I cant find any ROMs for the thrill 4g that are still active, can someone refer me some that work?
If it's using megaupload, you'll have to have someone upload it to a different filesharing server.

true they use bad servers like hotfile or rapedshare
but free good servers like midafire +howfile and the best of all (ifile)
but if we got torrents ohhhhhh
Torrents?
... Challenge accepted.

Dearest Trinity users,
I've taken the liberty of uploading all the current ROMs onto RapidShare for our downloading pleasure. I've also updated the wiki with links to all the new locations so that when the files are removed from the XDA hosted FTP we'll still have a place to get a hold of the files. I believe this will be the easiest, quickest method as opposed to using Torrents. That way we don't need any extra software to download the files and no seeders will be needed, either. If the links to these files will ever be required to be removed from the wiki along with the FTP files, I still have the full list of download locations so we can move the info onto any page we would need in the future.
Thanks

Seems like a good idea
Good idea. And actually a great counterblow against the Microsoft's hostile plans to limit the availability of ROMs.
Maybe they will next to try close whole internet because there _MAY_BE_ some software available that hurts Microsoft's business..

But that would be perfectly reasonable. The thing is that no-one is hurting Microsoft's business making those ROMs available. Quite the opposite: this site and those unofficial ROMs have contributed to the success of Windows Mobile.
But to be honest in this case I think that Microsoft is acting to please the companies that license Windows Mobile (i.e. the network operators) more than themselves. The network operators don't like sites where you can learn how to unlock phones and replace their branded software and it's easy to understand why.
Great!!

Very well thought out and well spoken.
But no worries, just means we have a couple more hoops to jump through.
Why not share them in a filesharing network (emule, torrent, etc)?
Then, it would be a real "community project" and it would be not so easy to bring them down...
All files should contain "xda-dev" so they could be easy to find.
Just my 2 cents

Yep that's true also. I'm open for plenty of other options besides RapidShare. I'm thinking of RapidShare as more of a temporary solution while XDA is forced to start deleting all the ROMs from their FTP server.
I don't see any reason why most uploaders are currently using the commercial, unreliable and slow services of Rapidshare. XDA developers has a great FTP site, it's free, it works much faster than Rapidshare, pleae use it.
BTW this FTP site has been trashed in the past, uploaders please publish file size/date/crc and keep backups of your uploaded files.
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Himalaya/ for downloads
ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Uploads/Himalayafor uploads
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site for explanation of ftp

Of course, not for whole ROM images...
But - generally, yes, use ftp server
Maggy you've done a great job making the Stickies informational.
Maybe it would be an idea to Make a sticky roll up that combines all your info.
Just a suggestion, no one needs to do anything.
Hello Fellow XDA Brothers....
I am a hardcore XDA Fan and I can see many users have started posting their download link to other forums.
This is re-directing all the traffic of Xda.... as slowly XDA fans would stop logging on here and go on these sites.
We should take some steps to avoid this....
Wanted your views...
Even for normal users its really irritating to click on the link register then download ? how many clicks are we adding for one download ?
sometimes it is required so that you can download peoples work that directly conflicts in xda's rules, but they can't say anything about it since it is just a link to another site if you get the download from that site, but if you were to grab it directly off of xda then it would go against one of the rules.
or the person doesn't want their work on xda because of the attitudes that a lot of the newer users have that they are entitled to every little thing, and that is the only way you can access their work.
Simple answer, it's because it requires so much bandwidth, which costs money. Each ROM is 30-90mb, and that's only for Android, WinMo coud be bigger, I don't know. The site is kinda slow as it is (I'm not complaining, just saying) so I highly doubt large uploads will be enabled any time soon (current limit is 8mb for zip).
Humm...
Hey thanks for sharing your thoughts....
I have never posted a ROM or Apps... was nt having idea of rules
Still I could see that files were uploaded on servers like mediafire, rapidshare etc..
But now each member posts on different forums... which i did not like frankly...
So many devs come here on XDA and thats the reason why so many things are happening....
United we stand divided we fall.....
XDA Owners should think on this so everyone stays here...
Being a Flash addict, it dismayed me greatly after I am posted to China.
For a long time, I have been begging for mirrors etc (and there are really good people here in XDA) so that I can slurp up these cooked ROMS, KERNALS instead of just drooling.
Here in communist China.. Many stuff are filtered, including Facebook, Twitter, many file host sites.. and thanks to many helpful people, I have found U.L.T.R.A.S.U.R.F (dots to prevent Great Firewall of China to censor this forum too!)
This is malware and virus free and a standalone exe. Fireup when you need to access blocked sites. Latest version is 10.06 and it will dump the update on your desktop if there is a new version availble.
Happy surfing and downloading

I have a feeling that you mis-wrote the sentence above.
More importantly, is it VPN or one of those auto-updating proxy software? In any case, I generally think its just better to get a VPN. I use Strongvpn.com. Its about $6/month.
or you can use mine, which is free at the moment, for sgs devices.

Hi all,
I guess everyone one has seen Megaupload in the news.
My idea is a xda fileserver. Something for people to host stuff related to XDA.
I have a Dedicated server with mutli TB bandwidth wich might be a start, but I would need help from the community to develop a usable site.
What do people think?
It sounds like a decent idea but it may very well share the same fate eventually.
