Battery charger - Nexus S Accessories

Ok so I'm going to be buying a 3300 extended battery soon so I will need a way to charge a battery without it being in the phone(if extended dies will switch to original)
Are there any decent battery chargers on amazon?
PS I'm in UK so amazon.co.uk is where it needs to be from

I got one from eBay a few months ago. Does the job well and its even got an indicator light to let you know when its charging and all done etc. The only thing is it takes 6 hours for a full charge from zero.
I'll try and take a photo and get the name etc for you in a bit

I have seen those on ebay. Has anybody tried those? Same type of battery costs 10 times more with Mugen.

Thanks guys! Something too good to be true I guess.
Actually I bought this battery, cover and charger off ebay 2 weeks ago and imho its awesome, typically my stock battery gives me 7.5 hrs screen time over 1.5 days, the 6500mah battery gives me TWELVE hours screen time over 2 days. I only switch wifi or 3g/4g on when I need them with sync off and this applies to the stock result as well, I know china batteries are usually sub standard and do not perform anywhere near their quoted mah capacity but in this case its pretty good and for £8.50 delivered exceptional value, if I get ONE year of consistent performance I will buy it again.

I believe these have the capacity of two chinese batteries in one, whatever that means. Still it should be better than stock battery.

Mugen is overpriced. Why not Momax? They use LG cells. I've had a fat Momax extended battery on my SGS2 for 18 months and no issues at all. It lasted about twice as long as expected from the numbers.
Really cheap batteries leave me nervous. I sleep with my phone charging next to me and would not like to wake up in a fire or worse.
But Mugen? I'm quite unlikely to drop $100 for a battery. But won't go for $10 ones either. If Momax doesn't release their extended for the Note II soon, I'll just find something similar.

Well, the Veblen effect might apply to extended batteries too. But in general if the difference is too big I tend to suspect that they are using cheap cells and/or lying regarding capacity. It is not always easy to measure the numbers accurately.

Extended Battery

Was wondering if anyone knows of a good extended battery?
Im kind of weary of them because before my Note II, I had an HTC EVO 3D and tried using an extended battery and it just fried the the display, it never worked again.
So I was wondering if someone could link me to an extended battery that actually worked for them, I would much appreciate it.
Thanks in advance .

Mugen is crazy asking for $100. I just got my Anker yesterday for 16 bucks on Amazon. Popped it in my phone and it had 50% juice in it. Right now almost 24 hours later I'm sitting at 35%. Still far from being able to tell how good it will be because I haven't had it long enough but it seems very promising.

+1 same question here mate
Hey guys I just got the hyperion 6200 with extended cover and here are my results so far in pics below.
I've had the screen brightness on about %20 the whole time. If you dont mind the bulk this thing is a beast! As of right now it was definitely worth $20. Hope this helps.

Thats not much better then stock battery imo, I can easily go 14-20+ hrs with at least 6-7 screen on time heavy usage. The note 2 is a phone that doesn't need an extended battery and deserves to stay the sexy ***** of a phone that it is (no prego back bump needed ) lol
Sent from my SCH-I605 aka macks jellybeans rom.
I definitely agree with the preggo look lol, but so far it seems like its gonna get through 2 days with heavy usage. I do like how long this battery is lasting, but only time will tell if I decide to fully stay with it.

You really can't compare your use to anyone else's. There are too many variables. It's best to compare with yourself. If you consistently get "35 hours with stock battery" would you get 70 with this one? Does anyone who uses an extended battery double or at least increase their usage considerably with it while maintaining the same usage patterns?

Well said! I did double my usage of two days instead of one through my first full charge (heavy user). I always keep my brightness at 20%, some calls emails, some gaming, constantly syncing, and mp3 player at least 4 hours a day. I kept my usage pattern the same since im mostly using it for work.
Only time will tell how long it'll last and how well it'll perform. For right now im happy with the purchase.

Following up with what I said earlier... Tho I do understand extended batteries can definetly be beneficial to extreme heavy users who are away from any way of charging their phone, im quite impressed with my results on stock battery with plenty more battery to kill b4 I get home from work (even on a 12+ hr shift)

[Q] Good cheap battery for Note II?

I'll be going to The Netherlands in a couple weeks and I'd like to have an extra charged battery in my pocket just in case... and for the plane ride. Any suggestions? something really cheap but not totally **** would be nice!
Oh and it has to be a normal sized battery not an extended one.
Why not just pick up another stock battery? Anything else youd risk it being sub par.

Anker and QCell have both worked well for me. They both last just as long as the stock battery and at least on Amazon they each come with an external wall charger. I keep a charged battery in my pocket all the time now and it's great being able to quickly throw the charged one in the phone and instantly have a 100% charge.

Another vote for the regular Anker. Lasts longer than my stock battery. Bought the 2 pack with charger for $20 on Amazon.

Just bought the Gorilla NFC 6500 mah Extended battery :D

http://gorillagadgets.com/gorilla-g...-note-2-ii-with-nfc-protected-back-cover.html
It has nfc capability and its 2.06 times more of stock battery they have it both in white and grey.
It also has a tpu case that is seperate for only 11 dollars found here:

Waiting 2-5 days for only $5.20 5-10 days is like $4.50

Darn it all. I was looking for one of these about 3 weeks ago. I settled for 2 Anker 3100 mah batteries and a charger for about the same money. So far, they are quite good and I'm pleased with their performance. Now I have battery envy.
In my book, the stock battery is too small, the zerolemon is too big, but the Gorilla would have been just right and at a good price.

From the link pictures TPU case looks like S3 case although it says for Note 2. Here is my take on this. It looks like a regular ebay extended battery with addition of NFC built into the plastic battery cover, thus probably why the price is higher than from ebay. I don't have any experience with Gorilla brand, but obviously it just a HK generic re-branded battery, and from a lot of the reviews of those I have seen it's 50/50 chance you will get the advertised capacity. I'm not saying it's a case with Gorilla stuff, but it would be good to hear back from someone who bought their battery before and had a chance to really test it out to calculate mAh output. From what I heard and read, the only available double capacity batteries that are reliable: Mugen ($105 - way too overpriced) or Hyperion ($18.99 and $4.99 for extended tpu case).
Regarding Zerolemon being too big, I would correct it as "heavier" but not too big. It adds the same thickness as 6200/6500 mAh battery, just extends it across the back of the phone due to an additional battery block. That is why people use the same Defender mod for either double capacity or triple capacity extended battery - fitment will be similar.

That's how most of these work. Double capacity is nothing more or less than 2 original ones fused together. Zerolemon is just 3 fused together, arranged in a different shape. As it was discussed before, Samsung squeezed maximum capacity out of that battery footprint, nothing holding back. 3100 mAh is the max you can get out of that single footprint while 6200 mAh is the max out of double, just like 9300 mAh is the max from ZL triple. The only other company that was able to squeeze a bit more juice out of double was Mugen, and they make their own battery cells. Everybody else buys it from China and slaps their own label on it. Some companies do a detailed testing to guarantee the product, while others write made up capacity numbers. I would take it with a grain of salt when I read 6500 mAh and see the price (higher than ebay stuff, but justifiable because NFC antenna is included and that one is pricey) which points to origin of these cells from China. I have nothing against GG and from all the feedback I see they are a very reputable company that has been around for awhile. But I still think these are really 6200 mAh batteries, unless someone can get an external test unit which discharges and monitors the actual current draw down to 3.4V or whatever is the threshold when battery goes dead.
You guys dont understand how hard it is to drank this sucker. I was on netflix, youtube, ifunny, instagram, texting calling web browsing all day. And now i have nyan cat (10 hours version playing) and i dont think i can get to 5% anytime soon XD

http://www.batteryreview.info/revie...h-extended-battery-for-the-samsung-galaxy-s3/
According to the review, the GG battery is on par with Anker, Hyperion, and Mugen, beating them all slightly. If the reviewed battery is representative of GG batteries, then they are comparable to the favored batteries on this forum.
I have enjoyed reading many of your reviews. Thank you for your fine work. Is there any chance you might review the GG battery for the GN2?

I doubt anyone would want to leave their phone in direct sunlight for too long, mostly because of how hot it would get. Otherwise, if you're using it while you're outside it'll be able to lower the rate that the battery drains, so that would be a good thing. Otherwise, having it dedicated just for solar charging would not take off IMO
Absolutely useless with current technology.
A solar cell the size of a phone left out in the sun all day wouldn't even charge the phone's battery halfway.
We have awhile to go before solar cells are efficient enough to do this.
As a hiker and someone who's planning some long distance backpacking, I've been looking into purchasing one similar to what's shown in the OP's thread. There's one available on Amazon that's 10,000mAh, can charge itself in sunlight or be plugged into a wall or USB port on a computer. With a carabiner to attach the solar charger to something (belt loop, backpack, etc.) and a long enough cable, you can easily keep your phone out of direct sunlight while leaving the charger sit in the sun. In occasions such as these, I can see how useful they'd be. It's on my "wish list" so I can't speak for how well it works but it has good reviews.

I approve, always nice to have something supplementing your charged battery. I don't see it doing any harm, if it was built in to devices as standard just to give you that extra boost or the chance of emergency power.
