Is anyone here thinking of buying this phone? im buying mine sunday when it will be released to the public... but i want to know if anyone else is buying and why? from what i hear the at&t version has a faster processor. so once again, who is getting their new note this sunday besides me?
No, already got the international version and I don't see the use to get another. The international version seems to be slightly better than at&t - check phonearena.com for review.
Only thing that I would be interested to purchase from at&t is the battery cover because it has the "Galaxy Note" logo at the back!
The faster clockspeed on the ATT note doesn't translate into a "faster" processor.

thanks for this guys..i thought there are much different between the international and the at&t version
According to the review posted on engadget which has seperate sections for the ATT and international version: The Att version is thicker, slower, and heavier.
I'm having trouble finding actual hardware differences though. I prefer to the 1 hardware button design of the international version but someone suggested that only the ATT version supports LTE. Is that true?
---------- Post added at 03:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:56 PM ----------
This thread confirms the lack of LTE on the international version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1503158
at&t version
i have the at&t version and using it now... cermic white is better than black ... make sure you get the white version lol
anyway, 3rd party launchers aren't as smooth as the stock TW launcher unfortunately, but i am still very pleased with the phone.
both processors are extremely fast - i don't think there are too many applications that would really challenge the note anyway... my playstation emulator does just fine.
i think the capacitive buttons are MUCH cooler as well. they light up - look very cool!

I want to get the note with ATT after I leave verizon (no point in staying if I can't keep unlimited when I upgrade). I want to know that if I install roms for the I7000 or whatever (international version, right?) will I run into any problems? Is there any differentiation between the att version of the note and the international one? And if so, how can I weed out the development for the att note?
Also curious, if I can install international roms on the ATT version, will I retain my lte?
Different phones. Use the AT&T Note thread for information.

Different hardware entirely. Either buy the ATT note and checkout the ATT note forum, or do what I did and buy the international note (unlocked) and use on AT&T network (in which case this is the correct forum). But you can't mix.

That's exactly what I did. I have the unlocked GT-N7000 (this forum model) on the ATT network. But yeah, totally different phones.

I have been doing a ton of research on the Note, so this is one of the few questions I can answer here. Not all of them...but most. Since I am still new here I am unable to add links.
The Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 (International) has a a dual-core 1.4 GHz Exynos processor. Externally, it has a physical "home" button and two touch-sensitive buttons. It also has a built in radio.
The Samsung Galaxy Note SGH-I717 (US & Canada) has a Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion CPU and an Adreno 220 GPU. It has four touch-sensitive buttons instead of two. It can do LTE.
Looking at that you might think that the I717 is just better all around. This -apparently - is incorrect. In the bench marked tests I saw with a Galaxy Note with Exynos VS. the Galaxy Note with Snapdragon, the Exynos based one beat Snapdragon performance wise.
Galaxy Note with Exynos
GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt High: 2827 Frames (25.0 Fps)
GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt Standard: 3012 Frames (26.7 Fps)
Galaxy Note with Snapdragon
GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt High : 1014 Frames (9.0 Fps)
GLBenchmark 2.1 Egypt Standard : 2425 Frames (21.5 Fps)
The site I found this from is called "Galaxy Tabs" from a a Feb 6, 2012 post.
Which leaves the question - Why would Samsung use a less hefty chip in the US & Canada version. The reason I have found is that the Exynos processor can't do LTE. Then again - weather all this is good or not depend on preferences and pattern of use.
------------------
So there you have it. I should mention though that (I presume) you did a terrible job searching. Not only did I find a post here from 28th February 2012 Called i717 vs GT N7000, but I also found alot of information from -wait for it- Wikipedia. Just FYI.
On the upside though - most of the stuff I mentioned I did from memory.
YAY research!
The att i717 has lte. If u using internet alot and your area has lte. Its better to use the att gnote. U can always overclock tge i717gnote to make tge clock faster.. After overclock there's no lag issues and it runs super smooth. But if u want more custom roms abd faster offical update. Buy the international gnote. Either way u cant go wrong. I chose attgnote cos tge lte and i overclock my note. It runs super smooth and super fast downloads cos tge lte!!

Goes on Sale on Amazon starting October 3rd for $899.00
This SUCKS, that seller is not allowing purchases from Canada:crying:. Please keep posting links for the International models as they become available. Huge thanks
Amazon:
"SIM Micro-SIM Memory Internal 32 GB, 4 GB RAM Card slot microSD, up to 128 GB"
They also don't specify which model it is. It just says "Item model number: SM-N910." Doesn't say if it's the S or the C.

I can't find "Exynos" anywhere on this page: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SM-N910-Factory-Unlocked-International/dp/B00N2Y5ALK
To be clear the phone is NOT being sold by Amazon, it's being sold by a secondary seller named "DeltaMobiles."
However, their feedback is pretty good... 4.7 stars / 3407 reviews.
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/aag/main...=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=&seller=A2GKOXTPZV7SMA
Their price was also about fifty dollars cheaper last week.
Does anybody know when does Samsung and other providers start to sell this unlocked phone officially, is it on the actual release date or later?
I have attempted to contact them to verify the compatible LTE bands. Can I assume it is not compatible with US band specifically att?

well, seems like the international will have 4 gb of RAM, this is not the first place where I see 4 GB RAM, not sure about the USB v3 maybe a typo. But doesn't hurt to place a pre-order they don't take you credit card info anyways

I wouldn't say that. the second link doesn't even have the right picture.. it also has "Expected announcement date" which makes me think the site was created before the announcement before we REALLY knew the specs..
I'd say its inaccurate and wrong.

Yep that is possibility too. On amazon I saw some store was taking pre orders with similar description 4 GB for the international edition, might be wrong might be true we will find out soon. However, it doesn't hurt to make pre-order in case if its true at least you will have some reservation. Also as I said they don't take you credit card, so you won't have to deal with "wrong charges" and etc.

Here is my response from Delta Mobiles.
Hello,
The phone will support 4G/LTE with any "GSM" carrier as long as it supports the frequencies. Here are the frequencies for 4G/LTE:*4G LTE : *800/850/900/1800/2100/2600. Let me know if you have additional questions.
Have a great day!

I presume that 'unlocked' means not locked to any carrier. It is NOT bootloader unlocked (ie. not rootable or ROM installable). Correct?
Yeah, it never means bootloader unlocked..
I am looking to buy another Note 4 and was wondering what the pros and cons of each where. Also will the international work on T-mobile without issue? I tried searching for the answers before I made this post (I may just do a poor job searching) and only found speculation post before the phones were released. I know with my T-Mobile Note 4 it seems it overheats from time to time if I am downloading a torrent and I found an article about Samsung dropping the 810 because of "overheating fears".
Thanks for any advice or information in advance.
910U taiwan is awesome. no issues.

Buy the T-Mobile variant if you live in the states and use T-Mobile or any of its affiliate MNVO's.
Buy the T-Mobile variant if you live in the states and want the warranty via T-Mobile / Samsung.
Buy the T-Mobile variant if you live in the states or live abroad and want true GSM bands and or want to root.
Don't Buy the T-Mobile variant if you're concerned with overheating (Common byproduct of Snapdragon SoC's)
Buy the SM-910C instead, and be aware, of its CAT4 LTE Modem, Lack of Warranty (if buying and living in the States), and Exynos Chipset (Some say performs a tad bit better), but lesser ROM Development; still caries most of the bands the T-Mobile Snapdragon variant and is GSM-ready.

I wish it was on sale last week when I got my WiFi model off Craigslist. I would have paid 280 for a brand new one with the Snapdragon, even if I never activated the LTE

I just paid almost $400 for this yesterday from BestBuy. WTF.
I think they have a 14 day price adjustment policy though. So.... whew.

Just tried to buy another one but they changed it to "pickup only" and it's not available anywhere in Austin or San Antonio, Texas areas. Bummer.
Hope they still price guarantee it for me.

No.
The Sony is brighter, but the Samsung AMOLED has slightly better sunlight readability from (what I've read).
I'd rather have the Samsung but I need LTE and root and ROM capability. Sony was the next best choice in the display size range I want.

You know what, you guys got me wondering. While all the USA based GSM LTE versions have a locked bootloader, I didn't even stop to consider that an International LTE version may not be locked.
The SM-T705 appears to be rootable and CM12 is available. I may have to research it since the Sony has not yet shipped to me.
EDIT: Sounds like the T705 only has 3G, not LTE (on T-Mobile bands).
I wouldn't buy one since you can't root it. But Best Buy still has the LTE for $279 on their eBay site:

when i got my Note 5 Duos (white, 64GB), as soon as i connected to the internet and logged into my Google account, there was already an update. i held off though just because i'm waiting for root and don't want to continue with any updates just yet. i'm not sure how the international/unlocked versions are scheduled for updates, but with my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (both WiFi versions) each got the 5.1.1 update within the same time my Sprint S6 edge got the 5.1.1 update.
can you type what it would look like if it offered Hebrew? i'll try to check tomorrow to see if it's already supported or not.
(if anybody is interested, i'll have a white Note 5 Duos (64GB) for sale within a week. PM.)

possibly, if you're rooted. but i would imagine the Dual-SIM OS would be the same as the regular international version (single-SIM) with the exception of the Dual-SIM menu.
