Droid 1 play modern combat or samurai vengeance? - Motorola Droid and Milestone Q&A, Help & Troublesh

can the droid play any of those games? if i transfer the apk from my friend's samsung galaxy s2, will it install and let me play?

Not if you transfer it from SGS2, but yes, it is possible to play those games on Droid. You will either have to buy them or look on some forums with "modded" apps.
To improve performance in heavy games, you can root and install Chainfire 3D to reduce textures etc. in games.
Hope you understand, it is not allowed to share cracked apps over here.

its not in the market so i was wondering why? i seen videos of people playing quake 3 and stuff on youtube. is it the internal storage limitation?

I suggest you Mobilism to download ****** apps. You can't see the games on Market because they are blocked for devices that run the game unstable, or don't even run it. Sandstorm and MC are usually not on Market, only a few Gameloft games are. So we have to find ways to play some games = manual installation.

Gameloft games

I was surprised while playing some of the gameloft games that none of them use accelerometer. Not even the brick breaker game while all other games like brick breaker use accelerometer. Can this be an indicator that even racing game for android by gameloft will not have g-sensoe even as an option. Only bubble bash use that also to some extent.
games
do you have games for htc diamond, similar to teeter? thanks, jav
hey the reason for this is most likely that all games so far released by gameloft have been ports of games from various other mobile phones. once the android interest increses i am sure we will see some fantastic gameloft games
Asphalt Street Rules HD uses the accelerometer.
Asphalt
Yeah asphalt uses accelerometer and it is not the onlt game. Bubble bash also uses accelerometer. Gameloft people told me when i rose this question. So its good we have some good games coming up. And i only have gameloft games. No such game as teeter is made by gameloft.
installation isue
Does anyone know why when I install any gameloft game it is stored in the internal memory?, I have installed them in my storage ( have an omnia i800) and in storage card, but all end up installed in the internal memory the only one with 46mb free

guide to tegra and qualcomm games on our cappy

a comprehensive guide to our cappy
*need to be rooted*
first download Chainfire3D (free) https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.cf3d&feature=search_result
Chainfire3D Pro (paid) https://market.android.com/details?id=eu.chainfire.cf3d.pro&feature=search_result
(Pro offers OpenGL manipulation on a per-app bases and Fix market settings and support's his efforts)
after it installs open the app and download the CF3D driver
once installed reboot the device
then pick from the .zip files attached below (qualcomm for snap dragon game Nvida for tegra 2 games and ect and put the .zip on the SD
open the app and click install plugin
then go into default open gl settings
click use plugin and chose which plugin to use depending on the game
games that work Nvidia (pinball Hd, my first trainz little unstable, samurai vegeance ii and ripetide gp) qualcomm (backstab HD is kinda unstable)
games are attached below
P.S editing the build prop any way does not help to play these games
http://www.filestube.com/6460f51a757b005e03eb/go.html backstab hd
http://www.filestube.com/2f6496e969a1678903ea/go.html Samurai_II_Vengeance
http://www.filestube.com/3dd9cebfec00786e03e9/go.html pinball http://www.duckload.com/download/qQsY2 ripetide gp
http://bitshare.com/files/9lj7b0it/My-First-TRAINZ-Set-v1.1.apk.html My-First-TRAINZ
also rember to enable unkown sources in application settings
^Thats gonna get taken down. It shouldnt though since those developers wont sell a version for our phones.
There is a version of Pinball THD around that has the tegra check removed. I hoping this can be done to all THD games so I dont have to mess around with chainfire.
Devs need to realize tegra devices are maybe 5% of all android devices. And not all those users are going to buy games. So they are targeting maybe 3% of android users.
If people starting buy THD games to use with chainfire then devs will continue to make tegra only games.
I agree with you BenKranged i also think that google should step to the plate like they did with the carriers and the phone companys to stop this fragmentation and stop Nvida paying off the devs and the devs charging 6 to 7$ for games.
also i think terga devices make up less of the market
Nvida profts for this quater says that only 6.25% is the percentage of all tegra based products make up in there profits
Thx alot squishy for the detailed guide, I'm having succes with all of the games u posted,no lag at all to my surprise exept samurai II which doesnt even wanna load, the game starts but loading the missions does not so basicly menu browsing only.
P.S. I'm running Mosaic III D with xcal #15 vodoo enabled
Backstab anyone?
Anyone manage to get Backstab working? If so, how?
TIA, if not, no worries.
Sweet

[Q] I am going to buy a galaxy note in 2 weeks..need to knw about game compatibility

I have read in your gaming thread that many games are not compatible with galaxy note.As i am a gaming freak.itz the main reason i want to buy galaxy note.I want to know in future will this game compatibility issue will be taken care of?or will games be released compatible with the high resolution of note...plz help me...thanx in advance
Tintin from Gameloft
So far, a few games are not quite compatible with the Note, in the sense of looking too "soft" as they were not designed for the larger screen. The most notable fail for me is Adventures of Tintin in HD, which I was excited about seeing on a larger screen, as I purchased it when I owned the Galaxy S2. But the game is a different 2D version (horrible, ultra-pixelated 1980s game kind of look) on the Note. Subsequently, Gameloft prevented Note users from downloading the game but there's no refund. What a bummer, and certainly not an extremely pleasant experience dealing with the customer service, who sounded too matter of fact about it.
I suggest that you list the games that are critical to you, and some of us can help to check.
Help me with gta 3..nfs hot pursuit..9mm..i have read the whole gaming thread..for some people the games run for some they doesnt..vry confusing..
Can you spell out the names of the games? I don't play them...

for me, gta3 ran when i downloaded over wifi, but not when i downloaded over 3g (probably due to crappy 3g in australia leading to corrupted files).
there are many different gta 3 versions on the market, there should be one for your area.
as for gameloft games, most dont really work too well. gameloft arent too great with their device support yet, but theyre not as bad as ea games.
Hey I also game a lot and I just got my galaxy note.
From the gameloft games, I am able to run (well):
- backstab
- asphalt 6
- brothers in arms 2 (there is a free version on the market)
- modern combat 3 (now available on the market)
What I am trying to run but can't:
- tintin (2d version...no way to get the normal one, I also copied the data over but nothing)
- 9mm - doesn't download the data: incompatible device
- shadow guardian : tried the galaxy tab version...data downloaded, gameloft logo than back to main screen
- rainbow six shadow guardian: the desire hd version i bought some time ago doesn't run. I am trying a samsung version now...downloading the data still don't know whether it will work
- let's golf 3: nothing...incompatible device. copying the data over doesn't help.
Other games:
- dead space: not on the market but you can find it and runs flawless
- shadowgun: no problems. available on the market
- shine runner : on the market
- riptide gp: same
- GTA 3 should run without problems...i still have to buy it, i have to finish some games before playing gta.
- sprinkle : flawless (no black bars on the sides)
- reckless racing
And of course some other minor games from the market...of course angry birds, cut the rope, apparatus and some others....but i am more interested in 'gameloft' games and unfortunately no game (apart from modern combat 3) is officially working. To get some to work you have to manually do everything...and not always work. That's why i am trying all the games (which I had bought and never played...what luck now they don't work on the new phone -_-) too see how many i can get to run.
Anyway in January gameloft should update most of the games and get them to run on the device. I am sure they are working on it.
So far every game I have has played perfectly on the note So no problems for me. But then again I don't play any of those games that you play. I'm a casual gamer (puzzles, word games, etc). I highly recommend the Note.
If any games don't run NOW, they probably will because all developers have to do is tweak their configurations.
good news for the original poster

thanks for the info guys
All the games I play kick ass on the Note..
Order&Chaos
Modern Combat 3
Death Rally (man this game is awesome)
I dont play a lot of games though..Also you can use chainfire3d to play games you couldnt normally.
Been using my Galaxy Note for like 3-4months game play is awesome....i have a few titles that jist look great...
Shawdowgun is one of the favorites...
And if your wearing headphones you got the option for 5.1 digital sound...works great in the car as well connected to car radio as well......works grwat for watching movies as well...

[Q] FPS Games for Droid 4, which ones are compatible????

I was wondering if any body out there had a list of compatible FPS games for the Droid 4. I really enjoy gaming on my phone but I'm sick and tired of downloading and installing games such as Modern Combat just to find out at the end of the install that the game is not compatible. I've looked up and down on the net for some kind of compatibility list but can't seem to find any thing at all. These are just a few of the games that I currently have on my Droid 4 that run smoother than a new born baby's butt and I've never had any compatibility issues with what so ever. If you know of any other similar games that work on the Droid 4, please add to the list.....
Dead Trigger
Mass Effect Infiltrator
Dead Space
Shadowgun
Shadowgun DeadZone
Backstab
CS Portable
CM:Swat
Oh WOW! So apparently NOBODY plays ANY FPS on their Droid 4's? Really? That is simply amazing. FYI, in case you guys didnt know. the Droid 4 can play some really good console quality games since it seems nobody knows that.....

You're not the only one! I use emulators on my Droid 4 to play some of my favorite classic console games... EG Mortal Kombat, SNES ROMs.. you get me. So don't feel so alone! And thank you for the list that you have made. I will be checking out all of them!
I'll ask my son. He play a couple of them. I do know some of the games won't show up in Google Play. I have to buy them on my HOX+ but after that I can easily install them and play them on the Droid 4/Photon Q 4G LTE.
