Somebody did say that the su660 baseband Mar-03-2011 can support EDGE.
Who has the baseband 0303? please give me one.
My friend has the su660 phone rom working on baseband Mar-03-2011(0303).
But He can't port the baseband alone.
Who can port the baseband?
Why don't you try the 1120 Baseband? It is a port from su660 so it must foot your needs. And it supports edge, at least on p990.
See in dev section.

We had tried basebands 0218/0315/0530/0629/0725/0824/1120.
At last, only the baseband 0303 can work well in the chinamobile EDGE network(2G).
There are several differents between su660 & p990.

Any su660 bb + ril works great on singtel.
Sorry for being off topic, but is there any official singtel GB update that I can download from? I bought from singtel and I know they have custom operator built GB with singtel apps and boot and shutdown screen.

Hello. I searched around the xda forums for some stuff regarding basebands and RILs and found many open threads with only short or no answers at all. I found a thread with baseband 313 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500443 ) but all the links are dead. Also I cannot find any proper guide or explanation of tghis topic.
I have flashed my phone to Owain's CM9 build now and while I'm at it, I wanted to finally get my baseband and RIL right. I installed GetRIL and it said my baseband doesn't match my RIL, so I trusted the app's recommendation and installed the RIL 405. Now my phone has
baseband 1035.21_20110405
RIL 0405 (V10c, Spain)
Is that allright? Any better combination regarding signal strength or battery life?
I cannot understand the naming scheme of basebands and RILs. I often read things like "flash V20q baseband"... Huh? Does that refer to RIL or baseband? Cause my baseband does not include anything like V20q. Are these people actually talking about RIL?
So confused.

Well, no, they are in fact talking about the basebands.
Every official ROM from LG comes with a baseband which internally carries the ROM version-information. However, that information is not visible on the phone's about page. There you will only see the major and minor version, like "1035.21_20110725". In theory, any baseband with the same version-information should behave identically. In practice it's a little different. You can read the real information (stock-based ROM only) by dialling "1809#*990#", tap "Version info" and look at "Factory Version". That's the real baseband-version, and also identifies which official ROM-release it came from.
Thank you TrymHansen, it seems you have some knowledge about this stuff so may I ask a few more questions?
Dialling "1809#*990#" does not work since I am not on a stock ROM. So what baseband do I have? V10c like my RIL?
My current baseband and RIL seem pretty old to me, are they outdated? Can you please provide a link to a more current version? I really searched but I do not understand the results. What is the baseband and RIL everyone uses? 725? V20q? What do these numbers even mean?

I cannot determine that fully, but the alternatives are 10d, 10c, and 10b. All of those came with an 0405 baseband.

They are old, yes. That's not very important however, the question is if they work satisfactorily for you. If yes, there's no need to change.

20q is the last ROM-version officially released for many countries (some have gotten 20r). The 20q baseband is the baseband that came with it.
Many of us use a baseband from the Korean SU660-model, because some of us struggle with noisy "other end" calls. The SU660 baseband solves that specific problem.
In short, if your phone works and you don't have any problems you think you can relate to the baseband, let it be.
If you still want to flash a new one, here is 20R, here is 20q.
Thank you so much, you cleared up a lot of confusion! Also thank you for the links.
Now one last question. Which baseband + RIL do you use? I understand that these may not work for me for whatever reason, I just want to know what the pros use.
I use the 20111120 baseband from the SU660, which came with the ROM 20j for that model.
Forgot to answer the last post question of what the numbers mean.
The 1035.21 is presumably an internal version information for LG, the rest is simply the date the baseband was first released. (For stock ROMs this hasn't changed since 0725. As I said, every baseband which has the informatin 1035.21_0725 should in theory be identical, in practice there turned out to be small differences relating to Fast Dormancy and other stuff very few know a lot about.)
Thank you. Did you flash that with "SmartFlashTool"?
Yes, that's the only way to flash a baseband separately.
I will use my phone with baseband 405 for a while and keep an eye on the battery life. If it happens to be miserable I will flash the 1120 baseband and RIL.
What I understood from your answers is that LG releases new stock ROMs which internally have names like V10c or V20q. The basebands that come with the new ROMs adopt these numbers. Although multiple stock ROMs contain the same baseband like 1035.21...725, they behave different depending with which ROM they came. The RIL also adopts the name like V20q from the ROM but is always the same. This is how I will explain others who have the same problems as me.
Almost, but not quite. The ril also differs from ROM to ROM-version. It is however, impossible for the RIL-programs to determine if you have a 20q or 20r baseband, the programs can only look at the regular version information (you know, xxx_0725), and recommend a RIL based on that. The theory is/was that it's best that they match. I don't fully agree, I think it's best to use the RIL the ROM was designed for. For stock ROMs that's the RIL that came with the ROM, for CMx it is either RIL 0218 or a korean RIL/baseband combo.
I'm helping a friend with his o2x, it came with froyo and I flashed the temasek cm7 kang on it which is based on 218 ril. The baseband is 405. Is it ok? I don't find an exact anwser...
Can someone confirm that if on the white sticker on your phone, behind your battery, is written Made in Korea, that I have an SU660 phone ? I want to try a new baseband, should I choose for a (ported) Su660 BB ?

Did you check the settings / about phone?you should normally the phone model there....
or with the stock dialer...u may try this *#*#4636#*#* and you should get the phone information normally...it works with P990 but i dont have a SU660 so you need to check mate
All LG O2X phones should be made in korea..Mine's a p990 bought in Singapore, made in korea too.
SU660 comes with a digital tv capability if I am not mistaken, the capacitative buttons arrangements are also different. Its easier to tell them apart.
But if P990 & P999 is 100% identical, but P999 is US version and has different partition layout which is incompatible with p990 roms. This is where you need to be careful not to mixup. Just look at the sticker under your battery.
Ok I checked and there is written P990 - Made in Korea. Should I go for the proper P990 313 baseband or the SU660 ported 420 baseband ?
Thx for your help

I think you should stick with the stock bb which is for your country.. tried new 0420 bb, the difference is 0420 bb use drains more battery and my standby time is better using original 0725 (HK, IND, SG)
Edit: Also my data dropout is less using stock bb..
Sent from my ??? using XDA
Hello,
I just bought a new optimus 2x in my country (Chile). It came with a stock rom, not specially adapted for any operator.
On th ephone option it reads P9900, but from what i read in other threads, if the phone says MADE IN KOREA under the battery (mine does) its an SU660.
So, wich one is it, P990 or SU660?
if it is a SU660, this means i could flash ICS directly?
thanks for the replies.
Both P990 and SU660 are manufactured in Korea, the SU660 has a physical button and a built in TV receiver.
If your device says P990 and doesnt have any of the features mentioned above it is, indeed a P990

Hello, I flashed a new baseband on a CM10 rom (V20L) using smartflash, but I would like to go back to my previous baseband which was V30A EUROPE !
Does anyone know where I can download this baseband/RIL ? I found V30A Germany only !
Thanks for your help :good:
I found this : http://d-h.st/iiC
Do you think it is a trusted one, and compatible with EUROPE ?
Try this instead
I can't offer you V30A Europe, but would recommend you do the following: Read the first post in this thread and follow the guidelines to obtain the baseband that is recommended by LG for your device.
Personally, I am very happy with the baseband I obtained this way.
all baseband p990
