[Q] Optimus 2x Wind Stock Rom? - LG Optimus 2x

Hi, Ive been looking around for the wind stock rom for the past few days and could not find it. So im posting a thread about it.
I want to put it back to the old firmware which you buy from wind that comes with the preloaded software because I did not unlock it when it was rooted. Is there any downloads for winds stock rom for optimus 2x?

Hi
I believe the Wind O2X is actually a G2X, so maybe you've searched in the wrong thread for the whole time .
Anyway, try searching for a stock rom in the G2X thread...
Good Luck!

Are you sure? Because when I bought the phone from Wind mobile, the os had wind mobile widgets and such sort

I'm pretty sure, a WIND Optimus 2X is a G2X (LG P999). The O2X and G2X are pretty much the same. There are only a few differences, which cause O2X roms to not work on a G2X and vice versa.

Okay I looked in the g2x section and I cant find it...
Right now my optimus 2x is running android version 2.2.2 with an unknown baseband, I just want to reset it back to winds android version with an actually baseband?
Any help?

Yeah .. there are enough wind users (me too) that one will show up soon. Might have been posted.. or someone who is more savy might be able to do one up.

Will the G2x from Tmo get its own section?

I am super excited about Paul getting cwm, custom kernel, and custom rom on the Optimus 2x. This will open surely make this phone more enticing. Question I have is this: Will there be 2 sections or 1? Since the Tmo version will be running vanilla this will kinda be like the SGS vs SGS US models scenario and porting issues different kernels and what not. Your thoughts?
I guess there won't be this kind of problem - there is no big difference between P990 and p999 technically, so ROM's will be compatible, I guess the baseband will be only a problem, but it's flashed separately.
Was just about to post a thread about this. Glad I searched.
Im curious as well. Cant wait to ditch this mytouch 4g

Yes, you're right!
I've successfully dumped P990 rom to P999. The only problem was basebond.
Other than that, everything works beautifully!
I really like TMO G2x!!
Uh, the G2x isn;t out yet..
T-Mobile US gave away the G2X to employees at a company celebration of top performers in Hawaii in the first week of April.

I got to play with one in T-mobile today, and it was awesome. An hour later I was calling customer service ordering one. I won't get it until Tuesday so I'm stuck reading about the G2x until then.
P999 on P990?

I've got the P990 O2x (purchased in the Caribbean - LG Branding)- and I'm using it on T-Mo USA - but my phone is stuck on EDGE - and I'm not sure why?... Also, can't send MMS....
Has anybody flashed the P999 rom to a P990?
I'm just wondering what it will take to get T-Mobile 3/4G playing nicely with the P990 (O2x)?
For anyone who's curious I'm running:
Android Version 2.2.2
Baseband Version = 1035.21_20110218
Kernel Version = 2.6.32.9-dirty
Build Number = FRG83G
LGE Version = LGP990-V10a
Unless that version has the aws bands and they are enabled you will be stock on edge

The O2X is 900/1700/2100 so should be no problem.

What The?

Can I flash LG Optimus 3D roms on my phone? How do I tell if I have a thrill? What's the difference why is there two different sections!? WHATTT????
The Thrill is the AT&T branded version. The only physical difference is a small AT&T logo on the back. The model number is P925, vs the Optimus 3D is P920. You can see the model number in the About in Settings. They run on different bands, so O3D ROMs will not run on the Thrill. If you put a O3D ROM on the Thrill you only get 2G, the "4G" from AT&T does not work.
So they will work but I would get a 2G connection? Could I use their rom manager ways and etc? Is there a way I could just flash the Thrill's radio back onto it after installing an Optimus Rom?
I have not seen anyone pull the radio from the Thrill yet. So far Thriller is the only Thrill based ROM. I think once the GB update comes out we will see GB ROMs. I don't think many devs want to take time tweaking FroYo when GB has been promised by year end (and likely long before that). The O3D was released months ago, the Thrill has been out for less than a month.

Convert LG THRILL TO OPTIMUS 3D

So as many of us know, there are a bunch of GB roms for LG Optimus 3D and i belive just one for the Lg thrill. When i tried installing a GB baseband for my trill, it bricked. To make long story short, unbricking it meant installing LG optimus 3d firmware and that turned my phone into an lg-p920 from a lg-p925. In froyo 2.2.2 , i stood about 400 ft from a cell tower and i was pulling down 5.8mbps and pushing up 1.1Mbps. BUT that wasnt enough. I still wanted gingerbread so things were made easier since every software saw my "thrill" as an optimus 3d. After installing a custom GB rom for the optimus 3d and manually entering AT&T's apn, I am getting descent 3g speeds of 5Mbps down and 1Mbps up from my house. Im not too close to a cell tower, but I will see the speeds when i am close again to the cell tower.
The new gingerbread update also enables 21.1Mbps Backhaul from 14Mbps. If you want to do the same, PM me. If you want to wait for official ginger for the thrill, then its ok.
Just wanted to let you guys know. Ill be making a youtube video with my super bad camera, but i believe you will probably be able to make out the numbers.
Thanks for reading guys. God bless you guys and keep on hacking!
To tell you the truth, the baseband makes very little difference.
I tested each with SpeedTest and I pulled 10mbps down and 2mbps.
It's most likely my location though.

I dont think O2X has the hardware to support 4G(LTE), the new O4X does support.
P999 is the O2X for the US market, with whatever differences in hard- and software, just like SU660 is for the Korean market, also with some differences in hard- and software.
P990 is for the rest of us. If you look into the developers fora, you will see there is a distinction between ROMs for the three models. If you live in the US, get the P999, so you are sure to get the official support.
When it comes to custom ROMs, the O2X is a breeze to use, and you will have to make great effort, to brick it. Once LG releases official ICS update, the pages here will explode with ROMs.
I have had the phone for almost two years now and I am becoming more and more satisfied with it, I will only exchange it for perhaps the O4X, due to the larger screen, my eyesight is not what it used to be!!!!!

I don't think g2x has FM radio hardware ( if that's important to you ) but the O2x does

[Q] which thrill is this forum for?

I see there are multiple versions of the Thrill. Mine isnt really a 4G (at least not LTE). Mine is a LG-P925. Will I be able to use the ROMS in the dev section of this forum?
Just want to make 100% sure I dont mess up my phone.
Thanks!

All O3D roms.
Its the same phone.
Most devs on the O3D forum include att apns in their ROMs so its really effortless to install. I would even recommend flashing the V21E kdz rom. This baseband fixed the ghost call issue that still plagues ATT customers today.
