Any signs? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if or when we may get a better release from Samsung mobile, can't see anything on twitter, and does anyone know if any devs may release a cwm flash version today?
Sorry to post this, just really excited, and would be great to know if something may be here today.

You don't need to make threads like this. If there is a new leak then someone will make a thread about it, if there is no new leak then there's no new threads either.

Ok
Mod please close thread, sorry

Still need a better dump ... this one apparently missing permissions and symlinks
It is a great start though
can I download it and extract appear from it or does it need to deodexed
We now have a complete system dump.

Man, I would love to see how well the vibrant runs with this rom optimized for the hummingbird processor. It would be nice to know if any dev is taking on porting this rom to the vibrant. I see some action going on in the i9000 and captivate forums, but yet to see anything here. Or maybe I just missed it. Im not rushing or anything. I know this project could take days or even weeks, but I would like to know if eugene, tw, or anyone else mentioned anything yet.

although i have not heard or seen anything, i would think our developers are on it. At least i hope so

Hey all,
Just wanted to point out that there's a Nexus S dump sitting around. They're already drooling over it on the Captivate forums.

If I had to guess... I would say anywhere in between tomorrow and December 2012. I don't think the Mayans predicted gingerbread for the vibrant... so we may be **** out of luck. ;-)

Android 2.3.4 on LG Thrill

I read online that it is possible to install the base Android 2.3.4 on the LG Thrill 4G.
http://m.answers.downloadatoz.com/q,14906,how-to-update-lg-thrill-4g-to-android-2-3-4-firmware.html
Above referenced is the website describing how to install 2.3.4 I just would like more information from someone more knowledgeable about the Thrill and Android. Is it actually possible and will 2.3.4 fully function on this phone?

Yeah this topic should be deleted.

WHY should it be deleted why wont anyone explain what they say..
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda premium
Because 2.3.4 is not out for this device yet. And if you flash some random devices ROM on to your thrill its not going to work. But if you want to try and flash it. Go for it. But be fore warned, its not going to work. But if you must, flash the rom and see what happens.

Basically, that page is telling you to do something that just isn't possible at this time. In order to install CM7 (what that page is suggesting), someone will have to port it to our specific device. There are going to be things that will need drivers, recompiling, etc. before it can be installed on a Thrill.
Can we get a lock on this thread.before the flaming begins

Where's Mr. Clown when you need him?
Give the Guy a break. Everyone starts out learning like we all did. Basically the link you referenced was simply asking if it could be done, and like another poster explained a cyanogen mod would have to be created yet nobody has made one for the device yet most likely since its so new. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately LG has to build the source if you want to be able to use the 3D stuffs. We have cm7 that works but due to real3d being proprietary an aosp gingerbread build wont allow for that stuff to work.

So we can't use 3D unless LG releases that build?!?!?!?!?

Patience. Remember that this is a new phone. And the 3D application is still new so it takes a bit to get things optimized for specialized features on devices.
I believe they're making some progress on CM for the EVO3D. Should be somewhat applicable.

There is also progress being made on the Optimus 3D, which is essentially the same device as ours. Patience will pay off on this one.
OP: don't take all the angry/annoyed comments too personally, I think my first post here got the same reaction! Nobody is trying to be an asshole to you though, its just that the rules are pretty clear but there's a constant influx of new members who unknowingly break the rules and it annoys the devs that want to use this sub-forum for its intended use. Just read the rules and you'll be good

I was running some unofficial build of CM7 for a couple weeks this month, it was clearly made for the optimus 3d, not thrill, and I didn't even try using any of the 3d applications because people complained about it causing force closes... But other than that, it was extremely impressive! The speed/fluidity was incredible. I didn't like how it handled storage, but that was my first time using CM7 so I probably just need to get used to it.
Anyway, if you can go without 3d for a while, the unofficial CM7 port for optimus 3d is impressive! I think the link is on the dev forum in optimus 3d. Oh, and I personally didn't have any problems with my network data, so I'd suggest trying it out before flashing some other radio, it might not be necessary.
Can this post be moved to the "General" section yet since there's no "Development" going on in it?

Dead or just getting started?

Okay so jw I don't see allot of development is this phone almost dead or does it have a future ?

Bump for greatness anybody answer my question?
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA
most of the devs jumped ship.
There's still a few good devs hanging around. but I think ROM production has peaked, until ICS is released at the end of year.
There is more activity on the O3D forums, all the ROMs work on the P925.
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda premium
Yeah so I heard but atleast we have O3D support and we know for sure were getting ICS so makes things nice knowing that but another question do we have official cyanogenmod support I couldn't help but notice our spot on there forums but not on the main page so that's kinda confusing
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA
There is at least one dev working on CM7 for P920/P925. Updates are sparse, but there is support.
I'm not too sure why we're not on the official devices page, perhaps because there is no Stable release yet?

Maybe a stupid question, ice leak, Tegra driver for jb?

Probably get flamed, trolled or whatever you call it.
Had a look about but couldn't see anyone talking about it, probably because people haven't had chance yet.
But because there is ics with working Tehran drivers, would this mean they can be ported to jb Roms?
I await my put downs

working Tegra drivers have already been ported to JB ROMs - that's exactly what CyanogenMod 10 is! In fact many phones that received ICS but not JB were able to get JB custom ROMs using ICS drivers, regardless of their hardware.
edit: I've been had, this is a troll!

What are you guys doing now that kr is over?

Going to jb? Staying on kk?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm not going to comment on all that dev drama crap. It sucked. I'm over it. Anyways KR is still kick ass for me and so I'm staying. I'm kitkat spolied. We can't get any AOKP or cynagenmod so this is the tip of it. The sad thing is that a talented dev screwed us and himself on the donation front. Damn I said I wouldn't go there......my bad.
Sent from my Note 3 "Ghostwerks style".....using your mom's hacked AT&T wifi.....dig it?
I plan on staying with KitKat even though my favorite rom is gone. Not sure what to think about the situation but I guess my phone will continue to run KR5.6 until I find something better. I think it is unlikely that Note 3 users will get anything better than what we saw with that particular dev even though it was a pretty shady situation.
Just my opinion...
Can somebody please send me a valid link to kr5.6? Maybe Dropbox or something just so I can experience it? I wasn't around to grab it b4 the drama or whatever was going on

Unfortunately seems like Drakey was porting all the ATT roms over and Dev them so looks like were at a standstill with roms unless someone else comes forward and can dev.
What a shame the whole thing...

With @graydiggy...X-note 12 runs fine. Speaking of which, wonder if there was really a "kernel" issue with X-note 13 or if the guy needed a donation to get it fixing.
Oh wells, like someone else said on this thread. Someone will figure out the porting process and take care of us AT&T users.
I'm still using KR for now until a better KitKat ROM is out. I wasn't experiencing any issues except a messaging fc when using the pen to show a preview. I was able to fix this by flashing another ROM and using titanium backup to backup messages and flash back to KR then do a restore in titanium. So I guess I'm staying for now.

Sorry
I didnt mean any disrespect!
Just seemed like drakey was the only dev over there whether it was his KR or him porting over other peoples stuff.
My apologies.
When I get some time Ill check out your thread and work.
Thanks in advance for providing the community with your work.
The reason it gets brought up so much is because people actually did care for his work and it's sad that he tarnished his great work but now this gives us all an opportunity to try other devs great work..just wish we had a flash able kit kat rom that can be flashed via the new safestrap..my computer is actin up and don't want to risk my pic shutting down in middle of an Odin flash
