're not will to spend the time on it, then stick with GB...no fuss, no muss.
The answer to 3. is a very simple 'yes, you can always go back'.
Also, massive thanks for updating your OP with the answers you have found. If only all question-askers did this.

In exactly this thread Chasmodo described the installation procedure very good. If I give you a step-by-step help it wouldn't be different from Chasmodo's.
And if this is too complicated or you do not have the energy or time to concentrate on it, you should stay on 4.0.4 and wait for the next official update to Jelly Bean.
As beginner who doesn't want to read you are in real danger to hard brick your device.
But maybe you don't even know the "speciality" of the N7000 with it's bricking danger.

why philz kernel...because
1.its safe
2.can be flashed via stocked recovery
3.it gives you root+touch based cwm recovery+safe kernel.
now the thing is philz kernel are rom specific so find right kernel for your rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191

Right guys
I am getting fed up on trying to root this phone using ODIN and the various CF-ROOTS but every time I do it some of them will just not flash some do flash but then the mobile does the reboot loop!
My mobile details are :
FIRMWARE - 2.3.3
BASEBAND - I9000BWJV2
KERNEL VERSION - [email protected] #2
BUILD NUMBER - GINGERBREAD.XWJVH
I honestly have tried lots of CF-ROOTS using the ODIN process but they just don't seem to work.
If somebody could just point me to the CF i need and the files i would appreciate it so much, it's getting really annoying now
Thanks all appreciate it :victory:

3)tell me in detail what method u use
4)what region are u?
5)do u need to unlock ur sim or phone?
6)what exact are u wanna upgrade?
7)can ur fone go to download mode?
8)is there any code,like can t mount e:/blablabla when u bootloop?
9)do u know what ur firmware region by confirming build number?

Then the best advice I have for you: do not root your device. Dr. Ketan's instructions are simple and straightforward.
If you can't follow them then rooting and changing your device isn't a good thing to do.
Jesus, there are soooo many of these types of threads atm... Read people read!
