REQUEST ROOT for v20c - LG Thrill 4G

the new Samsung Galaxy note is being rooted by pushing a pre-rooted kernel to the phone and then going from there....Would this be a possible method for our phones??

Nope. They have ODIN.
We don't.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S II

Not true. I still get the same speed on V21A.

is there anyway to backup your rom on v20c? The reason I ask is because I wonder if we could backup the rom while on v20c, and then flash v21a, then restore the v20c rom while on v21a...or vica versa restore a v21a backup while on v20c??

Nope. If you can't root, you can't backup.
You need root to install ClockworkMod.
You need ClockworkMod to do a NANDROID backup.

I don't get 4g on 21A,20A,etc.. only 20C

[Q] Stock apps/ROM reset

I just got a rooted Optimus 2x. It has the stock ROM. The previous owner had removed many stock apps including Google Talk, music player which I would want to reinstall but I can't reach him now.
It has some backups because of Root Uninstaller, but not every app is there.
I found some links for all Optimus 2x stock apps but they aren't working anyome.
Is there any way I can reinstall these apps? Or do I have to reflash the stock firmware or something?
You should reflash
Sent from my Optimus 2X using XDA
So before I reflash can anyone confirm if this is what I should be doing?
Download my firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041 (Hungarian one)
Download Smartflash and Baseband (0725-V20q-Baseband) from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658047 And follow the instructions. But also select the firmware file too.
The problem is the link for my baseband is down and I can't post in the thread.
Also after I flash it, I will have to root it again, right?
After u flash the stock firmware, the baseband will be flashed as well. So unless the stock baseband is not working with ur network u dun have to flash the baseband again,
Yes, u will have to root again

Error while flashing Rom with CWM

hi.
i have an Australian N7000B Note, and it is currently rooted on the latest available android in the country for the phone (2.3.6)
i have superuser and CWM installed.
i can boot into CWM and navigate with no worries, but whenever i try to install any custom rom, regardless what rom it is, i get the same error.
i really want to get off this crappy rom that Telstra provides with the phone, so any help is greatly appreciated.
many thanks
pic attatched of error.
Use ODIN to flash a stock ICS or GB ROM and then re-root and add cwm and try again
the issue you face is because your version is the GT-N7000B and the build.prop is for the GT-N7000 so its failing because it believes the ROM is for a different device.
if the product codes do not match up in the build.prop it will fail - this applies to all devices and all ROMs.
you could also open the .zip and find the build.prop and change all of them, But its a pain in the ass !

Because these are for the N7000 if i flash a stock ICS rom on my N7000B what will happen?
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8
Put your details in there and it will find you a stock ROM. Ive seen threads where N7000B users have flashed N7000 ROMs without any issues.
EDIT: You CAN use any GT-N7000 firmware !
Awesome! I am downloading the Gingerbread Australian Rom as we speak for the N7000. if i flash it with odin, root it, and then install CWM would it work with installing custom roms such as paranoid android etc?
Yes because the Stock firmware will remove the 'B' and you will have no more install errors
Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter !! and make a nandroid before commencing.

Well, i have a nandroid backup of the current firmware, i made it just after i rooted it.
so, i will flash it with Odin on PC correct? does it require i wipe everything off the phone?
sorry for the questions i am a noob lol
you can wipe before or after it makes no difference so long as your on GB.
Dont ever wipe on ICS unless your on a safe kernel.
But do do a wipe as it will start you off on a fresh clean install

I have 2.2 Froyo... Need help

Hello, I'd like to update my phone using Smartflash.
I have an official V20B rom which is rooted. I would like to install a new official rom but i'm completely lost when it comes to choosing the right version !
Where can I get the official V20S stock rom (which can be installed with smartflash)
Also, is there any official ICS rom ? (same, for smartflash), if so, is it fully stable ? Where can I get it ? (LG Mobile update says my phone is up to date... Huh)(I have read that you need to change the boot partition or something like that with ICS roms, is it valid for official ICS roms from LG too ?).
Do I have to unroot my phone before installing a new rom with Smartflash ?
Thanks.

1. Make sure that you have P990.
2. V20B should be a gingerbread.
3. If you read one post below yours, you could’ve find exactly what you ask official ICS for smartflash.
Cheers.

I will update via LG Tools with the kdz instead of smartflash. Is there anything to do specifically to keep my data in the phone or is it saved automatically in the LG Tools update process ?

I think updating via LG Tool doesn't erase data on your phone... however I would strongly advise you to synchronize your contacts with gmail and backing up you apps with titanium backup in an external sd card.
Update via LG Tool didn't erase my data when I went from 2.2 to 2.3
