Hi,
I was wondering if there is a zip for installing polaris office on stock gb roms (or suggestions for other free office apps). I am on gueste's "good bye" rom, which is perfect, except it doesn't have an office app.
I really just need an app for opening e-mail attachments in pdf and doc format.

Cannot you just extract it from your original rom (or any other custom rom which contains it)?
BTW, for PDF files you can get Acrobat, for doc format it is a bit more problematic I believe, unless you use gmail ...
Kingsoft Office is great too, and free, you can modify Office files.

+1 !
There's also a must-have function in Kingsoft Office : automatic filters !
It's the only free app with this function and I use it everyday.
So it was important for me to have it !

Is there a BitTorrent application for Android available at this moment? Not one of those PC remote control ones, an actual BitTorrent client that can read .torrent files and save the contents to a memory card.
Also, is there an application that decompresses ZIP and RAR files?
These would be so awesome.

I agree that a proper client would be awesome but cannot help you on that. Root Explorer will decompress zips, dont know about rars

As for RAR, not sure about that one.
aBTC is a full featured bit torrent client. It works fine on my N1 3G and Wifi.

Anyone have a copy of that alpha release?

It would be nice to have uTorrent on Android.
Astro File Manager works with zip files...not sure about RARs though.
androzip handles both zip and rar

Lenovo Ideapad K1 System Dump - All credit to OP of original thread. Make sure to thank him.
As usual - I assume no responsibility if you mess up your device. Im not liable.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252957
The dump is hosted in that thread in OP. Be advised that it is not a complete dump because the device isnt rooted yet (obviously)
All of the .apks I installed worked without signature verification or anything except for the Notes app.
Edit : After testing the apps they were a bit laggy and uninstalled. I would be more interested in getting the launcher to work.

Looks like you just copied the abbreviated link from your original post in the other Xoom Section, just dropping this here to be helpful.
Thanks!

Id really rather not post .apks because its not my work. All credit goes to the OP of the original link. Follow the link and download dump. You will be able to pull .apks from the dump and push them to your system.

You are kidding right? The OP says 'system dump' not 'apks for download'
Do you have a cap on bandwith in your country? If so then I apologize but maybe you can ask another member for individual apps.
The point of a system dump is to provide the community with fun new stuff that may be usable on our tabs.

Okay, got the calendar-widget to work without any lags. Beautiful widget!
The mail-widget doesn't work correctly. I got new mail, but it says I don't got any. The options say that my account is synchronized though.
The bookmarking-widget also works fine and is a nice addition!
The rest I couldn't get to install (except for the launcher which I didn't try yet).
But I thought Lenovo had customized more than only a few widgets and a launcher? (like for example Lenovo Socialtouch)

You know Vista...Im not sure. It should be a simple push via adb. I tried using root explorer to see if it would be easier for noobs but it would break the system.
I really want to try it because I think that launcher has a built in task killer that allows you to kill apps from the app scroller.

Hi,
I saw new "FileBrowser" in Tiger ROM for HD2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1534941.
Does anyone have the XAP file of this "FileBrowser" ?
Thanks for help.
FileBrowser is integrated with TouchExperience from Windows Phone Device Manager: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965788&highlight=explorer But you can install TouchExplorer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=879905&highlight=explorer

Thanks for sharing!!! Thanks Ego Zheng for app development!!!
impressive...
it's like a boosted version of touchxplorer : works faster/better (no lags...windows folder opens in 4sec!!)
and it handles files "property" : read/write etc....thank to my full unlocked rom i guess...
touchxplorer combined to htcroot...
at least a serious on-device file browser!
Don't get timid when looking at the screen pictures attached...it installs in english on non-chinese device.
can someone port it for Samsung Focus SGH-i917 ? It doesn't work as it is...

Still wondering how come it never made headlines, at least not so far...
Anyway thanks to the developer, at last I can install my *.xap files from within a file explorer!

Yes, this File Browser is awsome that's why I started this thread. Install XAP file inside phone + can view STORAGE CARD folder which is the small FAT16 partition where I can copy files in my PC and so files from this partition copy from File Browser to inside Windows Phone Storage and reverse.
Now I will buy bigger microSD card and I will try to extend this small partition if it will work then I will be very happy.
Shame that this File Browser:
1. can't by tied with email client so you can post some file if you want
2. can't connect to Skydrive and copy files between Skydrive and device
it's ok for my HTC 7 PRO`??
If you have full unlock device - yes, this app it's for your device too.
Hi, can anyone attache the xap file to download it directly to my HD2?
Thanks,

Ok for people interested FileBrowser I made movie how is working:
great app thanks
Figured I should post here: This app should work fine on stock (non-full-unlock) ROMs now, provided you can run WP7 Root Tools. Just mark the app as Trusted in the policy manager, and you're good to go!
Of course, Root Tools includes its own filesystem browser, so you may not need this... but this does offer some features that Root Tools doesn't have in its filesystem browser.
Yes, and furthermore it browses really faster than Root Tools

Nothing on optimus 7
I just installed the xap for Optimus 7 and in the appy i can't see anything just this:
/
My phone is rooted, so ind the wp7 root tools i can se any files / folders... but i can not go to the windows folder... so i hope this app will help me, but maybe something missing...
... Did you mark it as trusted in WP7 Root Tools? Just having Root Tools installed doesn't make all apps run elevated (this is intentional).
Thanx

Thanks was looking for that.
With 4.1.x rom's,host file went to system/etc but with my 4.3 AOKP rom it doesn't seem to be working?
Also I have a 'new' emulated folder which some apps use as default?
This folder seems to mirror internal storage but there's also 2 folders in there that seem to be the same?
These 2 folders are nearly 700mb in size which means they take up nearly 1.5gb
Is this a 4.3 feature?

Ok I think I found the solution....
rom toolbox has ad blocking and it has 2 places to put the host file.
1-system/etc
2-system/data/data
So far using 2- seems to be working...........
why'd so busy to make it works with large redundant bloatware apps?
simply just grab an fully effective tiny bit one here :

do you mean rom toolbox?
I only used that for automatic backup of apps when I install.
But that doesn't seem to work anymore with 4.3?
I was using old version 5.5.1 though as it was still a free feature then.
I usually use just a host file but it does not seem to be working with 4.3 for some reason.
I found a different host file now,at 555mb it's a lot bigger than my 555k file and works.
I also read google are also on the case of ad blocking apps.............
Thanks for the app link

Hello guys, I've got a question: have you got any idea about where the stock memo folder could be, and if it can be accessible after flashing a custom rom without wiping data/media? I mean, the folder containing the text notes created with the stock memo app..It would be very appreciated to know it, considering I haven't been able to find it by myself, even if I searched in many many subfolders, before opening this thread.. thanks!

Unless you took a NanDroid backup before flashing the Custom ROM, I can't imagine for a minute that you'll be able to recover the memo data. If you know a piece of text that is in one of the notes you could use something like ES File Explorer to search within every file, but I don't think you'll find it.

I made a stock rom backup before flashing the custom rom, but after some weeks I deleted it, because I thought I had no more necessity to have it (I planned to stay to the custom rom, 'cause it works fine)..the problem is that I remembered those notes only some days after I deleted the backup..I tried to search them with hotwords, of course, but without success..So, I asked this question mainly because I thought this: if I flashed the custom rom without wiping data/media, maybe the notes are already stored somewhere, just like the old photos and videos I took when I was on stock rom (in fact, photos and videos are still here)
